The Path of Your Dreams

For today's featured card I used the Whimsy Stamp Company, Tilly Dancing / Twinkle Toes, by Elisabeth Bell.

After stamping on Neenah card stock and Copic coloring, I used the Gina Marie stitched rectangle die for the image piece and the coordinating blue mat.  The card base is 6 x 6 and the same paper as the blue mat, then an additional mat of yellow patterned paper was added.  The dotted strip through the middle is washi tape and the kraft card stock strips, above and below the tape, are die cut using a open weave scallop edging.  The smaller blue tag was punched with the Creative Memories tag punch.  The sentiment is chipboard and is mounted connecting both tags with a white  rosette with a deep aqua center.

I hope you enjoy this card and step out to the path of your dreams...

For Keeps Sake Fall Retreat 2017

Seventeen ladies attended the For Keeps Sake Fall Retreat, September 22-24, 2017, at the Moody-Gunter Center just outside Batesburg, SC.  The  perfect weather and of course the excellent meals prepared by Ms. Bonnie, helped everyone accomplish a lot of their projects from card making to scrapbooking to organizing supplies.
My sweet friend Jennie stepped up and really helped me coordinate the event this time since I've been out of state and trying to move.  Many, many thanks go out to her!

The theme for the event was CREATE YOUR OWN RAINBOW, and the shirts were printed locally at The Specialtee Shop in Batesburg.
And of course, little coordinating gift bags....
So the work began with the steady sound of CM Corner rounders clicking (a noise we all know when we hear it ) and beautiful creations from cards to scrapbook memory pages appeared!
Everyone references this retreat by the food first, then friends, then the work.... when it's time to eat ~ AGAIN ~ we're off to the new kitchen facility.
We even had an unplanned matching dessert!

We played Crafter's bingo for nightly prizes, which included a different two page layout of rainbow designed papers~
Saturday we played the envelope challenge, where everyone is given the same supplies to make a card or page layout.  The rules are you must use part of everything given and can add two of your own items.  Look at the wide array of great ideas!

Even the devotion on Sunday by Pastor Alan tied in with the rainbow theme of Seeking to find your rainbow!
And a few photos to share ~

Can you tell we all think the world of Pastor Alan?

It truly was a blessed weekend with these great ladies.
And the SPRING retreat will be here before we know it ~
We can't hardly wait!
SPRING DATE:  April 13-15, 2018
FALL DATE:  Sept 21-23, 2018

A Fresh Start

For my second entry in the Unity {Show & Tell} Sketch challenge
I selected their New Life stamp set.

The image is stamped on Bright White Neenah card stock and copic colored. I used several metallic pens for accenting. I actually used the shape of the stamp to trim for the extra border around the flowers.  Scraps of yellow and a wood grain paper were used for the background papers.  The sentiment was also stamped on Neenah card stock and then I added the metal ladybug charm and a few dots of bling in the bottom of the jar.  I used a chocolate brown thin twine to tie around the image before adhering to the Kraft card base.
This card will also be submitted as my 'card with a bug' for ATCM.

Beautiful Belle

Today's featured card is using a new stamp by
Rubbernecker Stamps.
Belle, (670-01) is absolutely eloquent and makes a lovely card.
There were several 'ladies of the 50's' at the Scrapbooking Expo
where I purchased my stamp, and believe me, it was
extremely hard to decide which one to select!

I selected shades of pink for this card and will be using it for a birthday greeting.  Once I finished the front, I decided any sentiment on the front would be distracting with this layout, so I elected to do my sentiment stamping inside.
The possibilities are endless with this beautiful lady!

To My Brilliant Friend

Unity {Show & Tell} has a new challenge posted and
this time it's a sketch card.
Sketch cards are not my favorite thing to do,
but I've been trying not let them
intimidate me and go for it!

I started with a Kraft card base and orange embossed background
mat.  I added a left over edge of black doily under the floral strip,
then wrapped with a green metallic thread.
Unity's Angie Girl, Aleah seemed perfect for the fall colors
I wanted to use for this card.
After Copic coloring and edging with the YR23, I used foam
tape to raise the image above the embossed background
paper and the floral printed strip.
I love using the 'bowed' sentiment technique that my friend Janet
taught me. Then the sentiment was finished with two enamel dots by Gina Marie Designs.

Dear Teacher ~ A Life That Touches Others...

Today's card is in celebration of TEACHERS.
As the school year begins,
their endless hours of work both during school time
and otherwise has to come from their heart.
How grateful we are as parents for them!

For my Teacher card I combined the Phyllis Harris stamp
...smooches and stuff
and the Unity Stamp sentiment
...A life that touches
others goes on forever

I encourage you to take a moment soon to remember a special teacher in your life
 or that of your child's
that has made a difference.
I'm sure they would really love to know you appreciate them!
