To My Classic Guy

To say February has been a busy month of celebration here is an understatement!  First my birthday, then the announcement of joining the Polkadoodles Design Team, followed by my marriage on Valentine's Day (wasn't that a shocker!) and now the celebration of my hubby's birthday this past weekend!  It's all been wonderful and exciting!

Today I would like to share the card I made for his special day.  One of his 'life's treasures' is his 1955 Ford F100 pickup truck that he got for his high school graduation.  Although it has many fond memories, it rests now behind his house and makes a wonderful photo prop!  What better image to use for his birthday card as we celebrate his first birthday together as a couple!

I did use a 'Google' image for this card to try to find as close to the original truck as I could.  Here is the completed card then a few details on how I made it.

After sizing to about 4" x 3" and adding the sentiment, I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and colored with my Copic markers.  I used the Gina Marie Designs Labels 1 die for the edge.  I cut a double mat of the green plaid and green solid, then cut a white card stock card base that was 5 1/2" x 6".  I secured the two background mats together then added the colored image on top.  Next I added the brown twine, wrapped around these three layers and tied a knot at the point where they met, and added a brass key charm.  Then I secured the three layers to the card base to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards.
