Do You Know How Amazing You Are?

Yes, YOU!  

You are amazing!  You are wonderful and beautifully made  and if you don't have someone to tell you that - it's okay to put up a sticky note on your bathroom mirror that you will see every day to remind you!

Several weeks ago the ladies at my church honored our group leader with a Sunshine basket as a thank you for just being an amazing lady!  No matter what is going on in her life, she finds the time or a way to be there for others and do special things for others.  

Today's featured card is the one that I made for the group to sign to go in her basket.  It's a Sylvia Zet Whimsy stamp called, Wee Suzi.

Bearing presents and flowers, she was the perfect image for our surprise basket of goodies.  After Copic coloring, I used the Gina Marie Stained Glass Rectangle die set in shades of peach and added a miscellaneous sentiment stamp with an aqua sheer ribbon.  The layered card front is mounted on a 6 x 6 dark peach card stock card base.  I also cut white liners for the inside to make signing easier rather than using the texture of the back of the card stock.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish

Dig out your GREEN-ware, for the upcoming celebrations of St. Patrick's Day are drawing near!

I recently purchased a cute clear stamp set as part of a mini bundle from Gina Marie at the Wholesale Outlet, which included a set of stamps, a clover and horse shoe die and a sparkly bag of sequins.  I got started stamping the little leprechauns and couldn't stop with just one - ended up stamping all of them twice.  

Let the coloring begin....

All of the images were stamped on 110# Recollections card stock and Copic colored.  Here are the six cards I made using just the stamps.  Hopefully I will be able to use the dies to make a few more before St. Patrick's Day gets here!

Lots of combinations and with the exception of one piece of 12 x 12 for some of the base pieces, the rest came from the scrap paper box.

For today's posting of Kitty, I selected shades of green with the upcoming Lucky Month of March. She is stamped on 110# card stock and Copic colored, then fussy cut.  The Kraft card base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  The bottom plaid green layer was die cut using a Spellbinder Rectangle die.  I then added a horizontal cut strip of hunter green and gray lace at the top and bottom of this strip.  I added several foam dots to the back of the colored image before attaching her to the card base.  I love that she has on her Christian cross necklace!  I added black washi tape that has small gold crosses on it - and die cut them into two sizes of arrows using the Maya Road Arrow Dies. Then just a few light green dots of bling and a special sentiment for the new designer  ~ You Got This Girl!

Happy Wishes For Your Future

Today's featured card is one that I made for a bridal shower honoring one special young lady that I've known all her life.

My posting yesterday talked about our memories and as I write this, I can vividly remember holding this newborn baby girl, surrounded by her loving family, which of course seems like just the other day. 

But time rushes on and she will be walking down the aisle in just a few short weeks, becoming a wife and starting another chapter of her life.  I am as proud of her as I am of my own children.

For her special card, I of course knew I wanted to use a Whimsy stamp ~ and I selected Wedding Bells by designer Crissy Armstrong.  I also have a new die for the inside...be sure to keep reading...

After Copic coloring the stamped image, I used the Gina Marie Pleated Lace Oval dies for the image, the black liner and the blue frame.  I used a generic lace border die, cut twice for the center strip and added a small piece of white ribbon to cover the connecting lines.  The peach background is embossed using a dotted Swiss folder. 

Inside, I used the Lawn Fawn Gift Card Holder die to hold her additional gift.  It's such a cute two sided holder that can easily be added to the inside fold of your card and could be decorated in many different ways.

When This You See ~ Remember Me

Several weeks ago, an online friend of mine went through the 

celebration of life of her Mother's passing to heaven.  It has not been an easy transition for her and her son... my heart breaks for her as I read some of her postings pouring out her loss, her fears, and trying to cope with just one more day.   

Having taught and promoted scrapbooking for over ten years, and being a photographer for over 14 years, ~ THIS is what it's all about.

WHEN THIS YOU SEE ~ REMEMBER ME

Are you making the memories and documenting them for future generations to know their family's heritage? 

Is it preserved to last, still in your camera, on your phone, is there a backup? 

Who are those people?

Today's card is "just a card" of heritage objects - A wonderful, dated Stampin Up set called,  When This You See. 

The Copic colored images are mounted in the Gina Marie Stitched Circle Plate Background die cut out of brushed silver card stock and then placed on a gold card base.  To me the KEY charm symbolizes the importance of the card.  There is so much rich heritage in each of our lives, waiting to be told to others, to be documented by us for our families.  What are we waiting on?  What do you want to be remembered by?

