Freshly Brewed Happy Birthday

Today I'd like to share with you the birthday card I made for my sister in law a few weeks ago.  As most card makers like to do, merging stamps from two artists or different companies is a great challenge and really opens up a lot more possibilities for our creative minds!  

That's exactly what I did for this card.  I wanted to use a cute little girl from Polkadoodles Crafting and I also wanted to use a coffee mug or latte cup.  I selected the Latte cup and label from Graciellie's Digital Design's package Spring Coffee Cup and used the label also.  Then I grabbed Polkadoodles, Winnie Sunshine Delight Coffee from Polkadoodles Crafting.  With both of these being digital packages, it's easy to size the images to fit each other and the card size that you have in mind.

Here's my finished card and then a few details.

First I enlarged the label to fit on the latte cup, then added the Happy Birthday in the center banner.  I left this layer on top of the latte cup for printing.  

In a separate area of my layout I pulled in the Polkadoodles Winnie Sunshine Delight Coffee girl and then slid her over to size her just about the same size as the latte cup.  When I had her the size I thought looked appropriate, then I moved her away enough to allow cutting around both pieces and then printed the images on Neenah 110# card stock.  

I used my Copic markers for coloring and then fussy cut out both pieces.   I mounted these on a coordinating pre-embossed checkered board aqua patterned paper and then added that to the magenta 5 x 7 card base.  For the finishing touch I added the white organza ribbon, music note charm, and of course, her name on the label.
