This Nursing School Thing...

Recently I was asked to make a card of encouragement for a young lady going through Nursing School.  Anyone doing anything in the medical profession we know has a lot of educational requirements, long study hours and many tests.  I for one, am very grateful for the jobs they do!

For her card, I selected Stamping Bella's Nurse from the Curvy Girl Collection.

This stamp is long and great for a slimline card, but I went with a 5 x 7 size card base.  I colored the stamped image with my Copic markers and then used the Gina Marie Designs Pleated Lace Mini Slimline Die.   I cut a coordinating magenta solid mat about 1/8" larger than the image and glued these together.  I found a fun patterned paper that had the same colors of the nurse's uniform and looked like confetti to cover the card base.  Once it was added then I added the matted image all the way to the right side of the card.

Next I added the magenta organza ribbon and bow at the fold.  It's a celebration so the bow needs to be BIG!  I typed the sentiment myself based on the customer's request and used a fishtail tag that has a precut place to thread the ribbon through.  It makes it super easy to attach to the ribbon! I could have attached it right under the bow but adding it lower made the card more balanced and completed the design.  My customer loved it and I'm hoping the Nursing student did also!
