Cherry Pie Wishes

I came across one of my La La Land stamps last weekend that just looked like she was ready to be made into a card.
My table mate at the retreat just happen to have a a great piece of cherry paper with several vintage kitchen items on the border ~ perfect for this image.  After Copic coloring, I used the Pink & Main Large Stitched Oval die set for both the image and the sentiment.

Here's Baking Marci, ready to be send Sweet Birthday Wishes to someone special.

Your Block of Friends

I recently completed this card order for a client's best friend.  Now that it's been delivered, I wanted to share it with you today.

Like many of the Art Impressions stamps,  they convey our thoughts and laughs of everyday life.  Quilt Sisters is a perfect stamp for our Girlfriends.

It is amazing how the people start to remind us not only of ourselves but of our friends also.  This stamp lends freedom of changing hair color and skin tones to match any group of ladies.

The special friend getting this card was also a quilter, so I added several sewing stamps on a solid card stock matted in gray.

And the finishing touch to the details ... adding a heart stitched border under the matted sentiment with a pair of scissors charm.

This is a crazy world today and we are certainly blessed with our special friends.  Take a moment to tell them today how special they are to you!

Thanks for stopping by today - and taking time to read my blog in YOUR busy life.  YOU are special to me!

It's Your Day to Celebrate

Today's featured card was made for my step daughter's birthday earlier this month and also entered for my 'family' card for
the Jenn Challenge on Addicted to Card Making 2.0 ~ The Journey Forward.

The image is one of the Unity Stamp Angie Girls, Lauren Girl, by designer Angie Blom and the wavy edge was cut with a combination of two Spellbinder dies.

The Jenn Challenge is very important to me as it is done in memory of our close friend Jennifer Raines.  Each month the challenge focuses on one thing that meant a lot to her
....this month Family.
I am extremely blessed to have a beautiful step daughter that has always allowed me to be a part of her life and a grandmother to her children.  I read somewhere.... the changing times are dropping 'step' and replacing it with 'bonus'.  Personally,  I think that's a great word for my relationship  ~ She is my Bonus Daughter!

Thank you for stopping by today and allowing me to sharing my card with you.

Hugs & Kisses

I have so many photos, projects, and stories to share over the next few weeks with you from another great retreat this past weekend  ~ but this morning I wanted to post a quick get well card I made yesterday with Whimsy Stamps Company'Spring Fairy by Mariana Fedotova.

I had pre-stamped lots of images prior to the retreat, and this image has a bunny to the the right of the fairy. While normally a stamper would mask over prior to stamping, that wasn't an option at this point.  So - what's the next best option? - add a tab on top.

Thanks for stopping by this morning - Hope you'll keep coming and and bring a friend or too also.

Find Joy in Your Journeys

Earlier this week I posted Whimsy's Beach Chair Penguin celebrating South Carolina's Sunshine and beaches.
Another SC specialty is the protection of the Sea Turtle's nestings. For today's card,  I used DoveArts, Sea Turtle to make a birthday card for a friend who is a Volunteer with the Friends of Hunting Island (SC) Sea Turtle Conservation Program. Each Friday from about May to October them comb the beaches for the nesting and then hatching of the Loggerhead Sea Turtles to protect the nests, eggs, and the hatchlings.  It is amazing to see some of the photos and videos capturing 50-180 hatch after being hidden in the nest for almost 75 days!

I always enjoy the great detail that comes with any DoveArt image.  They may take a little longer to color, but the end result is always worth the extra time too.  This image also has so many possibilities for different occasions from birthdays, retirements, encouragement etc.

Last night I got an update that the sea turtle had arrived and now has happily found a new framed home back near the SC Coast.

I hope you will visit the Whimsy Store today and see what special stamps and digital products you can find.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I'd love for you to invite your friends over to follow my blog also.

Introducing Mary and Joseph Christmas Border Die

This morning I'd like to introduce you to one of the new dies being released by Gina Marie Designs.  This beautifully detailed silhouette die shows Mary and Joseph  as they traveled to Bethlehem.  What a touching scene that is remembered by Christians around the world and will certainly be popular on many Christmas cards this season.

