Sending Big Bear Hugs!

This afternoon I'm sharing with the Classic Design Challenge as our team rolls out the December challenge.

Our sponsor for this month is Lee Holland Illustrations and I'm sharing his Polar Bear and Penguin image.

I sized the image to about 3 1/2" tall and printed it on Neenah 110# cardstock.  All the coloring was done with Copic markers.  I added a coordinating blue liner mat and then the silver and blue sparkly diamond patterned paper.  I've used a 6" square white card base for this one.  The sentiment was done on my computer and printed on the same blue as the liner mat.  After securing it to the bottom center of the card, I added the organza ribbon and bow at the fold of the card to complete the design.

Be sure to visit the Classic Design Challenge blog to see all the Design Team cards and to add yours!

Day 30 ~ My Joy Is In My Father in Heaven

What a perfect way to summarize the 30 Days of Christmas Cards Challenge on Beccy's Place.  Our challenge is to create a project that brings us Joy!

I've selected the "Lighthouse Digital Image" from Sweet N' Sassy with the scripture from Matthew 5:16.

For many years, I've told my Dad he is my lighthouse.  He's always stood by me through all of my life's ups and downs. The thing I'm most grateful for with both my parents, is my Christian upbringing. So many never have the blessings of loving Christian parents.  I did and I am very proud of that.

While Dad is my earthly lighthouse, my Heavenly Father will always be my guiding light.  My ability to color, craft, write about my hobby and so much more come only through His abundant grace.  I can do nothing without Him, and all glory goes to Him!  I am one blessed gal!

This card  brings me joy ~ I can look at it and my heart smiles.  I am grateful for Korin, the designer and owner of Sweet n' Sassy stamps for the Christian work that she does. Her design team is amazing in the things they create also.

Please know how much I appreciate your time for reading my blog today and every day that you happen upon it.  May my crafting bring you a little bit of Joy also.

Zany Grumpy Goose

It's 'Z' day!  I'm really a bit sad this month long challenge is ending.  My only regret is that I didn't see it in time to start at the beginning. But now that I know it's an annual event at Beccy's Place, I will sure be looking for it again next year!

For my Z card I've selected Beccy's 'Zany' Grumpy Goose  with a sentiment from the same package. I love how just making his had red makes him 'a Christmas animal'. I couldn't help but think about my grand daughter with her four month old baby.  I think we all remember those sleepless nights where this sentiment would have been so appropriate!

After sizing the goose and sentiment to fit the front on an A2 card, I printed it on Neenah 110# cardstock.  I used my Copic markers for coloring, which are referenced below.

I die cut the edge of the completed image using Whimsy Stamps 'ZIG ZAG' Stitched Rectangles.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out, even though sketch cards seem to not be something I love to do.

I do hope you've enjoyed the cards
shared for this challenge.  Thanks Beccy for a great month of sharing!  I'm not through sharing Christmas cards however so please continue to stop in to see what's up next.

CAS ~ Decking the Halls

Just when we thought 'Z' was next, Beccy's Place challenge throws out the CAS card curve ball!   But we all knew a couple of 'other' cards would be needed to get us to the 30 days.  I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying every one of the challenges!

For my Clean and Simple card, I've selected Angie Blom's Decking for the Holidays digital package.  One of the single ornaments in this set is perfect for this style card.

I sized the ornament to just under 4" tall and colored it with two shades of Copics, which are referenced below.

Next I used the Tattered Lace Hemstitch die for the stitched ragged edges.  I secured the image on a white card base measuring about 4 1/2" square.   Lastly I added diamond Stickles to the center of the snowflakes and set it aside to dry.

Yummy in My Tummy!

Who doesn't love a warm cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate during the holiday season.  This super cute little bear image is from Sweet 'n Sassy, Winter Bears.

This shaker card is my entry for the letter 'Y' in Beccy's Place 30 days of Christmas Cards ~ Yummy in My Tummy!

After stamping the image and sentiment, I used my Copic markers for coloring.

I used Whimsy Stamps Shaker Maker Rectangles to die cut the red polka-dotted mat and the aqua backing.  For the shaker contents, I mixed the aqua and red beads to give the card a little more contrast.

X-traordinary Snowflakes

We are now up to the letter 'X' in Beccy's Place 30 Days of Christmas Cards.

