Hope You're Back On Your Feet Soon

I've been trying to work on several Get Well cards lately but it seems I'm using them as fast as I can get them put together. Do you find that the case where you are?

The set from Digi Doodles named Chicken Soup Pairables is an amazing set with four chicken images plus the cute sentiments to go with them.  {You'll see another one from the set soon too, so keep watching.}

After sizing the image to fit the A2 size card base I printed the image on Neenah 110 # card stock.  I used Copic markers for coloring (referenced blow) and the Gina Marie Designs Label 3 for the background matting.

I used a red standard A2 card base and layered the blue background paper and the image, securing each one.  The sentiment covers the bottom right corner and then I added the remaining enamel dots to the inside of the package for the receiver.  For the final touch I add the aqua enamel dots on the sentiment and randomly at the top, then added the twine and the clock charm at the top.

You're a Cut Above the Rest

Today's image on my featured card comes from C. C. Designs Lumberjack Guys set.  It's advertised as 'These guys will steal your heart!' and I believe they did mine.  Of course having a son that cuts trees professionally might have something to do with that also!

The set has four of these cute little lumberjacks and it's a tough call which one to pick to color and make a card with first.

After stamping Neenah 110# card stock, I used my Copic markers for coloring and then I die cut the image and the plaid matting with the Memory Box Matinee Rectangular Layers dies.  I layered and secured these on a standard white A2 card base, then added the brown twine in the fold of the card base and finished my design by adding the tree charm.

Life Is Tough ~ But So Are You

Another one of my favorite digital artist is Angie Blom of Angie Blom Digital Designs.  Most of you know her from the many years she was with Unity Stamps and her famous 'Angie Girls' that we all collected in the red rubber stamps.

I was totally thrilled when I was Angie's Monthly winner for February with her 'A Warm Hug Girl' card.  I was able to get a couple of new packages with the $20 gift card that I won! Be sure to check out her monthly contest on her facebook page ~ Angie Blom's Digital Creations

For today's card, I'm showcasing her amazing Bengal Tiger ~ 'You're One Cool Cat'.  I love the sentiment in this package, which I've used for the title of today's blog...

Life Is Tough ~ But So Are You

After Copic coloring I used the Whimsy Stamps Zig Zag Rectangle Die for the edge.  The black background die is Torn Panel by Crafters Companion and is mounted on a blue 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.  I added the hashtag words from a scrapbook tag packaging and used a micro gold filigree' tread around the top for the final touch.

Let's Celebrate ~ M&M Style!

There are those that love M&Ms and then there are those that LOVE M&Ms!!!  My sweet sister-in-law Lisa, not only LOVES them and also has a collection of them that is beyond amazing.

(I'll tell you more about that in a bit. Let's get back to today.)

Today is Lisa's BIRTHDAY and what better way to CELEBRATE than with an M&M Birthday Eclipse card.

To make this card, I started with the background M&M paper and die cut the word 'party' about 1/2" from the bottom and 1/4" from the right side. It's very important to keep all the tiny pieces from inside each of the letters.

Then using the 'party' die, I cut 6 more out of white card stock ~ gluing and stacking each of these on top as I cut. The top layer  (layer 7) should be the layer cut from the M&M paper.

I used a Free Goggle Image for the lady M&M and sized her to be about 4" tall.  After coloring her with my Copic markers I fussy cut her and added small foam dots around the edges of her back/legs and one larger one in the center of her back.

I used an A2 left fold card base and secured the background M&M paper down.  I carefully added the completed 'party' stack and carefully added all the tiny background elements.  Lastly I added the 'Let's Celebrate' sentiment, which has a couple of small foam squares on the back also and overlaps slightly onto the green M&M.

So... If you are ever near Burlington, North Carolina you must stop in The Glass Angel to see Lisa.  You will be doubly blessed - first by her amazing stained glass work and secondly by her out of this world M&M Collection!

Be sure to tell her Pam sent you.

In Winston's Garden

It's a new Challenge Blog (Week 17)  release at Polkadoodles Crafting over in the UK today!  Our challenge was 'Include a Butterfly'.  I'm showcasing Polkadoodles Winston Bear Gardening.

I've colored this sweet image with my Copic markers and used digital papers from the Work Play 10 collection and Winnie Collection 2 for the background. I've added the sentiment from the  Winnie Sunshine Delights Sentiment package and finished with a fun coordinating carrot ribbon.

Be sure to check out all the Design Team inspirational cards on the Challenge Blog and post yours also!

Be Truly Glad

Happy Friday!

It's a double posting day for me with two different design teams ~ a busy but fun day too.

Over on the Colour Crazy Challenge, we are kicking off the week with our sponsor All Dressed Up.  If you haven't visited their Etsy store, you need to as their images are so dainty and sweet!  One of my favorite digi stores.

For my project card, I selected Fairy Swing  and added the scripture from 1 Peter 1:6

Be truly glad, There is wonderful JOY ahead.   1 Peter 1:6

I used my Copic markers for coloring the Fairy Swing image and then die cut using Gina Marie Designs Drop Pendant set and a scrap of peach scallop cardstock from my bits & pieces box.  I selected the polka dotted background paper to compliment the multiple colors of the flowers.

