Sweet Baby Love

Today's featured card was made using Whimsy's digital image of  Sylvia Zet's, Angie.  This sweet baby girl sitting on her own little puffy cloud is just waiting for you to add your creative touch to her.  The possibilities are endless!

Here's my version for today.

I printed my image on Neenah 110# Card stock and used Copic markers for coloring.  The card base is 6" square, and the diamond stitched mat is 5" square.  The layers of stitched oval shapes were done with the  Gina Marie Design set (Stitched Rectangle).  The center belly strap was cut with a Spellbinder fancy edge border die, and a rub on applied after assembling the card.

I hope you will pop over to the Whimsy Stamps site today and see what wonderful products they have available, especially in the digital section.  I'd love to see how you'd use this image ~ I'll be looking for your posting on their Facebook page, Whimsy Stamps and Inspiraton.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, your comments are always welcomed.

U + Me = Love

Good morning from the western side of Lake Murray this Monday morning.  Hope you are staying all bundled up and warm.  As I viewed some snow photos yesterday from Canada, I was in awe at the beauty yet so thankful I live here in the south.  I'll just keep my view like this morning - the sky is pink and there is a very light fog on the waters of the lake as it completely still other than an occasional passing bird.  All God's locations, scenes and wildlife are such masterpieces!

Last week I enjoyed doing my five day series with Unity Stamps on Sharing the Love.
I received so many heart-warming comments about my cards,  and will be gathering those to select the winners soon.  For those who have joined to follow my blog, thank you!  I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy my postings.

Today's featured card is a super cute Digital image designed by Crissy Armstrong named, Penguin Valentine.  This image is available at the Whimsy Stamp site, under digital products - just click on the image name and the link will connect you directly to this product.  Here's my completed project, and then a few details about it if you would like to create one similar.

Now wouldn't you just love to receive this Valentine Card?  This one headed north earlier this month to New York for a card swap where I know it was received in love too.

The image was printed on Neenah 110# card stock and Copic colored. {Reference Copics are listed below.} I added Red polka-dotted paper to the bottom 2/3rd of the black card base, then used one of the Stitched Scalloped Edge Dies from My Favorite Things, Die-namic Set for the V-shaped cut right below the colored image. A thin organza ribbon tied in a knot and a retro button of u + me added the finishing touches to this card.

Thanks for stopping in today, and as always your comments are welcomed.

Pam

Sharing the Love ~ Day Five of Growing in Unity 2019

Like all good books, I don't want this wonderful week of sharing Unity cards with you to end.  It truly is like all the GIU girls share... you watch for the names to come out, and if you are early in the year like I've been, time flies till my time. Then it's flown past in this week of posting. Just ~POOF~ and it's gone!

So for my last Unity card, I've selected an image from the KOM 8/18, Faith See Beauty and the sentiment is from the same kit.

I think all of our "Love Stories",  the ones we dream of, the ones our parents pray for us to have when we grow up, the stories we marvel at as we hear an elderly couple reaching 50 or 60 years of marriage, .. are like the best book we could ever read.

What a wonderful blessing to have your best friend "Share the Love"!!!  I hope that you will take the time today to tell them ~ they are Your Happy Ending.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to be Unity's Growing in Unity Gal for this week.  I am so grateful for this opportunity and also appreciative of each of you for stopping by as much as you were able to.  If you are not a follower of my blog, I hope you have enjoyed my work enough to join  by email or google.  Comments will be left open over the weekend, then gathered the first of the week for me to select the two winners.  Watch for the winners to be posted later next week.

Pam

Sharing the Love ~ Day Four of Growing in Unity 2019

Good morning and welcome to Day Four of my
Growing in Unity postings.

As I started to prepare for today's card, I thought about the last three days... and I kinda chuckled at myself!  All the makings of a romance novel with the being in love, being accepted,  and what really matters!  So of course ~ I must lighten things up a bit today!

I have a question for you to answer in the comments today.

What can you always eat no matter how full you are?

Now think about it a minute because you know I'm giving you the answer but maybe this is just MY answer!

No matter how full you are there is always room for Ice Cream (KOM 1/16, Start Again) because it melts and fills in The Gaps!

This has always been our humor during the holidays, including Valentines Day when we've all consumed way too much food.  There's always room for Ice Cream!

May today be your 'So Sweet' Day! ~ Don't forget to comment below for your chance to win a grab bag of Unity Stamps at the end of my week.  See you back here tomorrow.

