Stay Close to the Candles

Happy Sunday afternoon from the coast of Georgia where we are visiting family today.

It's time for a new month of entries for The Corrosive Challenge Blog and again we have two sponsors - The Colour of Love and MMedel Illustrations.  For my card today, I've selected "Candle Witch" from The Colour Of Love.

Here's my completed card, then a few details on how I made it.

I started by sizing the image to 5 1/2" tall x 4" wide, then printed her on Neenah 110# cardstock.  I used my Copic markers for coloring. I had found a new color combo for grey/black hair using B41 and I really like the way it turned out.  I knew I wanted to color her dress a deep orange and wanted something different for the cape.  Not sure I'd do the green again, but it's a nice change. Lastly, I used a finger dabber to fill in the background with Stormy Sky Distressed Oxide.

I typed the vertical sentiment myself and matted it on a yellow cardstock with just a thin line showing for a bit of dimension.  The card base is 6" square with the fold at the top and covered in a deep navy Brazzil paper. I secured the image on the left side then added the sentiment with a slight overlap.
