A Little Cuddlebug Love

Today I'm sharing an adorable 'Cuddlebug' image from Beccy's Place made into a Get Well card.

I sized the image on this one to about 4" tall and printed on 110# Neenah card stock.  I've used my Copic markers for the coloring and then die cut with the Momenta Nested Slim Rectangles.

I covered the front of a 5" x 6" card base with the multi colored patterned paper and added the dark blue/green strip across the center.   Then I secured the image and overlapped the sentiment, securing it also.   This one is sure to bring a smile to the receiver!

Dogwood Blossom Heartfelt Card

Here we are at mid-month and time for another card of inspiration from Jan's Digital Stamps.

Today I'm using Dogwood Blooms, another new release.

For this card, I selected the wreath of beautiful dogwood blooms.  I started by sizing the image to just over 3" square and layered in the sentiment to the right.

After printing, I used my Copic markers for coloring and then the Gina Marie Designs, Stitched Scalloped Rectangle for the decorative edge.

I selected a craft card base, and covered it with the brown patterned paper.   Then I added the completed image in the center and added the strip of green washi tape down the right side for grounding.

I think this sentiment is a great one for a sympathy card or card of encouragement.

Be Kind

I'm back today posting again with another Guest Designer card using Conie Fong Art's, Fairytale Cottage background and Winter Sweethearts.

When I noticed the sweetheart couple were sitting on the rocks I remembered seeing the Fairytale Cottage image that also had several spots of rocks.  I decided to try to merge the two into one card.

After sizing the images,  I printed them both on Neenah 110# cardstock and began coloring with my Copic markers.  For the sweetheart image, I cut it out by hand, and set it aside.  I used the Tattered Lace 'Pearl Circle' die to cut out the completed cottage.

I covered the 6" square card base with the bright polka dot paper, then I placed the cottage on the teal green paper and decided about where the couple were going to fit.  After trimming, I secured this solid piece to the center of the card base design.   I added the cottage piece next and finally the little couple cut out.  I placed three small foam dots behind their heads and secured them at base of the image.

Next I added the preprinted sentiment and attached it to the top right corner of the card.  Lastly I added the white organza bow at the fold to complete this card image.

Happiness is

Happy St. Patrick's Day, 2023!

Today I'm sharing this adorable bear all dressed for the celebrations today!  He's from Di's Digi Stamps and the image is named, " Happiness is a St. Patrick's Bear'.

For this card, I've sized the image to just under 4" and printed him on 110# Neenah cardstock.  I've colored him using my Copic markers - which was the best part.  I do love to color!

You may notice the brown card base looks familiar.... I've used the other half for the 12" cardstock I made the card base with for the St Patrick's mice card earlier this week.

I found a lacy patterned green print for the matting and used the Gina Marie Designs Label Six for the pretty edges.  Then I secured both layers to the front of the card base to complete my design.

You Are My Sunshine

After one of my cards winning a blog challenge, I was asked by the coordinator of the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog to post as a Guest Designer with her team in March.

It's always an honor and privilege to join a team in posting.  The sponsor for the Challenge blog this month is 'Star Stampz' and I'm using their Spring Sun Shine image for my card today.

I started this card by sizing the little girl to about 3 1/2" tall and placing her to the right of my card front template.  I did this intentionally so I would have space for the left side placement of the sentiment.

I enjoyed coloring this image with the rich aqua blues and shades of yellow.  As you can see she had some grass and flowers around and behind her feet.  I added the blades of grass in the original designs and extended the patch of grassy area over to the left, making it appear she was on a hillside.

When my coloring was complete, then I took Quick Quotes Canary Yellow chalking ink and a die cut cloud stencil and added 2 rows of puffy yellow clouds behind the girl.  Then I switched to Sky Blue chalking ink and added the additional cloud cover.

Gina Marie Designs Label Six is my go to die when I've got clouds or sky within my image.  You can see how the edges are rounded - sorta like the clouds.

For the card base, I selected a sketch design and several coordinating papers.  After securing all the layers to the card base, then I added the completed color image, securing it to the card front center.  I grabbed a sentiment from my stash and stamped it with Versa Clair ink, then die cut to the shape shown.  I secured it closely to the hillside image.  Lastly, I added a gold gemstone to the center of the girl's hat and added the soft organza ribbon and bow at the fold.