May Spring Bring Her Blessings...

Today's featured card turned out so cheerful that I believe I'm going to have to repeat it.  This is the first chance I've had to use the stamps I received from Unity Stamp Co as my prize for being one of the selected 52 Growing In Unity 2018 gals.

From the Unity KOM 4/16, Without Fear, Without Limits, I used the two Copic colored images.  The multi layers and miscellaneous die cut were added to a peach colored card base.  I selected the sentiment to be somewhat generic so this card could be used for all occasions.

Hold On With Both Hands

What kind of birthday card to you make for your friend who makes cards also?  You know - the one that you admire, who is very creative, has a great imagination, people buy her cards, etc.  Yep... and I want to make HER a birthday card.  Hmmmm. 

Well for sure - I won't be going to Hallmark ... I am gratefully blessed to be able to make cards out of love and to God's glory.    
Today's featured card... A special birthday card to my crafting buddy.  

What better stamp to show our friendship than Phyllis Harris', A Sky With No Limit image and the sentiment of True Friends Are Rare.  
To make the card unique, I masked in the new Unity, Happy Birthday Balloon.  ...another advantage of our wonderful stamping platforms!  For the sparkle, I added several layers of multi colored confetti inside the balloon.  The cloud is a Gina Marie Design die and the edges of the image are clipped with Fiskar's Seagull decorative scissors and the base is a raised 5 x 7" Dotted Swiss emerald green card.

Happy Birthday Puppy Style

Today's featured card is one that I created for my 

grand daughter who turned 14 last week and has a great passion 

for animals, especially puppy dogs.

For her I selected Whimsy Puppy in Present, designed by Lee Holland.  Skyla loves the color green and is also a Clemson University Tiger fan, so my color palette was easy to select.  Here's what I came up with. 

The image is stamped on 110# card stock and Copic colored.   I  used the "smooshing" technique taught by Faye Wynn-Jones on the puppy. (Getting ready for more instructions from her in June!).  The image die is by Gina Marie Designs, Pleated Lace Rectangle, and the corner Happy Birthday die is by La La Land Inc.

All the Way Home

Anyone who lives within 75 miles or so of the area where I am, knows about one particularly good Bar-B-Que spot located in the twin cities of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.  

Shealy's has almost been in business fifty years and it is rare to go by when they are open that the line is not wrapped outside the building and into the parking lot.

Having celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago, some friends came up and of course - we ended up at Shealy's for lunch.  Only our driver was able to make it back to the "all you can eat" buffet for the second plate, but we all felt like little piggies as we waddled back to the car.  Of course a thank you card was appropriate for him picking up the tap and making us miserable all afternoon from all of the yummy variety of food!

Directions:

For my card I used the Stampendous Christmas set, Truck Tidings, and modified the top to allow room for all the piggies to fit!  The pigs are from the Darice stamp set, Barnyard Buddies, and the sentiment was from a miscellaneous baby set. The tiny tie on the 'male' pig is by Unity Stamps (Tiny Little Guys).  Images are Copic colored on 110# card stock and the road is Washi tape.

You Make My Heart Smile

Happy Valentine's Day to YOU!

Today I wanted to share with you the Valentine cards that I made for my five grand kids (ages 23 months to 17 years) using the Darcie's Clear Stamp Set Love "Hearts" (POL341).

Isn't that a cute set?  As you will see, I used both of the 'boy' and 'girl' images, and then used the same sentiment on all of the cards.  I selected the single short fold style card since I have found this to be a great style card when your images are smaller.

After stamping the images on 110# Card stock, I colored them using Copic markers (referenced below) and then die cut the hearts out using the Darice scalloped heart die.  Sentiments are die cut with either the stitched oval or the hexagon center of a Elegant Frame unbranded die.

The card base is a strip cut 4 x 9 with the fold at 5 1/2".  Matting is cut for each side and coordinating papers are cut 1/8" smaller.  The colored image is glued on the left side only, onto the flap of the card base.   Then the sentiment it trimmed or die cut and glued to the side of the center image.  Additional embellishment of course could be added, but keep in mind your postage weight when doing so.

These are the types of stamps that you can purchase the button face to attach to the stamped image.  I elected not to add the buttons to these since two were going to younger children.

Reds: R05, R17, R27, R37 R39
Purples: V01, V12, V15
Grays: N01, N2, N4
