Today I'm sharing the card I made for my brother who celebrated his birthday May 21st. I don't mind bragging on him as he is a very talented musician, has a beautiful singing voice, and has the ability for public speaking ~ all things I admire and don't have!
For this year's card I decided to go with one of his favorite pastimes ~ golf. Here's what I came up with ~
After finding this funny little golfer image, I did the coloring with Copic markers. I trimmed the sides to fit the card base and then fussy cut around the golf clubs.
For the background, I used the Stampin' Up, Into the Clouds with the light blue card stock. I die cut the Happy Birthday from black cardstock and secured it near the top.
I also added a layer of foam behind the golf clubs before securing the colored image to the background. Once secured, I added the burgundy background piece and secured all the layers to the white card base.
Inside I added this sentiment, which I hope gave him a chuckle!
Happy Birthday Mike!
Knowing our schedules weren't going to allow me to see him on his birthday, I entrusted our mail system to deliver his birthday card... like we all do. A fifty-five mile drive doesn't mean a direct delivery no matter how important the card was to me. But it finally made it on 6/3, eighteen days after mailing ... which is a good thing because we believe in celebrating for an entire month!