I really like how this one turned out and it will be just right for several occasions.   Thank you C.R.A.F.T. Design team for allowing me to join you today.

St. Patrick's Mice

For my second St. Patrick's Day card, I've selected Di's Digi Stamps, 'St. Patrick's Day Mice'.

What a great little teamwork image too!

I sized this image to about 3" square and then used my Copic markers for the coloring.  The gold lines in this patterned paper really coordinated well with the gold coins.  I used Gina Marie Designs Label Three for the decorative edges on the completed image and the metallic background.

For this card, I used a brown cardstock and made the 5" x 6" base.  Then I secured the matting and completed image in the center of the front.  I elected not to add a sentiment since I wanted to use this one for my personal use.

Kissed By An Angel

With the upcoming St. Patrick's Day and weekend celebrations, I'll be sharing a few cards I've made for that occasion.

The first one isn't really a St. Pat's 'image' as such; however like many, dressing them in appropriate colors can make all the difference.  I actually won this image from one of the blog challenges and decided they would just be perfect for a cute 'dressed in green' card.

This is a Conie Fong Art Design and is called 'Kissed by an Angel'.

After sizing to fit the A2 card front, I used my Copic markers for coloring.  The decorative edge on the completed image and the dark blue matting was done using Gina Marie Designs, Label Six dies.

I added the light green patterned mat to the card base, then secured the mat and image in the center.   Twine was used for the wrapping at the fold and then a green 'love' heart was secured on top to complete my design.

Hope you'll come back tomorrow to see another festive card.

You Totally Rock!

It's not every day that you get to celebrate an 87th birthday with your Dad.  I'm happy to say, after a week plus of being sick, we were able to do just that yesterday!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Since my dad has always been the jokester, I wanted a somewhat funny image for his birthday card.  I've selected Beccy's Place, All That Jazz and used the Basset Hound playing the bass violin.   I know he will be a hit for my Dad's special day and would be great for a birthday of any age.

I used my Copic markers for coloring and then a double notched rectangle die for the image and the black matting.  My Dad happens to be the best in the world, a definite 'Rock Star' so I selected the multicolored metallic paper to cover the white 6" square card base.   After adding the image and background to the card base, I added the sentiment and black matting to the right of the image.

You're An Amazing Person

Today's posting with the Polkadoodles Design Team is centered around Thank You cards.  Be sure to check out all the DT cards on the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog.

I'm sharing mine here today also, using Polkadoodles, Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep Easter Chicks.

Aren't they the cutest riding in their egg shells and being tugged along by One Amazing Chick.  There's always someone in the gang that seems to bear the burden.  Be sure to take time to thank that person ~ I'm sure you can think of at least one that fits that situation!

As I pulled up the three little chicks image to size, I pondered over what to use for the background.  Sometimes you just have to use designs that are discontinued to relay the message of the card.  This was my case for this Thank You card.  I needed 'hills' to show the lead chick was busy pulling the other two.  Some are talented enough to draw the hills in but that's not me.   I'm grateful for anyone who has the talent to draw.

With the hills sized to fit the image of the chicks, I printed it on 110# Neenah cardstock and then colored everything with my Copic markers.    I also printed the two sentiments from Winnie Celebrations Three and Winnie Daisy Greetings packages. I backed both of these in a solid brown cardstock.

I die cut a flowered frame*, and the edge of the colored image for the center of the card.  After securing it to the card base, I added the two sentiments and the brown twine. This completed my card design.

May the Grace of God Comfort You Today

Happy Friday!

Today, I'm sharing one of the images from Sweet 'N Sassy's Great Friends Digital Stamp Set which was released in February.

I've selected the mug with the tulips and added the sentiment from their Amazing Grace Digital Stamp set.

I sized the image to about 3 1/2" and layered the sentiment to the left before printing.  The coloring was done using Copic markers and are referenced below.

After selecting the coordinating mat, I used Jillian Vance DIEsigns Stitch Dot Emerald Backdrop Nesting Frames for the image and background.   After securing to a standard A2 card base, I randomly added the three metallic enamel dots.  I love the bright tulips and this card is sure to bring a little comfort to the receiver.
