Grateful ~ Embossing Challenge

Who's ready for cooler weather ~ Raise Your Hand!

As the winds from the most recent Tropical Storm blew across the lake here in South Carolina the last few days, it didn't take long to start wishing for cooler fall days.  But we still have lots of summer left here before it's pumpkin season.

However, I joined in for an embossing folder challenge and made this Grateful card that I'd like to share with you today.

I used the Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest Embossing folder with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock for the initial die pressing of the pumpkins.  To color the pumpkins and vines I was able to use a finger dauber and Quick Quotes Chalking Inks.  The Pumpkins are done with Orange Slices,  the vine of leaves with Khaki and the background is Buttercup.

I selected the olive cardstock to match the vine and cut the card base to have a top fold.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die set to add the decorative edging around the completed embossed piece.  Next I secured this layer to the card base and added the brown organza ribbon with a knot, then added a cross charm.

For the sentiment I die cut the word Grateful from the My Favorite Things, Grateful for You stamp and Die set.
NOW, I have ONE card ready for Thanksgiving and a lot more to go!

Thank you for stopping by today to view my blog.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards.

  1. Great card. I hung on to this embossing folder for so many years then sold it. Now that I see your card I've got that "I want it back" feeling. [Bunny]
