Thankful for the Challenge

Have you ever been a member of a card swap group? Or something similar to that ~ where each month you  signed up for different challenges, made your assignments and posted your received items?

I vividly remember the first time I signed up to swap one of my cards ~ I was so very nervous!  And to post on Facebook something that I had colored ~ what! No way was I comfortable with doing that!!!

The biggest part of any of these type groups is the participation of the members.  While a handful of the members can hold the group together for a while, before long the handful dwindles and one by one, they feel like they are in overload, carrying the group, feeling abused,... and suddenly, they too want to take a break.  We all know what the next step is ~ the group closes up, shuts down, from sheer lack of participation.  Then everyone feels bad and the "I wish I could have", "I should have", "I would have" comes out.

It really makes me proud to be part of Addicted to Card Making 2.0.  While we have our struggles just like any other group, we have so much going for us.  We aren't large in number but we are family.  We don't worry about giving big prizes but we are blessed.  We don't post ugly comments about each other's work but we are thankful and strive to give positive feedback to all levels of card makers. After all, we all started with crayons and a blank piece of paper!
