To the Moon and Back

A very special little boy turned 9 years old a few days ago. Like all our children and grand children, it's hard to believe how fast they go from infants to toddlers to teenagers.  It seems they are dramatically changing every time you see a new photo of them or get to visit them.

For his birthday card, I selected Stamping Bella's Tiny Townie Astronauts.  I wanted him to know I will always love him, even when I'm not in his everyday life.

I started by stamping each of the tiny astronauts on a strip of white heavy cardstock.  Each image was then colored using Copic markers.  I carefully fussy cut them out  and die cut the stamped sentiment from the same stamp set.

I found the background paper in my stash, it's sorta like a fiber type paper.  I sure think it is perfect for this design. Like all fiber paper, it was a bit difficult to get it to adhere to the card base and then to get the images to stick to the card front.  But I use a Book Binding liquid glue for all my cards, and after holding just a bit longer than 'normal' everything stuck just fine.

I tied the deep aqua ribbon around the top fold and tucked the sentiment tag under the knot.  I added a multicolored enamel dot on the tag top to complete the card design.

Thank you for stopping by today to view my blog. I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to 'Follow' my blog and to visit my site - "Not Just Scraps' on Facebook - where you can purchase my cards.
