Life Is An Adventure

Today I'm sharing a custom designed card for one of my customer's Dad's birthday.

The request was for a red truck in the mountains.  I knew immediately that I wanted to use Angie Blom's Dream Big Mountains for the background.  I've used this on several previous cards and loved the results.

Next I scanned through all of my Angie Blom's digital files and came across the perfect truck in the Winter Wonderland set.  Another great thing about working with digital images ~ if you are familiar with this image, there is a snow covered tree in the back of the truck.  For my design, I just blocked that part out and layered the truck into the mountain scene.

In the next layer, I added the sentiment 'Life is an adventure', and then printed the image on Neenah 110# cardstock.

I colored the image with my Copic markers, which are referenced below.  After deciding on the matting paper, I used the Tattered Lace Hemstitch Square.  This is the first time I've used this die and I LOVE the edge and stitch it makes!

I mounted the colored image and plaid matting on a brown 6" card base.  To balance the red across the design,  I added the red string with a tiny clock at the knot.

One more tiny step ....  I used glossy accents on the windshield and window to complete my card design.

Always wait until the last step for this. No matter how careful you are, you'll end up putting your finger in it!  Lay it flat to dry for several hours.

Thank you for stopping by today to view my blog. I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to 'Follow' my blog and to visit my site - "Not Just Scraps' on Facebook - where you can purchase my cards.