I've selected one of Sweet 'N Sassy's older stamps, Snowflakes Flourish. I thought this was a good selection since each snowflake is X-ceptionally perfect and never duplicated.  No matter how many billions of them fall from the sky, there are never two the same... and our eyes only see the snowflake as a white dot of snow.

I selected the light blue striped paper for the card background.  It has small white dots through the paper and I thought would be great with this large stamp.

After trimming to fit the 5 x 7 card base, I lined up the snowflake stamp on the right and the sentiment (from the same stamp set) on the left.   I used Versa Clair Blue Belle ink for this process.

After securing this piece to the card base, I added the white snowflake buttons and then made a nice big dark blue organza bow at the fold.  I'd like to do this one again and emboss the stamp.

A Word from the Wise Men

For the letter 'W' in Beccy's Place 30 day of Christmas Cards, I've selected C. C. Designs, Tiny Wisemen.

I stamped the image and sentiment on Neenah 110# cardstock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  Then I carefully cut the image out and set it aside.

For the background, I used the Momenta Starry Background plate die and the gold patterned paper.  Then I cut the solid gold cardstock to fit behind the die, allowing the gold stars to shine through.  Those two layers were secured to the A2 card front.

I added a couple of thin foam squares on the back of the image, then secured the tiny wise men to the bottom edge of the patterned paper.  After die cutting the sentiment into a small fishtail banner shape, I added it to the top left corner of the card.

Lastly I wrapped the red organza ribbon around at the fold, and knotted it at the top to complete my design.

Vixen Is Peeping in With Holiday Hugs and Kisses

What wonderful memories we all share of all of Santa's reindeer pulling his sleigh.  Vixen was the youngest reindeer until Rudolph joined on the foggy night.

I've used Great Impressions, Reindeer Peeping stamped image and in a Mosaic Moments, Puff 'n Stuff die for my entry in Beccy's Place, 30 days of Christmas Cards.

I borrowed this die at a retreat last month and made several card 'fronts' without the circles. The die is actually made for scrapbooking pages but worked pretty good for this card design.

I stamped the reindeer and colored him with Copic markers. Then used a standard circle die measured to fit in the 'dip' of the envelope flap.  I laid the circle on the card base and marked where it needed to be cut across the top.  After securing the completed image, I then stamped the sentiment using Versa Clair Blue Belle ink.

From the Fullness of HIS Grace

Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you.

May your day be truly blessed!

For my Thanksgiving card I've selected the free October image from Beccy's Place newsletter.

Before printing the image, I added the scripture from John 1:16... perfect for Thanksgiving Day!

Then I printed the image on Neenah 110# cardstock and colored with my Copic markers.

Next I die cut the edge with the Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die.  I love the yellow gold plaid with this image.

After die cutting the plaid with the same set, I secured it to the front of the olive green card base.  I cut and added the chocolate brown liner cardstock and the image, securing both on top of the plaid background.  After tying the twine around the top of the card base, I added the leaf in at the knot and tied a knotted bow. The little leaf with it's touch of gold is just perfect for this card.

'Uniquely' Colored Christmas Blessing

Today's challenge letter is 'U' in Beccy's Place 30 days of Christmas Cards.

For my entry I selected Stampendous, 'Candy Canes'.

While I know my Copic shades pretty good, I don't know their color naming.  I started by searching to see if there was a Copic name that started with a 'U'.  I found that E29 is Burnt Umber,  I've used that for the center of the greenery.

I also decided to use a Salmon colored bow for non traditional Christmas colors, making it 'uniquely' colored.

The pretty eyelet edge on the oval shape was done using Gina Marie's Petite Looped Lace Oval die.  The card base is a standard A2, covered with the coordinating olive patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment 'Christmas Blessings' at the bottom.  Then I simply secured the image to the front of the card to complete the design.

Toyshop Helper

Finally the letter 'T' is here in Beccy's Place 30 Days of Christmas Cards Challenge! I've waited and waited to share this image that I love so much...

Mo's Digital Pencil has the cutest expressions and this Toyshop Helper is certainly one of those.

I've paired him with the Fun Stamper's Journey's 'Tinsel Tangle' (more 'T's!) sentiment of Texting Santa.

The little elf and his toy caterpillar are colored with Copic markers.  The die cut edges on the image and aqua matting are done with the Penny Black, Grateful Stackers set.

All the layers are secured on a red cardstock A2 card base and a shiny bling dot added to the tag to complete my design.

Hope you are being good, cause Santa's elf helpers are watching too!
