Full Steam Ahead

Today we are opening the Classic Design Challenge for July and August.  This challenge is always Anything Goes and the Optional Twist for this month is 'Any Holiday'.

Our wonderful sponsor for the July /August challenge is Rachelle Anne Miller.  I've selected her Animal Train image for my Design Team card and used it for a Retirement card.

After sizing the image and printing, I used Copic markers for the coloring on my card.  I added in the road and grassy hill background and cloudy sky.  Then I searched through my border stickers and found the edge of one that resembled a railroad track, trimmed it and added under the wheels.  It was pretty tight adding in the three balloons and strings ,,, but it's a party!

Balloons are needed!

I cut the navy blue mat about one in longer to give me room to add the computer generated sentiment.  I rounded all the corners of the image and matting, then trimmed the sentiment into a fishtail tag and secured it across the bottom of the card.

Lastly I added each layer to the white card base and trimmed it close to the blue since the image was already very large.  It is definitely a different retirement card, but I love it!

Hope you will check out the Classic Design Challenge to see all the Design Team images and enter yours too!  I'd love to see your work.
