Blessed to Serve a Risen Savior

Happy Easter Sunday!

What a day of rejoicing it should be ~ a day of celebration that we serve a Risen Savior!

Today I'm sharing a tag/bookmarker that I made for several friends for Easter.

For my image, I've used Jan's Digital Stamps, Dogwood Blooms.

When I started these, we were away from home for the weekend and I had printed a 'page full' of the design.  I decided to color each one, using completely different Copic markers.  Do you ever do that?  Challenge yourself to some little goal.  It helps sometimes to get yourself outside of your comfort zone.

I do like the way they turned out - each one unique, just like the friends that received them.

I used Momenta Notched Rectangle dies on each one.  Each had a slightly different shade of green background and the ribbons coordinated with the flowers.

This design colors up fairly quickly and can be used for so many occasions.  I hope you'll check out the Dogwood Blooms package on Jan's website.

Update: Found the photo of all six completed tags.

Happy Easter Gnome

It's time for the Polkadoodles Design Team to inspire you with a few last minute Easter cards!

I've selected Happy Easter Gnome made into this slimline design.

After sizing the image for my card front, I have colored the Gnome and the cute little chicks with bright and bold Copic colors.  For the background, I've used a cloud stencil and chalking inks.

Next I die cut the edges and secured the card front to the coordinating blue mat on my slimline base. I added the 'Egghunt' embellishment, several metallic brad eggs, and a lime green organza bow to complete the card design.

What a fun Easter card this turned out to be!

Disney and Friends Easter Greetings

Today I'm sharing several Easter cards that I made using Disney Characters.

Note:  I do not own these images therefore there isn't a reference for them.  These are coloring book images copied and sized for cards for my personal use.

Starting off with everyone's favorite, Winnie the Pooh! He's bringing a basket of Easter Bunny Wishes!

Followed by Silly Goofy ~ trying to blend in with his mint green outfit so he's not noticed.  Isn't he fun!

Tigger is always hard at work and play.  My friend Sue would love the pattern on these eggs!

A good one for an older boy - train full of colorful Easter eggs.

With Piglet we know every day is a Surprise!

All our little princess girls would love to get a Minnie Mouse Easter card!

Lastly for a mother of three - Mommy's need Easter greetings too!

Thank you for allowing me to share these with you.  As we enter this weekend of Good Friday and Easter Sunday, I hope that you will take a moment to thank our Risen Savior for your family and blessings.  For without Him we have no hope.  How blessed we are to know His love for us is unending and always forgiving.   May your weekend be filled with His blessings.

Pretty Purple Bunnies

For today's Easter card, I'm sharing these adorable Easter Bunnies from Di's Digi Stamps.  This image is 'Easter Bunnies Plantpot'. How do you like these PURPLE bunnies!

After sizing the image to just over 3" tall, I printed it on 110# Neenah cardstock.  I've used my Copic markers for all the coloring and have referenced the shades below for your reference.

I made the 6" card base with the blue/green cardstock, and used part of the scrap for the matting behind the completed image.  Love the piece of pastel eggs I found in my stash.

For the stitched and notched edges shown, I used Whimsy Stamps Notched Stitched Square dies. Next I secured each layer starting with the egg paper to the card base.  Lastly I added the Happy Easter bubble sticker at the top left corner.

Double Giraffe Easter Cards

Today I'm sharing a couple of Easter cards I made using Amanda Jayne Digital Stamps ~ my favorites of all her collections... Giraffes!

First up is her 'Easter Basket Giraffe' - isn't he the cutest!  Love the large basket and bow!  After Copic coloring him I used Tattered Lace Hemstitch Square dies for the image and the stripped background.  I mounted both on a deep purple card base and added the ribbon strip 'Happy Easter'.

For the second one, I used her 'Easter Giraffe' image.  Again I used my Copic markers for coloring,  I used a new die for the cut of the image.  it's called Label Stax 2 by My Favorite Things.    I used a green A2 size card base and cut the polka dotted mat about 1/2" smaller.  Once the back ground was secured, then I added the completed giraffe image in the center of the card base.  For the final touch, I added a strip of the Happy Easter ribbon that I had in my stash.

Happy Easter Shaker Card

During March, Polkadoodles Crafting gave away this cute Easter Chick image on the Kit and Clowder Facebook site. Today I'm sharing the Shaker Card that I put together using the  free image.

