Love Ya To Pieces

Happy Monday! Today I'd like to share a card I made for a 'Stamped Border' challenge.  For this card I used Pink & Main's, To Pieces.  This is an adorable set with several bears and sentiments plus the jigsaw puzzle pieces.

I decided to use the pair of bears and the continuous jigsaw piece border.  I stamped them on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.    When completed I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the border.  I covered an A2 card base with a dotted patterned paper and then added the colored image at an angle.  How cute is that!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards.

Happy Forever!

Today is a special day for a quiet young man that I have watched grow up for quite some time.  It's a day of celebration and he and his love become Mr. & Mrs. Like many couples, they are facing the challenges of the virus and the effects on their special day.  I am sure they will remember the challenges as well as the support from their wonderful family members to make this the best day of their lives.  I pray and wish this new couple many, many years of a happy marriage.

For my card to them, I selected Lili of the Valley's digi named Boating.

To make this card, I sized the digital image to a bit smaller than an A2 sized card base.  I printed this on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used a simple stitched rectangle die to get the stitched look.  I selected a coordinating green patterned paper and trimmed it to just slightly less than the size of the card base.  I used a sticky back braided ribbon across the top of the card front the edges behind the patterned paper.  Next I secured the pattered paper to the card base.  Then I added the colored image.   I added a glue dot to the back of the 'Forever' charm and added it to the edge of the braided ribbon.  I added a matching green enamel dot to cover the charm hole and then it appears to have a brad holding it on.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards.

You Da Best!

Today I'm sharing my project card with the Colour Crazy Design Team Week 34.  Our sponsor this week is Stampers Delights and my image is Chibi Winner Boy.

I wanted to make this card as a congratulations or proud of you card.  It is so important to give our children and grandchildren cards too ~ tell them how proud you are of them often!

I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring..  I used the Gina Marie Design Big & Little Chain Rectangle die on the image.  I covered the A2 card base with a bright 'star' patterned paper and then added a tilted red mat.  Next I added the colored image and finished the card with three enamel dots.

I hope you will check out the Colour Crazy Blog challenge to see the other Design Team members cards and also to enter YOUR cards in the challenge.

Have a Magical Birthday!

Today I'm celebrating my daughter's 36th birthday with this special Harry Potter card.  No matter what your age, the magical writings of J. K Rowling's series or the talents and special effects of the movies is bound to grab your attention.

These cute images are from the Kindred Stamps, although this set has been discontinued. Thankfully I was able to borrow them!

To make this card, I took the die for the frame and lightly traced around it on Neenah card stock.  Then I was able to put it in the Misti and line the stamps up in the right place.   I used my Copic markers for coloring and a gold gel pen for the stars and a few other accents.

I die cut the multi window frame out of a yellow and gold patterned paper and also cut a black liner to fit just smaller than the A2 card base.  Next I added the colored image to the black mat and topped with the die cut frame. I know she is going to love it!

Never Will I Leave You...

What a wonderfully comforting scripture Proverbs 15:5 is, especially with the situations that we are facing every day due to the virus.

My card and image today is from Graciellie's Designs.  It's an older image that has been discontinued from her site ~ one I'm glad I have in my collection.

To make today's card, I sized the butterfly a bit wider that the A2 card front and turned at a slight angle.  I layered the sentiment close to it and printed on Neenah card stock.

I used my Copic markers for coloring and then the Gina Marie Designs Nesting Labels 2 die to achieve the cut edges.   I also used the Sizzix Thinlets Festive Repeat dies by Tim Holtz  to make the gold striped accent piece.  I mounted a coordinating orange print on the A2 card base, then added the gold accent followed by the colored butterfly, slightly tucking the edge of the image in the vertical strips.

Let's Go Country

I thought today's card would be a great follow up after yesterday's Red Boots.  Bringing in a little fall-like country card, I'm featuring Polka Dot Orchard's Rebuild Yourself by Jeanie Hays.  This digital package has one image and seven sentiments.

Here's my completed card, then a few details.

