Don't Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle

Today I want to share one of several C. C. Design cards I recently made using their Rockabilly Gals.  These are the cutest and work up quickly for nice cards.

To make this card, I stamped the girl image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Oval die for the edge of the colored image.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Fancy Greetings and the chain of hearts is from Pink & Main's Heart Border die set.

I used a pink 5 1/2" square card base and added a tiny heart background paper.  After adding the heart border, image and sentiment, I added the punched out hearts (from the border die) randomly on the image and sentiment.  To finish the card, I added the white ribbon with a double heart charm.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not JustScraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.

A True Classic

Polka Dot Orchard continues to have their Celebration sale with 35% off the digital stamps.  If you haven't shopped there yet or recently, you are going to be amazed at all the new products.

I hope you are a Facebook follower of Friends of Polka Dot Orchard as well.  Our Design Team members are making some amazing cards using some of the new images.

For my project card today, I selected A True Classic by artist Jeanie Hayes.

This image is so masculine - perfect for all kinds of sentiments. The digital package comes with this image and 4 sentiments.

To make today's card, I sized the image to fit the front of my A2 card and printed it on Neenah 110# card stock. I used Copic markers for coloring.  When completed, I selected the Memory Box Matinee Rectangle die set for all the edges.  To complete the card, I mounted all the layers on a Kraft card base.

It's Going To Be Beautiful Today

Today's card is a reminder for each of us to start the day off with 'It's Going to Be Beautiful Today'.  Amid all the turmoil of our world right now, our faith and positive outlook is essential to survive.

This cutie is from Lili of the Valley and is named New Hat.

To make today's card, I sized the image to fit an A2 card front and printed on Neenah 110# card stock.  I used Copic markers for coloring and the Penny Black Elegant Stitching for the edge.

I really liked this black paper with the roses. Not enough was showing when I started to make the standard A2 card, so I switched to a 5 1/2" square gray card base. The sentiment was from my box of bits & pieces and is also cut with the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die.

For My Friend

Today I'm sharing Polka Dot Orchard's Blessed Lives

Artist Jeanie Hays did an amazing job with these poppies and the sentiment is perfect for so many images.  In these times we simply can not tell our special friends enough how much they mean to us.

To make this card, I position the sentiment near the image of the poppies and sized to an A2 card front.  After printing on Neenah 110# card stock, I used my Copic markers for coloring.  I selected a background of deep to light pink to add contrast to the red poppies.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for both the image and the mat.

Be sure to check out all the new designs at Polka Dot Orchard.

I'm One Lucky Duck

Today I'd like to share my first  card using an Angie Blom Design image since she began her new adventure outside of Unity Stamp Co.  I know many of my followers are like me - we love our Unity Angie Girls and just about anything that she designs.

I was asked to make this card for a wedding anniversary, using one of her Lucky Ducks images.

Now isn't that just the cutest image!

To make the card, I sized the image to fit an A2 card front and colored it using my Copic markers.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the edges and then decided it was a bit large for a standard A2 card.  So I switched to a 5 1/2 " square pink card base and added the green patterned matting.  I finished the card with a white double organza bow and three pearls.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day 2020!

Reaching out today to wish my own Dad a wonderful day as I'm away at a crafting retreat several states away.

I'd like to share the card I made for my first love.

I selected Lili of the Valley's 'Workbench' image for his special card.  I sized the image for an A2 card base and printed it on Neenah 110# card stock.  I used Copic markers for coloring*.   I finished the image edge with Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and selected a blue matting paper.   After assembly, I added a brown twine bow to complete the card.

Grateful for Our Independence

Today is our mid-month posting for Jan's Digi Stamp Shop and her Design Team has been working on several great images to share with you today.  I hope you will take a minute to check out those new cards on Jan's Blog (click here) and also enter your card creations!

For my project card I selected the recently released, Independence Day Friends.

To make this card, I layered the red and blue fireworks across the top of my card layout.  Then I added the burger and chips image below the fireworks, slightly to the left so I would have room for the sentiment.

I colored the image using Copic markers (referenced below) and then used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the edges.  I cut a navy matting and die cut the edges of it also.  After adding both to the A2 card base, I added the crystal star to the toothpick in the burger.

Next I randomly added mini crystal dots to the firework 'stars'.  I pulled the word 'grateful' from Jan's Alone Together package. After die cutting it, I added a blue edge with Copic B28, then added to the card.  I completed the card with a matching blue organza bow.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.

Sketch Challenge

If you were to craft with me, you would know that I don't particularly like to do Sketch challenges.  But I do try occasionally, knowing it will help me grow in my crafting.

However my 'sneaky' friend Kerys not only laid out a Sketch challenge but added a color swatch to the challenge too!  Oh Boy!

Well, here's what I came up with using her sketch and her color swatch choices.

The Sketch...
The Color Swatch

For my card I selected Whimsy Stamps, Flowers for You by artist Crissy Armstrong.  Although this image is only available digitally now, I have the discontinued rubber stamp.  I stamped him on Neenah 110# card stock and colored with my Copic markers.  I used the Memory Box Matinee Rectangle die for the edges of the image and the stamped sentiment.

I mounted a green mat on the A2 sized card base, then added the image and the sentiment.  I added two micro thin blue sparkle washi tape pieces vertically on each side of the image.  Then I completed the card with three navy enamel dots in the top right corner.   And there you have my sketch challenge with a color swatch addition.
