Swirly Sweet Treats!

Today I'm sharing another Ghastly Ghost from Polkadoodles  Halloween Hocus Pocus Digital package.

This one was super simple to make as I made three of the smaller swirly suckers (from the 'Pick of the Patch' stamp set) and colored them the same shades as the larger one.  After coloring the pumpkin, I carefully cut a slit right across the top edge and slid the three suckers into the pumpkin.  I stuck a small piece of foam behind the center one to keep it above the other two and in the center.

Next I added the black liner mat behind the patterned paper and mounted both layers on a coordinating aqua A2 card base to complete this quick and easy card.

To a Special Friend

What is the one non medical appointment that women have that they aren't willing to skip?

If you guessed with their Hair Stylist you are 100% right!

And today is my #1 Best Ever Hair Stylist's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Tracy!

For her card I have used the digital image from Whimsy Stamps, Hummingbird and Columbine.  I sized the image to about 3 1/2" tall and printed it on Neenah 110# cardstock.

I used Copic markers for the coloring and then used the Gina Marie Designs, Frilly Lace Nested Rectangle Die for the edging.  I mounted the completed image on an A2 card base with the coordinating blue dotted Swiss patterned paper matting.

Next I added the three pearlized enamel dots and finished the card design with the white organza ribbon and bow at the top fold.

Frightful Oddities!

Sometimes our Trick or Treaters are a bit frightful or a bit odd and sometimes when we open the door they are a combination of BOTH!   Sorta like when you go to Walmart for your entertainment, right?  Just kiddin'!

This Art Impression Halloween stamp is one I picked up on the last warehouse clearance sale and is simply called 'trick or treat set' (#4524).

I honestly chuckled while coloring them in bright florescent Copic colors and picking out equally as bright purple striped matting and a deep orange for the card base.

I used Carnation Crafts Pretty Shabby Square Label dies for the decorative edge.  After securing the matting and the completed image I added the Halloween sticker at the left corner and the label words at the bottom from Tim Holtz Halloween Label Stickers.

Merry and Bright!

The Polkadoodles Design Team is here today with a new Challenge.  Our challenge this week was a 'merry and bright' Christmas card using a specified colour palette.

For mine, I've selected Winnie Christmas Wishes, Friendly Cuddles.

Here's the colour palette we were to use:

I also started with using Winnie White Christmas Digital Printable Papers 2.  After sizing the image to about 3" I layered paper #13 under the image then printed them on 110# Neenah card stock.  The coloring was done with Copic markers which are referenced at the bottom.

I used the Tattered Lace Hemstitch Square die for the edge and die cut the Polkadoodles Layering Trees out of a scrap of metallic gold card stock.  I also trimmed the printed 'Christmas Wishes' sentiment down a bit.

For the card base I selected a coordinating dark green and made a background strip with the blue and peach colors.  After securing the strip across the middle of the card base, I added the colored image, then stacked the tree on the right edge, adding foam behind each piece.  Across the bottom, I added an additional strip of the patterned paper and secured the sentiment which I also added foam behind.  Lastly I finished the card with the peach organza ribbon and bow at the top fold of the card.

Life is Too Short for Bad Music

Aren't our God given talents just amazing!

Each of us have them. Some are overflowing and some are slightly hidden and have to be developed ~ but they are there. The key to enjoying them is to be grateful to God for them and to share them with others.

Today I'm sharing the birthday card I made for our granddaughter's fiancé's birthday.  He is a very talented guitarist and it makes my heart about burst to see him singing and playing to his baby daughter.

Unfortunately I don't know the manufacturer of this stamp set as it is one I purchased through a Facebook seller and is unmarked.

After stamping the image with Momento ink, I stamped the sentiments with Versa Claire.  Then I colored the Guitar Hero with my Copic markers and cut the edges.

I selected a medium blue A2 card base and a metallic star striped patterned paper as the background.  After securing the background paper, I secured the completed image in the center of the card to complete the design.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from the set...

Life is too short to listen to bad music!

Perfect for his birthday card!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

R.I.P. Will B. Back

Today's Halloween card comes from C.C. Designs, Vampy Wishes stamp which I've pulled from my stash.  It is unfortunately no long available.

I always enjoy using him each year, especially for the boys on my list - I even made two this year, very similar but slightly different.

For both I stamped the image and used my Copic markers for coloring.  Then I hand cut out each Vampire and the bat for the first card.