For this card, I sized the image to fit my A2 card front with the Let's Go Country sentiment close to the girl and fence.  I printed it on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I die cut the edge of the card front using My Favorite Things, Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die and then cut a thin green mat to match the girls jeans.  I had pre-selected the cowboy boot background paper so that I could use the same colors in my image. After cutting it to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", I mounted it to the A2 sized card base, then added the completed image and mat.

Don't forget the IG hop is still in progress this week as well as 30% off all Polka Dot Orchard images.  Click HERE to go to the beginning of the Instagram Hop.  Thank you for visiting here and commenting.

Forget the Glass Slippers

For this card, I used one of the pre-designed images with the sentiment to the right of the boot.  I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic markers for coloring.  I covered the A2 card base with a coordinating red lace print matting and used the Gina Marie Designs Nesting Label 2 die set for cutting the image.

Collaboration Hop

Today is a very special day for my Polka Dot Orchard Design Team. We have collaborated with Angie Blom Digital Designs for an Instagram Hop and will be showcasing four new releases from each company!

Here is the Instagram info so you can see ALL of the new releases and Design Team cards.

For my contribution, I selected Polka Dot Orchard's new release, Remember Me, by Jessica Pickeral.  I made two cards with the image and sentiments from this digital package.

For both cards I colored the traveling girl with my Copic markers and cut her out.  For the first card, I used the TCW Lace Medallion Stencil and Distressed Oxide Peeled Paint.  I stamped the sentiment on the stencil after allowing it to dry.  I cut the stripped paper to fit an  A2 card base, then used a small brown twine to make the webbed ribbon at the bottom of the paper.  Next I added that to the card base, then added the medallion stencil piece and the traveling girl.

For the second card I used a map paper to cover the yellow A2 card base. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and die cut to a tag shape.  I added it to the card base along with the traveling girl covering the edge.

For my selection in the new Angie Blom Digital Designs, I selected Road Trip, Girl and made these two cards.

When I sized these, I also added the sentiments close to the image.  I printed both on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic marker for coloring.  For the first one I used Whimsy Stamps Zig Zag Rectangle die for the colored image.  I matted the printed floral on an A2 card base, then added the completed image.  To finish the card, I added the brown twine and the arrow charm.

For the second card, after coloring I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die cut for the image and Gina Marie Slimline Stitched Scallop for the map strip.  I mounted the image, map strip and the arrow charm on to a black 5 1/2" square card base.

Botanical Flora Angel Fairy

Today I'm joining Team A on the Colour Crazy Blog Challenge  (week 33) to bring you a project card from Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps, this week's sponsor.

I printed the fairy image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I've reference my color combination below for you also.

I wanted my card to focus on the image and elected not to add a sentiment. Instead, I was inspired by a layout by Donna Lewis on the Pink & Main Art Gallery.

I really like the way that she took the smaller image and used the multiple double matting to fill in the card front.  I found a pad that had the matching greens that were in my card and followed her basic layout as my sketch.

The multiple matted layers really bring the focus of your eyes to the image.  Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been working on.  Please visit the other artist on the Colour Crazy Blog Challenge and also enter your card creations.

From Baby... To My Mommy

I have a friend who loves to order cards from me.  I tell her she is my 'challenge' girl as she has a wonderful imagination and is always wanting a unique card created.  It was no surprise when she requested today's card ~ but was a bit of a challenge as always.

Her message read...
"I have a God daughter being born tonight or tomorrow. Can you make me a special card for her?  I would love something from the baby to her mommy."

Challenge accepted, of course!

I decided on the Whimsy Stamp image, Little Angel Mother Digital, by designer Crissy Armstrong.

I sized the digital to fit an A2 card front and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Simply Stamped Peekaboo Stitched Oval Frame die cut to make the scalloped edged frame out of green striped paper.  I trimmed the colored image to fit just inside the frame, then mounted it and the frame on a pink A2 card base.

Now the special part...

There is a popular poem that is from a one year old child to their mother. After reading that, I was able to make a similar poem that would relate from the newborn baby girl to her mother.  I die cut the words with Memory Box's Wrapped Scalloped Rectangle Die and then glue it to the inside of the card.

I really like the way this turned out and so did my 'challenge gal'.  I'm sure it was special for the new mother to receive also.
