Our Polkadoodles Design Team challenge for this week was a Mermaid/Ocean card.
I've selected two Polkadoodle images - layering Winnie Mermaid - Mermazing Kisses under Winnie Starfish/ Sandcastles - Seahorse.
After printing on Neenah 110# cardstock, I used my Copic markers for the coloring.
After cutting the cardstock to 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" for the slimline, I die cut the lattice background piece to use as the shaker front. For this shaker, I used the cellophane bag method, adding the slimline bag to the lighter aqua background piece. Once tightly secured, then I added the green iridescent confetti glitter (Scrapsalot) to the front of the bag. Next I sealed the top of the shaker bag and secured it to the lattice front. I carefully placed and secured the die cut mermaid piece to the lattice and then added this 'sandwich' to the slimline card front using 1/4" double sided tape.
The shaker part turned out great using this method - allowing the confetti to move freely from the top to the bottom of the card.
Be sure to check out all the Design Team cards on this weeks Polkadoodle Challenge Blog. We'd love to see your entries too.