I started with sizing the image to about 3" tall, printing on Nennah 110# card stock.  Just a few Copic markers and this little image is all colored up.  I fussy cut as close to the line as I could and used a black marker to cover any white showing on all the cut edges.

For the background I cut the patterned paper to 4 x 5 and added the solid purple vertical strip.  Then I secured the little image to the center of the background.

Using a 4 1/2" x 5 " cellophane bag, I placed the completed image on the background piece inside the bag then added a heaping teaspoon of candy sprinkles on top of the image.   Next, seal the bag at the top then fold any excess on the sides, to the back and secure with washi tape.  Once all sides are tightly secured, then I used two sided tape and secured the 'shaker bag' to the front of the card base.  How's that for an EASY Shaker card!!!

They Fill the World with Beauty

Happy Monday and April also! Since it's the first Monday of the month, it's also the start of Jan's Digital Stamp Challenge.  For my Design Team card, I've selected her new Spring Flowers & Coffee set.  Be sure to grab this set while it's running at the New Release sale price.

In our world of digital stamps we all probably have plenty of Flower images.  But to me there is something uniquely different about this set.  Jan has arranged these flowers into a beautiful arrangement.  The rope addition with the hearts on the tassel really adds to the vase and the overall image.  Plus this package has three beautifully written sentiments.

After sizing the image to fit on an A2 card, I layered the sentiment to the right.  I used my Copic markers for coloring.  The die cut edge was achieved by using Penny Black's Elegant Stitching.  I mounted the background matting on the A2 card base, then added the completed colored image.

Can't wait to give this one to my daughter!

A Day to Celebrate!

Today I'm continuing the 7th Birthday Celebration at the Classic Design Challenge.  Another Sponsor for the month is Paper Nest Dolls and I'm using 'Bubble Bath Emma' for this birthday card.

I sized the image to just over 3" and printed it on 110# Neenah card stock.  All of the coloring was done with Copic markers.

I pulled the sentiment from my stash of prestamped sentiments and then matched the green matting to the sentiment paper.  For the completed image and green matting, I used Gemini's 'Scalloped Edge Square 2 die set.   After cutting, I secured both together.

The 6" card base is a deep grey color, to coordinate with the tub  I cut the embossed ivory paper to 5 1/2" square and secured it to the card base.  Knowing I wanted a ribbon and bow on the left side of the image, I turned the card base to open on the right side/fold on the left.

Next I added he image in the center and the sentiment on the right side.  For the final touch, I added the pink organza ribbon and bow at the fold.  Happy Month Long Birthday Classic Design Challenge!

Train Up a Child

Good afternoon from Morgan's Design Team and welcome to the April Challenge blog for Morgan's ArtWorld.

Today I've used Teddy 4 for my inspirational card and added the scripture verse from Proverbs 22:6.

When this image popped up as one of our choices for this posting, the scripture verse came to mind also.  As the father bear looks over the babies as they write and read, reminds us how important the father's role is in raising the children in the path of the Lord.

I sized the image to just under 4" and used my Copic markers for the coloring. I also printed the scripture separately. After matching up several shades of brown paper, I used the Gina Marie Designs, Label Six for the image, background and scripture pieces.

The card base is 6" square, covered with the darkest brown. I layered and secured the background, then the image and then the sentiment to the card base.

I think it turned out really nice and could be used for a new child or Father's Day or masculine greeting card.

Be sure to check out all the Design Team cards on Morgan's Artworld Challenge Blog for April.  We hope you'll add your card in also.

You Don't Look a Day Older...

Happy first day of April!  I'm posting today with the Critter Crazy Challenge Design Team as we open the new challenge for the month.

I've selected the digital package 'Birds of a Feather' by artist Beccy Muir of Beccy's Place.

For this card, I sized the big eyed bird to just over 3" tall and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I also printed the sentiment from the package, sizing it to about 3" wide.

I used Gina Marie Designs Label Six for the image and a miscellaneous rectangle die for the sentiment.  The A2 sized card base is covered in the bright polka dotted paper and the sentiment is mounted on a coordinating aqua strip.   I secured the image in the center of the  card base and then popped up the sentiment with several foam squares. This completed my design for another cute critter card.
