Sing and Make Music

from your heart to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:19) 

I'm sharing another male birthday card today.  For this one I used Stampin Up Country Livin'  set with the scripture sentiment from Ephesians.

This special birthday guy's hobby of playing the guitar and singing is even more special now as he sings to their new baby girl.  He's definitely a blue jeans and boots kinda guy!

It's a bit tricky to stamp rubber stamps as close as this image.  In this case the guitar needed to be leaning on the boots.  Instead of stamping and missing, I learned a trick from one of my fellow cardmakers. 

You simply lay a piece of acetate over the area you need to stamp, putting one of the magnets on it (assuming you are using a Misti or some type stamping platform), then lightly ink your stamp and stamp on the acetate.  The ink wipes off easily and you can reposition your stamp and try again - without messing up your paper or the other stamped images! 

After getting the image stamped nicely, then I used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Memory Box, Matinee Rectangles for the decorative edge on the image and the sentiment.

I cut the brown cardstock card base to 4 1/2" x 6" and mounted the music paper matting.  Then I added the colored image and sentiment layers.  I used a piece of heavy twine to tie the cross on for the finishing touch.