Here is the Marketing card that is being featured  with the new Mary & Joseph Christmas Border Die on Wholesale Crafting Supplies.

For those who have ordered from Gina Marie Designs before, do you recognize anything in this card design?  The background (starry night) is from the back of the Gina Marie product packaging!  I laid a piece of light blue vellum over it to soften the look and secured both to the black card base.  Then I added the cut die - gluing the right side, but adding foam squares under the Mary and Joseph so that they appeared closer and the town of Bethlehem appears to be farther away  The string addition covers the seam between the edge of the die and the card base and gives you the ability to tie your tag with a scripture or other sentiment.  My sentiment is also mounted with a foam square to secure it in the raised position.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I do hope you will visit the Wholesale Crafting Supplies  to see Gina Marie Designs vast selection of dies and other products.

Because of You!

I started today's card for - 'A Card with a Tag' swap - and after completing the coloring, decided to make the multitude of shaker easels that I posted last week.  Thankfully, this little fellow didn't get completely lost in the masses and did re-surface to be completed and mailed to my swap partner in New York.

The Whimsy Stamp image is from the Digital Products section and is designed by Crissy Armstrong.  Penguin Fun In Fall is one of the new digital images for the month of September and has been appearing quite a bit throughout all the crafting sites on the social media sites.   This image just warms your heart!

I also used the Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die Set, a bright orange memories matting paper and three flat back metallic pearls. The miscellaneous sentiment tag is perfect for this colorful card ....

The WORLD is a more COLORFUL place because of YOU!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Your comments are always appreciated.

Carolina Sunshine On My Mind

Today's card was created for a card swap on Addicted to Card Making 2.0 for a card about your home state.  When I made this card, the conditions of today's weather were certainly not on my mind....    However, I'm glad my swap partner in Arizona has received my Whimsy card that truly represents the South Carolina We Love!

Thank you for stopping by and for praying for all those affected by the current hurricane.

Make Way For Santa

Good morning from Pam in South Carolina ~ It's my turn on the Whimsy Blog today ~ and I've selected Crissy Armstrong's Christmas Mermaid Digital image to make a Shaker Card with an  underwater scene for her.

Here's my completed project and the directions so hopefully you can make your own for the upcoming season.

First I did several background choices, using a open bubble stamp with different shades of oxide inks stamped onto navy blue paper and sat those aside to dry.  I used an under the sea window die on a wave embossed paper and by using the DIGITAL image, it allowed me to size the Christmas Mermaid to fit exactly into the opening.    After printing the image, I hand drew in the scales,  Copic colored, and then fussy cut her out. To add a little extra bling, I covered her tail fin with silver sequins and added several clear flat back bubbles and the red starfish.  For the shaker addition I used light blue seed beads.  Once sandwiched all together and I finished the top by coloring the sea weed and adding the banner 'Make way for Santa'  Now Christmas Mermaid is ready for mailing or decorating my home.

I hope you will check out all the products on Whimsy Stamps, especially the Digital Products.

Thanks so much for visiting the Whimsy Blog today.
Your comments are always welcome.
May your day be Blessed ~ Pam

Early Fall Blessings

Last week I was inspired by one of my fellow Design Team members by the cute shaker card she had made using Whimsy Stamp's Penguin Fun In Fall Digital stamp.  Knowing that I was co-hosting our monthly Mission Movers group at my home last night, I decided to make a smaller version of a shaker card for each of these ladies.  Those of you who make cards are now shaking your heads as you do the math, right?  Yes, about 15 ladies, plus add a couple in case you mess up one or two.... So for the next six days there were penguins in various stages all over the craft room.

Here's the final 'waddle' of penguins...

I used the Gina Marie Designs Double Stitched In and Out Hexagon die set and also each are mounted on a 3" self adhesive easel back stand.

This was a project that was very filling for me personally as I prayed for each of my friends, and I as selected the word Blessed to go on the front ~ for they Each are a Blessing to me being new to this church family.  God is so good ~ every day!

