You Got Me in a Tangle

Happy Halloween Day 2023!
While I figure out this tangled mess, pass the chocolate please... Just Kidding...

Here's my favorite card of all the Polkadoodles images that I used this Halloween season from the 2023 new release mega digital package release.

For this card, I've combined two images from two different packages.

The 'Boo' Bunting is from the 'Autumn Fall Halloween Treat' digital package.  I duplicated the digital file and moved the layer around until I had it lined up as a double banner above the mummy's head.

The wrapped up Mummy and his tangled pup are from the 'Hocus Pocus Witches Halloween' digital package.  Using the Copic BV shades  with the purple background paper really made this little fellow stand out.

When the coloring was complete I added the yellow matting and secured to the grey A2 card base.   For the sentiment, I added foam to the back and then used a heavy black marker to outline the edges, which gives it an appearance of having a mat. Then I secured it to the bottom center of the card to complete my design.

Sunflower Broomstick

The Polkadoodles Halloween Digital sets were HUGE this year with over 125 black and white images, not even counting the pre-colored ones!  I've made more Halloween cards this year than ever before mainly because the images were super cute and fun to work with. I've enjoyed sharing them over the last 25 days or so with you along with a few others mixed in and I hope you've seen how easy digital files are to work with.  I've saved my favorite two image cards for the the eve of Halloween and for Halloween day.

Today I'm sharing Sunflower Broomstick from the Hocus Pocus Collection.

I've colored her with several bright shades of Copic markers and used this really spooky Halloween bats and moonglow paper for the background.  I really had to squeeze to fit the sentiment in below the image - I have a tendency to size my images on the large side.

I secured the completed image and matting on a yellow A2 card base. Lastly, I added the lime green sparkle organza ribbon and bow at the top fold to complete the card design.

Gonna Put a Spell On You...

Today Polkadoodles, Ghastly Ghost image looks like he has a little bit of Hocus Pocus going on as he's reading his book of spells!

But when you look at the overall card, don't you think the background on this one is what truly makes this card work?

And 98% of the time when that happens for me - it's pure luck!  I rarely pick my background paper first and then color my image to match.  Some days I wish I did that more often when I spend way too much time digging and digging to find the right coordinating papers!

But this card was a 'happen-stance'... and it makes me smile!  To see the bright little dots and doodle lines as the 'spells' are sent out from this cute little Copic colored Ghost.

Here's hoping all the spells of Halloween this year are sweet treats for you and yours. Thanks for stopping by to see what's on my desk today.

Standard Broom?

We're getting closer to the 'Biggest Candy Night of the Year'!

And look who's flying by today....

It's Art Impressions 'Air Hag'!

When I saw this one on the warehouse sale recently it flew right in my cart!  She was fun to Copic color and put together for a few of my friends.  I don't normally mix and match that many background patterned papers but they seemed to really work for her.

I also added foam behind the sentiment tag before securing to the card base and as you can see I added just a few small bling dots randomly in the center of the spiderwebs.

Have a Witchy Halloween

This cute baby girl sure doesn't look very 'witchy' to me!  But she was the perfect little baby girl stamp for my one year old great granddaughter's Halloween card this year.

This is an 'oldie and a goodie' from C. C. Designs, CCD-160, Halloween.

After stamping her on 110# Neenah cardstock, I colored her with my Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment with Versa Clair Monarch and heat embossed which made it nice and shiny.

I used Gina Marie Designs X-Stitched Rectangle Dies for the border and then an orange dotted Swiss patterned matting.  Both are mounted on a standard A2 card base.

With Love at Christmastime

When I look at this stamp I think about 'good things come in small packages'.  It's a Rubbernecker stamp called Winter Bear with Bird.  You know how most of their stamps are in small envelopes, right?  You open it and here you find this sweet bear with the bird perched on his ear.

Definitely will be a card filled with love this Christmas!

After stamping, I colored him with Copic markers and used the Gina Marie Oval X-stitched Die for die cutting.  I covered the A2 card base with Christmas plaid paper and then secured the colored image in the center, slightly to the top.  I added the banner cut sentiment at the bottom to complete the card design.

