Santa Scooting By to Say...

Merry Christmas!

Today's letter is 'S' for Beccy's Place ~ 30 Days of Christmas Cards.

I had several of my cards that would have filled this slot but this Penny Black image made the final cut.

This is their 'Scooting By', another big and bold stamp that makes a great showing for your cards.

I've stamped the image on Neenah 110# cardstock and colored with my Copic markers.  I love the little birds in this image too!

The decorative edge was done using the Tattered Lace, Hemstitch Square die set.  It's a bit hard to see but I used the die on the red patterned matting also.

I matched the aqua coloring to a 12" x 12" piece of scrapbooking cardstock and cut at 6" to fold for the card base.  Then I secured the red matting paper and the image to the center of the card base.  Instead of a ribbon, I used a red button with the 'Dec 25' brad on top and secured them at the top left corner to complete the card design.

Thank you for stopping by today to view my blog. I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to 'Follow' my blog and to visit my site - "Not Just Scraps' on Facebook - where you can purchase my cards.

It's mid month posting time for Jan's Digital Stamp Shop and all of her Design Team has been busy making another set of great cards for you to see.  You can see all of the team's work on the Challenge Blog, and enter your cards there too.

But first, let me share my card with you using Jan's Fall BerriesDon't let that title fool you... they may work for fall but oh gosh!  They sure work for winter too! .

After sizing the image for an A2 card, I added the sentiment 'Warm Wishes'  to the left of the image and then printed this on Neenah 110# card stock.

I used a few of my favorite Copic colors for the jug ~ BG72, BG78 and BG90.  For the stem, I used the Sepia multiliner along with E25.  The berries are colored using R14, R29, and R37.  Of course, never forget to ground your work - the shadow was colored with W3.

I used Pink & Main Stitched Rounded Square die for the edge and then found a great 4 x 6 Creative Memories paper that matched the jug perfectly.   The faded white vertical line on the left was part of this paper also. I used very narrow washi tape to achieve the gold vertical line and the two red patterned lines.

For the card bases, I selected a light gray cardstock and made the base 1/4" larger than the completed matting paper.  Then simply secured it to the front of the base to complete my design.

All Dressed in Red!

Hope you are having a very relaxing day of worship today.  I'm popping in to share my letter 'R' card for the 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge on Beccy's Place

I've selected this stunning RED cardinal from the Hero Arts clear stamp set, Holiday Cardinals.  This one came from my friends online craft store ~ Scrapsalot, LLC.  Check out her site for some amazing products!

When she showed me this stamp set, I'd already decided I didn't need another cardinal in my stamp supply.  But that didn't last long as this set is very versatile and a must have!

I used the largest stamp in the set which has the cardinal on the beautiful green wreath.  After stamping the image and the sentiment separately, I used Copic markers for coloring.

The decorative edge on the image was done using Spellbinders, Labels 15 and the sentiment tag was done using a small double fishtail die.

The card base is 5" square covered in a dark green cardstock with the green patterned paper secured on top.  I added the colored image to the top left and angled the sentiment across the bottom right edge.  The tag needed a little something to make it pop, so I added the red polka dotted mini washi tape strip under it to complete the card design.

Quirky Christmas Birds

Today's letter is 'Q' on Beccy's Place 30 Day Christmas Card challenge.  I've used this pair of 'Quirky' Christmas birds for my card entry.

I colored this silly pair with Copic markers and used the Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die set for the image and the Christmas patterned background.

After securing the background paper to the A2 card base, I added a red liner to the completed image then secured them on top of the background matting.  For the sentiment stamp, I used Blue Belle Versa Clair ink on this cute sentiment stamp and mounted with a couple of foam squares.  Lastly I added the red organza ribbon at the fold and topped the knot with a Santa hat embellishment.

I hope you're enjoying all the Christmas card postings.  You know I love making all these cards for Christmas!

Designer Wrapping Paper

This week's Polkadoodle Design Team Challenge was to 'Create your own gift wrap on a box,' using Polkadoodles products.

I decided to use one of Polkadoodles Christmas Crafting Dies, the PD7365 Fancy Intricate Bauble .  This is one of my favorite Christmas dies which can be used in many ways.

Here's my completed project, and then a few details and photos of how I made the gift wrap.

I started with a single cut of the Bauble die and glued it to a scrap of white cardstock.  Then I used Copic markers B06 and RV66 to color in all of the 'white space'.

I scanned this into my computer then duplicated the image over the 8 1/2" x 11" card stock.

After printing the first sheet (bottom), I realized there was too much space between the ornament designs. To fix that, I just continued copying the bauble at a reduced size and filled in the spaces.  However, I still wasn't happy with it.

Then I decided it needed a little stencil work also, so I grabbed two Polkadoodles stencils.  For the larger ornament page, I used the Confetti Layering Stencils with Distressed Oxides Wild Honey, Pumice Stone and Shaded Lilac.

