Oh CROP!

Card THREE for the 2024 Copictopia Creative Barnraiser Competition is all about the sentiment and the details!

I truly love this play on words!  Way to go Cristena Bagne!

When I received the purchase of these four packages of digital images and one digital paper, I printed out all the images on 3 pages, printed about half the digital pages and started coloring with my daughter.  About two days later, my lightbulb moment of 'why didn't you lay these out on the digital paper? Then you wouldn't have to fussy cut ALL of these tiny things out! Oh well - lots of practice I guess.

I also saw a couple of questions on the Facebook group for this event asking about the sizing of the images.  While sizing is easy using Photoshop Elements, I think I still tend to make my images on the larger size. I enjoy having room to shade plus my mature eyes (okay - my old eyes) like the larger space to color also.

All that to say - when I got to the barn and the two tractor pieces, I had to stop and think - what the heck was I thinking!  But there were several fancy fold option for these three images.  I almost did a side step card but the barn just wasn't quite big enough to balance against the tractor.  I ended up finding a piece of the digital paper I'd printed that was 5" x 8" and decided to go with a slimline card.  I trimmed the aqua polka-dotted paper to 4" x 8" and began to secure the pieces.

I started at the left and secured the barn leaving about 1/2 at the top above the rooster and 1/4" from the shrubs on the left. Next I went all the way to the right and secured the wagon, slightly lower than the barn, about 1/4 from the right edge and from the bottom.  I didn't glue at the top of the wagon. Before adding the tractor, I cut a tiny piece of acetate to cover the door window and secured it to the backside of the window.  Next I secured the tractor, being sure the 'hitch' overlaid the wagon and the wheels aligned with the wagon wheels.  I did NOT secure the tractor around the window.

I went back and reduced and printed the girl from the Meadow package until her face fit in the window space.  Then I printed her, Copic colored and fussy cut her out.  I secured her in the middle of the window and then added a thin line of glue around the edge of the truck window to secure her and the acetate.

Next I added the animals ~ A little chicken at the base of the barn, and the horse and lamb riding in the wagon. The lamb also has fun foam behind his head to raise him above the horse.

I used a quote die for the sentiment and secured it about the tractor driver's image. After folding the slimline base to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", I added the front panel to the base. Lastly I added a little bit of platinum Stickles to the rooster on the windmill and diamond Stickles to the window of the barn.

Love how this one turned out too!