After securing all these layers together, I added them to a top fold A2 card base.  For the final touch I added the organza ribbon with the cross accent.

Be sure to check out ALL the Design Team cards using All Dressed Up images.  And of course, I'd love to see your card entered too!

Bubbles Happen

As I chatted with one of the online Facebook sellers this week, we agreed 100% how neat it is that our rubber stamps and even some of the clear stamps hold up so well and can be easily re-homed to another crafter.  It's really not hard to take care of your stamps, inks and crafting tools to make them last for you.  Most hold their value and are fairly easy to resell in the online groups.

This was the case with the stamp set I used to make today's cute and simple card.  I purchased this set named Bubbles from one of my online friends  private stash. The original stamp set came from Our Craft Lounge.

Ready for a chuckle?

Now isn't that the cutest?

I used one of the left over bubble die frames from earlier in the retreat and added it to the white die cut Rectangular Stitched matting.  I filled in the 'turtle's bubble' dots with gold Stickles and added a few of the die's circles back into the die for a little extra balance. After stamping 'Bubbles Happen' across the bottom, I finished up the card with an organza ribbon on the fold side of the card.  Easy peasy and so cute!

Happiness is Being With You!

Today I'd like to share the April Digi of the Month from Imagine That Digistamp.  Their image Tea Cup Bunny is another adorable freebie - IF you use it in your blog during the month and post to their challenge.  What a great way to add free images to your stash!

So here's my take using Tea Cup Bunny

After coloring the image using my Copic markers, I fussy cut around him and then colored the edge with Copic B00 to soften the edge.  I used a printed scrapbook paper that had the 'Happiness' sentiment printed in the corner and cut it to fit the A2 card front.  I planned to use this card for a swap challenge that called for a die cut border, so I added the next layer of blue with the fancy edging.  Then I placed several foam squares on the back of the colored image at the ears and rose.  I glued the image at the bottom which allowed the image to appear to be dimensional. For the final touch I added the organza ribbon that coordinates with the roses.

FKS Retreat ~ Family is the Anchor

As with all retreats, the last day comes too quickly. No one is ready for the time together to end. Not ready to pack up all this stuff and certainly not ready to make the long drives home.  But with about half of the ladies leaving at lunch and the rest taking advantage of the extended hours til early afternoon, the crafting continued at a furious rate.

The theme for the day was a focus on Family and the Scriptures.  Here's one of the freebies for you ~

One of the card kits that was handed out for Sunday was for this die cut sea shell card.

Around lunch time we gathered up all our gaming tickets and did the drawings for the door prizes!   I had THREE company sponsors this time.

Gina from Gina Marie Designs gave us a $10 store credit.

And Debra from Scrapslot, LLC gave us FOUR page kits!

Denise from Whimsy Stamps gave us a $25 store credit and also sent everyone this stamp set free!

We do love our Whimsy Stamps

One of my crafters from VA made a beautiful diamond dot mermaid and framed it for a door prize also.  Here's what she donated ~ giving it to the winner!

Julie receiving the Diamond Dots from Marianne!

We all really had a great time and everyone got home safely too!  I hope you'll keep popping in to see the 15 or so cards I made while at the retreat ~ over the weeks to come.

And one more for you to save for later ~

The Secret Ingredient

If you've been following the posts last week about my Spring Retreat, I'm taking a pause today to bring you my Mid-month Inspirational post for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop.

Please pop back tomorrow to see the rest of the For Keeps Sake Spring Retreat!

For my project card this month I've selected Jan's Flour Child (Which by the way, is currently on sale!).  Oh how I wish I'd had this image at my Fall Retreat where the theme was Memories Are Homemade.  These adorable kids in the kitchen are just too sweet!

Here's my finished card, then a few things about how it's made.

After sizing for an A2 card front, I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock,  I used my Copic markers for coloring and then die cut the edge with Pink & Main's Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die.  I selected the background mat (which says 'dairy' and 'milk') to match the little boys shirt and die cut it using the same set.

For this one, I used a side fold card base so that I could tie the brown twine around the left side fold.  For the finishing touch I added a hand mixer charm.

I hope you'll visit Jan's store for other great digital images and also her Challenge Blog. There you can see the other Design Team members cards of inspiration and also add your own to the challenge!

FKS Retreat ~ Sketch Challenge

Long about Saturday afternoon after supper is the time where everyone starts slowing down a bit.  We know our time will be over before we're ready but lack of sleep is starting to set in.

"Nurse Jennie" to the rescue!

With Nautical page kits prepared for everyone, the challenge of creating a page or card from her sketch was laid out for us.  Here's her inspirational page

and the sketch drawing for everyone to go by.

One of the best parts about a group activity like that is to see all the different ways of interpreting the task.  So sit back and enjoy all the creations!

Afterwards, I finished mine up with a Copic colored image from Our Craft Lounge, Bubbles.

Still more to share ~ so I hope you'll come back tomorrow!

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I've been working on.  I hope you will 'follow' my blog and visit my Facebook page, Not Just Scraps.  I sell my cards there and other crafting items.

I'll be sharing the last photo for the following challenges.