For the ornament sheet with small and large ornaments, I used Timeless Rose, Delicious Swirls stencil and Distressed Oxide Spun Sugar.

Next I wrapped my gift boxes with each piece and tied coordinating Organza ribbon bows on each.  Turned out pretty cute, don't you think!

Peace, Good Will Toward Men

We are on the letter 'P' today in the 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge on Beccy's Place

I've selected one of Beccy's images, 'Blessings for the Season' for my Poinsettias and Peace entry.

The sentiment 'Glory to God in the highest' is one of my favorites especially at Christmas.  It's so easy to be too busy to remember this not just at Christmas ~ in all that we do, give God the Glory!

As you can see I made two cards using the same digital layout.  The one in the foreground I used Gina Marie Designs, Label Six and the back design I used Penny Black Elegant Stitching.  Both are colored with the same shades of Copics.

You're the Man

Today we are opening another week's challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge blog.  Our sponsor is Doctor Digi's House of Stamps and I've selected Ambrose Dunderton for my project card with Team B.

For this card I started by sizing the image to just over 3" tall and printed him on Neenah 110# cardstock.  I used Copic markers for coloring and die cut the edge with a simple X-stitched rectangle die.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, Old Friends.  After stamping it, I added a dark green liner mat to make it the same width as my completed image.

The A2 card base is Kraft and is covered with a green patterned paper with random numbers. Perfect for this 'mature' masculine birthday card.  After securing the image and sentiment in the center of the card, I wrapped a green string at the fold twice and added the 'musical note' charm at the knot then tied a simple bow.

Be sure to check the Colour Crazy Challenge blog to see all the Design Team cards and enter yours too!

O Come Let Us Adore Him

The next letter for the Beccy's Place 30 Days of Christmas Cards is 'O'.  I'm using "O Come Let Us.." and also have two ovals in my card design.

This stamp set came from Sweet 'n Sassy and is named Adore Him.  I also played along with them this past weekend as they celebrated their birthday. I'll be sharing those cards down the road a bit.

To make this card, I stamped the baby Jesus and the sentiment separately on white cardstock and colored using my Copic markers.

Then I die cut to get the oval shape using a stitched oval on the baby and a x-stitch on the sentiment.

I've covered the A2 sized card base with a light blue patterned paper that I embossed with the Sizzix Arched Embossing Folder.  Then I added the horizontal gold and white strip across the center and secured the sentiment vertically on the left and the baby Jesus horizontally, slightly over the edge of the sentiment oval.

Lastly I added the navy organza ribbon at the fold and tied the star charm in the knot.

Nativity Joy!

Today's letter is 'N' for Beccy's Place 30 day Christmas Card challenge as we are over half way through the month!  I hope you are enjoying the cards as much as I did making them.  Maybe you are playing along with Beccy too!

This card is probably the most special of all the ones I have made or will make for the 2022 Christmas Season.

For the past couple of years, my church has allowed me to make the Christmas Card from the church family to be used with our Connie Maxwell Children's Home gifts.  What an honor and a privilege this is for me.

This year I selected a Precious Moments digital of the Nativity scene.

To make this card, I sized the image to just under 4" and printed it on 110# Neenah cardstock.  It's colored with Copic markers which are referenced below.

I made the 6" square card base out of a cream cardstock, then added the background matting of the gifts from the wise men.

Next I secured the completed image in the center of the top fold base and added the small sentiment tag with a tiny black enamel dot from my Christmas tag stash.

Lastly I added the coordinating olive green string at the top, wrapping it three times, then adding the cross charm in the knot.

I also added the printed sentiment inside:

May the Joy of our Savior's birth

be with you every day.

Merry and Bright!

Happy Tuesday!  It's 'M' Day for the Beccy's Place 30 day Christmas card challenge and I'm still enjoying every day of this event.  Over the weekend one of my cards was the random number winner!  I'm so grateful and excited to see that I won $10 credit towards my next purchase in her store.

If you haven't been on the Beccy's Place site and shopped her digital images, you really should take a moment to do that.  PLUS she has quite a few that will be retiring at the end of the year.  Many you won't want to miss!

For my 'M' card, I've selected the super cute bunch of Merry and Bright snowmen. This image is from Sheepski Designs and is named Snowmen Selfie

I sized the image to just under 4" tall and printed it on 110# Neenah cardstock.  They are colored with Copic markers which are referenced below.

The card base is a standard A2 white base.  As you can see, the image is matted in a bright red then added to the card front.  Then I added an additional red strip to block in the white space below the image.  I stamped a generic "Merry Christmas" on a scrap of white cardstock, then added a couple of foam squares to the back and secured it at the bottom in the center of the card front.

Lastly I added Diamond Stickles on all of the fur pieces in the image and set it aside to dry.

Another cute card for my 2022 Christmas Card Stash!
