Believe in Yourself Every Day

I'm totally excited to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Brutus Monroe.  I can't wait to show you what I've been working on.

My first card is using the Brutus Monroe 'Flutter' background stamp and Copic markers.  Here's my completed card and then a few details about how I created it.

This background stamp is quite large - measuring 6" square.  I stamped it on Neenah 110# card stock and started matching Copic markers in monochromatic sets of Purples, Greens, and Blues.  Alternating colors as I worked around the card, the light and dark shades started really working together and the butterflies seemed to begin to come to life.

It's hard to see, but I also added Wink of Stella to different spots on each butterfly.  I grabbed a couple of the larger square Tattered Lace Nesting Beaded Chain dies (discontinued) and die cut the image, and a galaxy background paper.  I wanted the image to have a different edge, so I carefully cut the top part of each chain off, leaving a new edge without actually having a new die.

When completed, I stamped the sentiment in the center using Versa Fine Black ink and added a few enameled dots randomly around the card.

I used a 6" white card base and added the background paper. Then I applied foam tape around the edges and across the middle on the back of the colored image. With an image this large it's especially important to apply plenty of foam tape to ensure the top stays flat and pretty.

Once that was added to the card base, I positioned three coordinating enamel dots around the sentiment to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by today - your comments are always welcome.

Serving a Risen Savior,
Pam