Spooky Time

We're still counting down the days til Halloween and these Spooky Pumpkins from Polkadoodles are ready for all the little trick or treaters!

For this card, I selected three of the pumpkins from the Autumn Fall Halloween Treats Digital pack and layered them overlapping slightly.  I used my Copic markers for coloring each of the silly faced pumpkins.  After stamping the 'spooky time' across the top of the Boneshakin' Halloween paper, I mounted the image on a black A2 card base.

Next I die cut the Polkadoodles 'Halloween' die out of solid orange cardstock and secured it at the bottom of the card design.  Lastly, I added the black organza ribbon at the fold and added the pumpkin charm in the knot to complete the card design.

Ruby Trill

For my Christmas card sharing today, I've selected another larger Penny Black stamped image.  This one is called Ruby Trill.

After stamping using Memento ink, I completed the coloring using my Copic markers.  I returned the completed image to my Misti and stamped the sentiment using Black Versa Clair ink.

Next I die cut the decorative edge using Tattered Lace's Beaded Chain Nesting Square Dies.

The 6" card base is covered with a stringed pearl patterned paper.  Then I secured the completed image in the center of the card to complete the card design.

Got Candy?

In a world where people who are different are usually looked down upon, it is both refreshing and heartwarming to find an artist who includes images like Little Marina in her Costume Parade package for Halloween. But Beccy's Place did!

While I don't personally have a child in a wheelchair, my daughter grew up with two special friends that both have been in wheelchairs their entire life.  I made today's card for my daughter and included extra's for her to make for her friends.  You can imagine how surprised she was also!

After sizing the image to just under 4" tall, I layered the confetti digital paper under the image, then printed.  I used my Copic markers for the coloring.  When complete, I used the  Pink & Main Rounded Stitched Rectangle die for the edging and then added the solid blue matting.  I secured both pieces to an A2 standard card base.  Lastly I added the 'Got Candy' tag from my sentiment stash and covered the tag hole with the magenta enamel dot.

Christmas Cheers!

Here's another peek at one of my 2023 Christmas cards I recently made during a retreat.  I enjoyed this Stamping Bella 'Girl with Bubbly' because she was a larger stamp.  While a lot of the Stamping Bella gals are tiny, it's nice to find one that has some size to her also.  It just gives a little more freedom to shade better with the Copic markers.

I guess you'd say I colored her in non-traditional colors also, I really didn't think about that part.  I just wanted her to be bright and festive.

I used one of my newer dies upon completion of the coloring.  It's from PinkFresh Studios and it's called Ornate Borders.  Because of her height, I cut the burgundy card base to fit the image and used a top fold.  I then added the bright blue dotted Swiss matting that coordinated will with her dress.  After securing those pieces together, I added the completed image in the center and finished the design with an additional piece of coordinating washi tape.

Christmas Joy!

This afternoon I'm sharing this beautiful Penny Black image called Christmas Blush.  I made this for a card challenge swap for 'New Stamp' Challenge.

I'm a huge Penny Black fan and one reason is because of their larger images.  This one sure didn't let me down as it barely would fit on the 6" card front!

After stamping, I used my Copic markers for coloring then returned it to my Misti and stamped the sentiment.

I selected a very decorative reddish rose patterned paper for the mat and die cut it using the Tattered Lace's Hemstitch Square Die.  After securing the image to the matting, then I was able to secure both to the 6" square card base to complete the design.

Don't Forget Your Broomstick

As you can tell from all the Polkadoodle Halloween cards, I really enjoyed the entire digital set that was released.  I just found them to be easy to mix and match and overlay with the digital papers to make super cute and easy cards.  I don't normally make this many Halloween cards, but when you're having a lot of fun, it's easy to keep going to the next design!

For this design, I used two images from the Autumn Treats package, the witches caldron and the lab jar or eyeballs!  Once I had those sized and placed near each other I layered the paper from Boneshakin' Halloween Craft Papers behind the images and printed.

I used my Copic markers for the coloring and then trimmed the edges to fit the Orange A2 sized card base.  After securing the image, I cut the sentiment separately and added a wide foam strip behind it, then secured it at an angle across the right side of the card to complete the design.