Thank you for stopping by today - Be sure to visit Whimsy Stamps and especially the Digital section.

New Layered Butterfly Die Release

Today's featured card was made to introduce the new August release of Gina Marie Designs
Layered Butterfly Die, I'm so excited to show you how neat this extra feature she has designed.  Can you see something different than most butterfly dies?

With my card enlarged, you can see that she has made the body of the butterfly a separate die piece.  This opens up a lot of possibilities for our card making - I had butterflies all over my craft table trying out this new die with different combinations.

The changes that a butterfly goes through have always reminded us of our Faith walk ~ what better scripture to add to any card with a butterfly than Hebrews 11:1.

Enjoy Life's Simple Pleasures

When I need a card with a quiet, gentle message...

I always go to the drawer with all my  stash of Unity stamps by  Designer Phyllis Harris.  Today's card, Be Present, is just that kind of card ~

After Copic coloring the image and adding pleats, I used the Gina Marie Designs  Pleated Lace Rectangle  die set for both the image and the floral matting paper.  Both were then mounted on a A2 size white card base leaving a white border all the way around.  I cut the sentiment in a fishtail banner pattern and added three enameled lavender dots after getting everything secured on the card.

My wish today is for YOU to Enjoy Life's simple pleasures.
Thank you for stopping by.

Dear Dreamy Dragon ~

You just never know when Whimsy Stamps Dreamy Dragon by designer Sylvia Zet might show up in your mailbox.

She's been know to arrive for a milestone birthday, a special get well wish, a card of encouragement or just about any occasion that comes up. What a fun stamp to color in lots of wild color combinations and one that is sure to bring a big smile to whomever opens that envelope.

There are tons of great sentiment stamps that fit well with this image.  The one that is is generic enough to cover several types of occasions is by D. R. S. Designs.

Pretty cute, huh?

Thanks for stopping by today and for following my blog.  I appreciate your comments and treasure them.

I Will Be With You

For today's featured card I used Whimsy Stamps' DoveArt, Water Mill
by designer Jennifer Dove.
This beautiful mountain scene is very detailed like a lot of the DoveArt images which allows you to create depth and nice reflections in your cards.

After Copic coloring, I used a Spellbinder  Labels Two die set and mounted the image and mat on wood grain paper.
I love the scripture from Isaiah 43:2 to match up with this image.

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you

Thank you for stopping by today. I pray your day will also be blessed.

Choose Joy

Today's featured card is a combination of two stamps from Unity Stamps's Kit of the Month, April ~ 2016, Without Fear, Without Limits.  The bird stamp works well either stamped high as shown today or low as if he's on the ground with the branch above.  On today's card I added a generic branch of green leaves to extend the tree.

Then add a sentiment of your choice from Happy Birthday to Words of sympathy to Words of Encouragement or Thanks.. it's sure to be a pleasant surprise to be received.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope your day is filled with JOY also!

The Cutest Little Pumpkin In The Patch

It's September already ~ and here in the south we are all so glad to start feeling a bit of relief from the high summer heat waves and look forwarding to the fall which is our favorite time of the year!

Today card brings my first fall card using  one of Whimsy's new Fall Digital Releases ~ Crissy Armstrong's  A Girl and Her Pumpkin

For this card I printed the digital image on card stock and then selected just her "JEANS" and printed those on the Digital Autumn Beauty 5 Digital Paper
After Copic coloring the rest of the image I paper pieced her jeans in place and added a bit of shadows.

The cornstalks were done with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Die (815765016988) also out of various strips of the Autumn Beauty digital papers.

I love adding burlap to any country themed card.  The image and brown mat around her are cut using the My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle STAX die set.  The entire design is mounted on a 5 x 7 Kraft card base, lined with white.

This image is perfect for any fall event from birthdays, get well, parties to just a thinking of you.  I hope you will check out the Whimsy Stamps site and especially the Digital images which allow you another step of creativity.   Thanks so much for stopping by today!
