Sending Valentine Love

Today I'm sending you a little 'Valentine' Love from All Dressed Up with this adorable fairy with her bow and arrow as she is blowing heart kisses to you. This was one of the freebies from Kit and Clowder and the image is called Love Hearts

This image is so delicately drawn I didn't want to make her too large so I left her just under 3".  I used Copic markers for coloring and then used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die to get the decorative edge.

I covered a standard A2 card with light green solid paper, then added a red dotted strip.  The next layer is a lavender square the same size as the colored image.  Then I stamped the 'sending love' with lavender Versa Clair ink on the colored image then secured it to the card base.  Lastly I added Clear Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings to give the extra pretty glow and complete the card.

Forever Love

Today I'd like to share another super sweet Valentine card. This image is from Di's Digital Stamps and is called Forever Love.

After sizing the image to fit a 5" card base, I printed it on Neenah 110# card stock. I love the larger image sizes which allow for more room for shading, especially for 'older' eyes!

For this one I've used the Memory Box Matinee Rectangle die set for the image and the sentiment.  I covered the 5" card base with the dotted patterned paper then added the completed image.  The sentiment came from Simon Says, Lovin Heart and is slightly overlapping the image for balance.  Since this one was going to my grandson, I elected not to add a bow or ribbon.

Toss Me a Heart!

Today I'm sharing another Valentine card ~ this one has a cute image from Stampendous House Mouse Designs, Heart Treats.

To make this card, I stamped the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used an older die that I'd been gifted since I liked the way the table edge fit across the width of the die.  But then after cutting, I was left with a large white space under the table.

It didn't take long to figure out this would be a perfect place for the sentiment.  Using the smallest die in this set, I die cut it out of the solid blue which I'd used for the matting, and stamped the sentiment 'you're so sweet'.

I used an A2 sized card base and added the solid pink background.  As I secured the mat and colored image, I still was pleased with the sentiment just 'filling in the space' under the table.  So I raised the top of the sentiment with several foam squares, and then secured the bottom with my normal glue. This slightly tilted and raised effect really worked well to complete the card.

Live Life in Full Bloom

Today I'm here with Jan's Digital Stamps Design Team as we kick off February's new challenge for the month.

Jan's birthday was a few weeks ago and today I'd like to share with you the card I made for her special day.  I've used her Spring Tiger Lilies in deep burgundy tones.

After sizing the image to fit my A2 card front, I've printed it on Neenah 110# card stock.  For the flower and buds I've used Copics BV34, R56 and R89.  I remember a time when you couldn't have gotten me to use the 'reds' for a large image.  I'm so grateful that now I'm comfortable with all the shades.  I love the rich velvet look this color combo gives these beautifully drawn lilies.  The greenery was done with YG63, YG93 and G94.  It's a little hard to see in my photo, but I lightly colored the background using RV000 to soften the image.

After completing the coloring, I die cut the image using Spellbinders Label 10.  The 'left fold' A2 card base is covered with the coordinating burgundy patterned paper and then I secured the colored image on top.  A single wrap of dark green twine and simple bow tied to the left of the image finished off the card.

I hope you will visit Jan's Digital Stamp Shop for this image and many others.  Stop by the Challenge Blog to see all the Design Team cards and to enter yours too!

Philip Loves Suki

Good afternoon from the Corrosive Challenge Design Team as we release our February blog challenge today.  This month we are sponsored by Digi Doodles Studios.

For my card, I've selected the image Philip Loves Suki ~ a perfect image for Valentines or many other occasions.

I started by sizing the image to about 4" tall and 3" wide, then printed it on Neenah 110 pound cardstock.  A wide variety of  bright Copic markers was used for their clothes, which are referenced below for those who wish to try this combination.

I covered a 5 1/2" square card base with coordinating small heart paper and matted the image and the stamped sentiment with a piece of light brown, then added both to the base.  Lastly I added the deep aqua  border to the side to ground the image.

Be sure to visit the Corrosive Challenge blog to see the other Design Team cards and to enter your card for the monthly challenge.

New Year, New You!

Today I'm posting with the Colour Crazy Challenge Design Team as we bring you cards from our sponsor this week, All Dressed Up.  This is one of my favorite sponsors and I've selected New Year, New You for my card today.

After printing I've used my Copic markers in bright magenta and pink shades to give this little blondie a cute workout suit and used a decorative edging from Penny Black called Elegant Stitching.

The A2 sized card base is covered in a diamond patterned pink, yellow and purple patterned paper and the tilted solid mat is the coordinating magenta color.  After securing all the layers I added the tiny accent beads for the final touch to the cute card that is full of energy!

Bugs and Kisses

It's time to start sharing some of these cute little Valentine cards I've been making in between card orders and getting well.

This cute ladybug is from C. C. Designs, Ladybug Swissie and I just love her chubby little legs!

After stamping her on Neenah 110 cardstock, I used my Copic markers for coloring.  I returned the image to my Misti and added the sentiment using Purple Versa Clare ink.

Next I die cut the completed image using Gina Marie's Drop Pendant  dies.  The A2 sized card base is covered with the black and red dotted patterned paper.  I used a purple twine and wrapped around the top of the pendant and knotted on the back side, then secured this piece to the front of the card base.  Lastly I added the small wooden 'love' heart at the starting point of the twine.   Now she's ready for sending!

Wine & a Freebie

Today I thought I'd share a light hearted card that I recently made for someone very special who was going through some medical issues.  She certainly wasn't 'whining' over her problems, on the contrary, she really was keeping things within.  When we're going through life's valleys it's a good reminder to know we have family and friends that we can lean on and open up to.  True friends never feel burdened when you share your concerns.

This image is a free image from Google and I did the sentiment on my computer to fit the design.  I've colored it using various Copic markers and matted with a rust colored cardstock paper.  Both layers were then mounted on a standard A2 size card base to complete the card.

In Our Hearts Forever

This afternoon I'm joining my fellow Design Team members from Morgan's Art World as we kick off the February Challenge Blog.  We've all put together another set of amazing cards using Morgan's beautiful images and we hope you will enjoy them!  You can view all of the Design Team images by clicking HERE.  That's also where you can enter your cards for the month of February.

For my card, I selected Puppies and Kitten and made a sympathy type card.  Loosing a fur baby is hard, especially when they have been part of a family for many years.

When I sized this image to print, I made it for a 5 x 7 card front and placed the image all the way to the right side of the card, knowing I wanted to put a vertical sentiment of some sort down the left side.   I used Copic markers for coloring, which are listed below for your reference.  I added the puffy clouds with a handmade stencil and light blue chalking ink.

When I started to cut the dark green matting, I could see it was just going to need something else to balance my card.  So after trying several things, I landed on the Spellbinder edge with the light peach card base which coordinates well with the rose and other shades in the image.  I love pulling out an older edge die like this one and adding that extra touch.

The sentiment is computer generated and matted in a lighter green cardstock, then secured in place down the left side to complete the card design.

You Stole My Heart

For my card this month, I selected C.C. Designs Valentine Animals and of course picked my favorite animal ~ this sweet little giraffe!

I've stamped the giraffe image and then added the balloon and sentiment on Neenah 110# cardstock.  The coloring was done with Copic markers.

I've used a standard A2 card base, covered with a Valentine patterned paper.  The image and mat were die cut using Gina Marie Designs Labels Five.  After securing the layers on the card front, I added the pink organza bow to complete the design.
