Earlier this month I made today's card for a special girlfriend that I met through Unity Stamp, Growing In Unity postings. I actually have traveled to her state (AZ) and was able to meet her, her family and spend some time sight seeing with her. Whoever thinks virtual friends aren't 'real friends' ~ they are just wrong.
My friend's nickname is 'Sunflower' and of course she loves them dearly! It's a very appropriate nickname for her - she truly does desire to seek light and truth.
For her card I selected Graciellie Designs' Tulips and Daisies Digital Stamp Set.
Here's my completed card, then a few details.
After sizing the image for an A2 card base, I added the script 'happy birthday' and also added a second flower in another area of the page layout. I printed this on Neenah 110# card stock.
I colored both images the same using my Copic markers. Then I took the second image and cut closely to the border. Using Glossy Accents, I covered the entire second flower and let it dry overnight.
I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching on the edge of the first image and covered the front of a 4 x 6 card base with coordinating green barn board paper.
When the second flower was dry, I used several foam squares to raise it above the first image, and curled the edges upward. I added a tiny ladybug using a heavy duty glue dot.
In my message to her, I told her the ladybug was 'me' along for the ride to help her celebrate her birthday.
Thank you for stopping by today. I enjoy sharing my work
with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not JustScraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.