Sharing the Love ~ Day Three of Growing in Unity 2019

Happy Wednesday!  I'm so glad you came back today because  it's my Phyllis Harris card day.  {BIG SMILE!}  As if it's not hard enough to pick which Angie Blom stamp to use for these few special days... try only picking one Phyllis Harris in there too!

Another artist and designer that continues to amaze us all with her soft and gentle images combined with deep, touching sentiments that are so appropriate for those occasions when we are at a total loss for words.... that would be Phyllis Harris for sure.

But today's card was actually inspired from a CHRISTMAS 6" x 6" PAPER PAD in the clearance bin. Pink paper with gold puppy feet! Here's what I pulled together using First Love

The sentiment from KOM 3/10, Rockin it Unity Style  reinstates the obvious... what is the most important thing as we are sharing the love during this season ~ the sweet simple things of life!
And who wouldn't love to receive this cute valentine's day card?

I hope today's card will inspire you to pull out your Phyllis Harris stamps for Valentines or flip over to Unity Stamps and order a new set. See what you can match up to make your own special cards.

Don't forget to comment below for your chance to win a grab bag of stamps at the end of my GIU week.

Sharing the Love ~ Day Two of Growing In Unity 2019

Good morning and welcome back for day two of my Growing in Unity cards.  For today I wanted to present a black & white vintage look but with a center pop of color.  I am inspired  by the beauty of my grand-daughter Skyla, with her long thick locks of strawberry blonde hair.  Angie Blom's George and Scarlett were the perfect image I needed to achieve this look.

The sentiment from the KOM 12/15, Crazy, Tragic, Magic Life is tremendously powerful in today's world that is so full of peer pressures.  If we can only instill in our children the value of accepting others and being accepted for who we are.  This sentiment and so many more is why I love Unity Stamps!  They continue to give us an endless supply of truly meaningful sentiments for our cards and other projects.

For the other details of my card - the strip at the bottom of George and Scarlett - that too is a Unity stamp (KOM 12/13) that I heat embossed on vellum and tore the edges.  My glue is carefully hidden behind the hearts.   The Copic colored image and the sentiment are both die cut using Gina Marie Designs X-Stitched Rectangle dies.

Many thanks to each of you for coming by today.  If you are not a follower of my blog, I would love to have you join today.

Be sure to leave your comment below for your chance to win a bag of Unity stamps at the end of my GIU week.

Sharing the Love ~ Day One of Growing In Unity 2019

Happy Monday Morning to all my regular followers and a special welcome to each of you who are new from the Unity family and friends.  I am so very thrilled to be back for a second year with the Unity Stamps Growing In Unity program.  It is quite an honor and certainly a blessing for me personally.

With 'Cupid' less than a month away, I will be bringing you a Valentine or special Love focused card project each day this week using some great Unity stamps.   Remember to visit each day and leave a comment for your chance to be randomly selected at the end of my week for a $25 bag of free Unity stamps. (Yay!)

For today's card, I selected Angie Blom's, We Belong Here, for the image.

For all my rubber images I use Neenah 110# card stock and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink for stamping.  I used Copic markers for coloring (references are listed at the bottom) along with a red metallic gel pen after the card was put together for the tiny dots and sparkles.  The coordinating ovals are die cut with the My Favorite Things Large Stitched Ovals.  The sentiment I selected is from the KOM, 6/14, "In Love, With Love".  Since I had picked this bright pink and brown modern paper pattern and a Kraft card base, I stamped the sentiment also on white card stock, but used the Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.  The triple Stitched Heart Dies are a retired Gina Marie Designs die set. The tiny strip of hearts in the center and at the top right, were done with a very old Martha Stewart border punch. And to tie it all together - one of the very best Unity products yet ~~ the white sheer Organza ribbon!

Throughout this week, you may notice that I am NOT a typical 'size' card maker.  My crafting BFF gives me a hard time frequently about my over-sized cards.   I always start with my image and work out to the side of the card without limiting myself to a box.   I purchased the Stampin Up envelope maker long ago, and enjoy making a matching envelope too.  I'd like to suggest to you to try this, if you don't already.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and the many layers of dies and coordinating papers that I used to give the card depth.  I look forward to reading your comments and hope you will stop in tomorrow.

As For Me and My House...

