Candy Cane Wishes from Polkadoodles Winnie

Today's Christmas card is from the Polkadoodles Winnie North Pole Bundle of digital stamp downloads.  With all the candy canes, lollipops and sweets in this image, I decided to use lots of non-traditional Christmas colors - pinks, purples, and even a little bit of yellow.

To make this card, I started with the digital image and sized her to fit on an A2 sized card base (about 3 1/2" wide and 4" tall maximium).  She's printed on Neenah 110# cardstock which is perfect for Copic marker coloring.  To give the extra curve of the snow bank, I selected My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle Stax die. I selected the darkest lavender Copic (BV13) and carefully scored/colored the edge of the die cut so that it gives the effect of a very thin matting. I covered the card base with the small heart print paper then added the colored image.  Next I added the lavender twine which is triple wrapped and then tied with a bow.  For the final touch I added diamond Stickles on the pom-pom of her hat to give it a little sparkle.  I also added the stickles to the brim and pom-pom on the little bird's hat.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards.