I only had a 3 1/2" wide strip of the bat paper and wanted to use it on both cards, so I split it vertically and secured the black stripped paper to the A2 card base first, then added the strips down the left side. Next I secured the vampire to the center of the cards.  Both sentiments were left over from a digital project, so I added foam strips to the back and added to each card.  I don't usually use stickers but the tombstones were so cute with the crazy titles - so I added one at Vampy's feet on each card.  The google eyed bat was part of the sticker pack, I secured him just above Vampy's hand and the copic colored bat about the same place on the other card.  Turned out pretty cute!

Halloween Party Time

It's Party Time at Polkadoodles with loads of new images in their new release of Hocus Pocus / Ghastly Ghost.

For this card, I've used Hat-Ghosties.

I sized the ghost to about 3" tall and layered the floral patterned paper from Bones Shakin' Halloween papers behind the image, then printed it on 110# Neenah card stock.  I used my Copic markers for coloring and a bit of Diamond Stickles to outline the ghost.

I printed the sentiment separately and mounted it on the dark solid purple strip.  I used a 5" square card base, secured the orange matting then added the flowered patterned paper with the completed coloring, and lastly the purple strip and sentiment.  For the final touch I added the orange organza ribbon and bow at the fold.  What a fun little card!

Your Age?

If you enjoy posting and/or chatting on Facebook or other social media platforms, chances are you have made several good friends online that you may never have the opportunity to meet in person.   Yet you enjoy their humor or their stories or maybe the things they share throughout their postings.  Whatever the reasoning, you would consider them a friend.

I have to say that I feel very blessed to have multiple friends that meet those guidelines and I'm very grateful that they are part of my life in some way.

Today is one of those lady's birthday. Karle' is one who definitely has a huge sense of humor and has had me rolling with laughter many days when I was really down in the past.

Being MUCH younger than I am I thought a birthday card about her maturing age might be cute for this year.   I've selected one of the Spring Chickens from Beccy's Place ~ one of my favorite packages.

This digital package comes with three spring chickens and several very appropriate sentiments.  After sizing the chicken that I wanted to use, I layered the sentiment close to her so the total size of the image would be about 3" x 4".

I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and colored the chicken with my Copic markers.  I used the Pink and Main Cloudy Frame for the red polka dotted frame.

The green card base is a standard A2 size, with the patterned paper matting added.  Then I secured the frame and completed image in the center.  Not a posting goes by that Karle' doesn't comment on the size of my bows on my cards.  The bigger the better in her opinion!  So of course the finishing touch on her card was a big taupe organza bow at the top fold.

Happy "21st" Birthday AGAIN, Karle'!!!  Hope you have an amazing day!

Sweet and Happy Holidays!

Happy Monday! Here's one who's colors are sure to wake you up this morning!!!

I'm posting today with the Design Team for Jan's Digital Stamps as we start off October with a new round of Christmas cards for inspiration!  I've selected Jan's new Candy Cane package and made this bright rainbow colored candy cane holiday card.

This one just evolved as I sure didn't start out thinking it was going to be all these bright and juicy colors!  I actually started with wanting to color the bow in the Copic B04 to B06 shades of blue.  From there my pattern began and I love the way it turned out....  Looks good enough to pick it up to eat!

Unfortunately the die for the edging on this one is a very old one, before I started keeping up with names and manufacturers.   I used a deep burgundy cardstock to make the base and covered it with the holly print.  I secured the completed image to the center of the card to complete the card for now.  Like a lot of my 'early' Christmas cards, I don't add the bow until I'm ready to add them to the envelope and mail.  This just makes storage easier and allows a prettier bow right before mailing.

I hope you'll join us on Jan's Digital Stamp Challenge Blog. We'd love to see your card creations.

The Masquerade Ball

Here we are starting OCTOBER! Oh where has this year gone?

I'm posting early today as I'll be traveling all day for a week's vacation at the beach!  Later today the rest of the Creative Team for Morgan's ArtWorld will share their cards and the October Challenge Blog will be open.

For my Design Team card I've selected her Masquerade 2 Greyscale.

I picked this image for the vintage look but also since October being the month of Halloween celebrations, she could be used for that occasion also.

After sizing her to just under 4" tall, I printed her on 110# Neenah cardstock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I love the elegance of Gina Marie Designs, Curly Flourish A2 Frame and cut it out of a metallic gold cardstock.  I secured the frame to the image, then trimmed the edge of the image to the size of the frame.

Next I secured the deep red cardstock to the 6" card base and die cut the sentiment 'My Eyes Adore You' (inspired by the song) that I had also printed from the computer.  I then put the completed image securely on the card base slightly to the right side.  Before adding the sentiment,  I added foam to the back for added dimension, then secured it at the bottom left to complete the card design.

You can visit Morgan's Art Studio to see all her creations or