We Shall Serve The Lord.
Joshua 24:15

I rarely blog on Sunday's, however through the combination of several conversations this week on personal morals,  consistently living each day to the glory of our God, and a perfect sketch layout challenge to illustrate this scripture from the book of Joshua... I'd like to share this posting with you today.

The sketch challenge came from Christian Card Makers, one of the first card making sites I joined about six years ago.  We focus on sharing cards, prayer requests and encouraging others through our card ministry.

This week's sketch card challenge was: "Three of the same objects across the center,  ribbon below, and a sentiment below ribbon."
Here is my completed card using the referenced scripture.

Details of making the card: I used the Stampin Up birdhouse stamp from the Flying Home set.   I used washi tape and masked off each bird house separately since the stamp is a combination of the three together.  All the houses are Copic colored with combinations of the 'E' series, then die cute with a stitched rectangle die.  I created the sentiment on the computer since my stamp of that scripture was too large.  Brown crochet thread was added after the images were glued on to my background paper and before adding to the standard A2 white card base.  For the final touch on this card, I applied liquid glaze on the windows and on the tire swing.

Thank you for stopping in today and seeing how today's card was put together.  I hope it has brought a blessing to your home also as you think about the scripture.

Pam

Candle Light Birthday Wishes

Time to take a short break from reorganizing my crafting space and reach back to the November digital releases to share a recent birthday card I put together for a customer who needed a special first birthday card.  The Penguin Candle Light caught our attention as we were looking through my digital Whimsy images.  Here's the finished card ~

Using soft pinks, yellows, and peach shades really gave the card a softness like the mouse and penguin were quietly sneaking down the hall back to bed.  This digital image drawn by designer Crissy Armstrong can be used for so many different occasions and will be a great addition to your collection.  Here's the link to the Whimsy store if you'd like to get your digital image now.  "Penguin Candle Light Set".

Thanks for stopping by today - See ya soon with another new card.

You Make My Heart Smile

What makes someone "famous" to you in the crafting world?

As I start to write today's blog, I can't help but fondly remember the morning that Jennie and I nervously walked into our first Whimsy Retreat.  A young girl with a dark ponytail is sorting papers on the floor and quickly gets up to greet us... "Hi, I'm Denise..." and I stammer around realizing we are meeting the Owner of the Whimsy Stamp Company!  At that moment I feel 110 years old and she looks to be 22!   Before I can breathe again, I realize she's telling us to sit anywhere... and from another quiet voice behind me I hear "There's two spots here, if you don't mind sitting with me."  Like turning the corner after sneaking down the stairs to see what's under the Christmas tree, who should be sitting at that table... our second famous person of the day, Crissy Armstrong.  Our blessings didn't stop there as we continued to meet Faye Winn-Jones and then the wonderful ladies of the design team.

As time has past and relationships have grown from acquaintances to friends to my Whimsy family, these ladies are all famous to me because of who they are.  Which in my crazy brain... that brings me back to today's card. This Digital image is Spread Love, by designer Crissy Armstrong and is available in the digital section of Whimsy Stamps.

This card is made on a 5 1/2" square Kraft card base, with 5 1/4" square red matting and a 2 1/2" pink strip in the center.  The cloud was die cut with a miscellaneous die then I used Broken China Oxides and a die cut stencil to make the clouds.  I applied a heavy bead of Whimsy's Nuvo Glitter Drops-Honey Gold around the edge and used foam square to raise the cloud.  The heart sentiment is also raised with a foam square.  The Spread Love image was printed on 110# Neenah card stock and colored with Copics (referenced below) and Prisma pencils, then hand cut out. I used clear Wink of Stella on her wings and the hearts on her dress.  She is glued at the bottom of the card, then raised with foam squares toward the top.

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you have a great weekend and get to spend time in your craft room creating beautiful things.

Serving a Risen Savior,
Pam

I'm Hooked On You...

One of the fun things with stamping is putting different sets together.  Most of the time, I don't buy a set specifically to go with another one - it is usually like a 'light bulb moment' when I realize  ~ oh yeah, this image would go with that other stamp I have. ~

My stamping buddy was here when  I received several small and slightly used Unity stamps from one of the Facebook sellers.  It had to do with fishing and we both got quiet a chuckle with the heart on the hook and the cute sentiment 'I'm Hooked On You' (KOM 12/13).  Before I could get the images stamped for storage, she said - "You know you should put that one with that Angie Girl that looks like she's a Ranger or on a Safari with this fishing set."  Hmm.... Off to pull Unity's  Maren Girl to combine for a cute Fishing Valentine Card that is a keeper for sure!
Here's my completed card.

