Today I am sharing Moondrea Designs, "Sea Flower", her new image design for May. Isn't she the prettiest little mermaid!
For this design, I selected the background print first mainly because I happened upon it when looking for another card's mounting paper and thought it would work for this image. I knew I wanted to have the clam shell sitting underwater.
After sizing and printing her, I Copic colored the image and then fussy cut around. I went back with the darkest green (G85) and re-shaded the outer edges so that it would pop more against the background mounting. Then I made the computer generated sentiment and die cut it. After playing around a bit to get the placement ready, I clipped her to the paper and then secured the sentiment. Next I added a large 'wobbler' to the back of the mermaid right in the center. Then carefully secured her to the top of the paper, just to the left of the sentiment. Lastly I mounted the background paper to the 5" x 6" card base to complete the design.
And when a wave comes by....
Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on. I hope you'll visit Moondrea's Etsy store to see the other great designs and also visit the Facebook page to enter the Progressive monthly challenge.