With so many family learning the joys of camping and the memories around the warm fireplace each night, this card is sure to be grabbed up quickly!

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been making.

Sketch Challenge Vs Organization Challenge

Each week on the Christian Card Making Site we have a Sketch Challenge given to us, with several days to complete a card based on the sketch layout and post our completed card. While this challenge is not one of my favorites, I have to admit after doing them for about a solid year now, it has been a positive choice for me and I'm enjoying this type challenge more and more.

This week as I found my time slot to work on the card challenge, I happen to have just taken last year's Lang Calendar down and put up my new one.  (This just happens to be a treasured gift from my brother and sister-in-law.)  What better photo and paper than the beautiful birds in last year's calendar!

Here's what I put together and the layout we were given.

The center wave is a unbranded die and the bottom piece is just a scrap of paper.  The Happy Birthday die is by Spellbinders and I added the finishing touch of just a bit of burlap with a red button attached with twine. The card is on a 5 1/2" square card base.

My challenge to you as we know January is organization month ~ as you take your calendar down - can it be up-cycled to make 12 or more beautiful cards? I'd love to see them!

Thanks for stopping by to see mine.  I hope to post the remainder of the cards pulled from this calendar soon.

Pam

Happy Birthday Sparkles

Popping in today with Whimsy's Marina Fedotova design, Ruby's Christmas Wishes ~ which of course can be used for any kind of special wishes!

Today's card was used for a memorial entry honoring the founder of one of the Facebook Card Swapping sites.  Our dear friend Jennifer loved all things purple and with sparkles!

It was also delivered to one of my long time friends several days ago in celebration of her birthday TODAY ~ January 13th.
Happy Birthday Missy!

The image was printed on 110# card stock, then colored with Copic markers (referenced below).  Dies used were Pink & Main Stitched Square and Gina Marie Designs Frilly Lace Nesting Rectangle

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I've been working on.  Your comments are always welcome.

You Have My Heart

Although it's been a few days since I've posted, my hands have not been idle.    I just thought I could slow down after Christmas, but so far the first ten days of 2019 haven't indicated that will be a new pattern for this year.  With all the newly released digital Valentine images from Whimsy Stamps plus adding several from the Whimsy's designer Sylvia Zet.... the joy of coloring each day has sure been being well fed!  I've really proud of the unique and assorted one of a kind Valentine Cards I've made so far that are available for sale to suit the special someone in your life, from your grand child all the way to the love of your married lives.

Today I wanted to share with you another cute Digital Image by CC Designs and available through Whimsy, named Aimee & Valentino.  Even though these images are 'children', the addition of the entwined hearts and the heart shaped locket with key charm reinforces the adult message of true love.

For those that would like to make a card similar to mine; here's a few details.  You can purchase your digital copy of Aimee & Valentino through the Whimsy store.  Knowing I was going to use a 5 1/2" square white card base, I sized the digital image to about 3" square.  I printed the image on Neenah 110# Card stock, then colored using Copic Markers. (See colors reference below**).

Sometimes when you want a lot of layers, it is fun to just flip through your box of dies and see what you can come up with.  I used six different dies to make all the layers on this card. I will list them next but keep in mind, you could use any type of die as long as you layered them so they go smaller as you work your way up to the top where the image goes.

Building from the bottom white 5 1/2" card base: 1) Solid red 5 1/4" square matching red photo mat, 2) Red flowered paper (Stampin Up) cut with the My Favorite Things ~ Stitched Basic Edges. 3) & 4) Then both the navy blue and the white layers came from the same set - Darice Nesting Book Page Dies.  5) Up in the left corner is of the card is the Party Banner Die from the  Gina Marie Die Set, and 6) the Love Locket die in the bottom left is also a Gina Marie Die, and 7) Entwined Heart Die is by Momenta.

Always be careful to leave 'room to breathe' around your images, especially when you are using lots of dies or multiple embellishments.  Never loose sight of your focal point of the card ~ YOUR hand colored image. After assembling all of the dies surrounding the colored image, I threaded a small piece of black yarn through the locket and added a Key Charm from Charming Embellishments to complete the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my latest card.  I'd love to see you flip over to the Whimsy store, Digital store and purchase Aimee and Valentino for your stash; then show me your creation on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration page on Facebook.

Serving a Risen Savior,
Pam
