A few days ago my son in law celebrate his birthday with friends from their church. What a great feeling that brings to any parents heart to hear that is what the plan is for a celebration.
We have just come home from 4 days of vacation with them so I'm sure both he and my daughter are ready of other adult company! Here's the card I'll be giving him when we do have time together.
He loves to fish and enjoys coming up her to the lake for the day to do just that. After looking at several stamps and dies of fishermen, big fish, little fish and all the associated toys, I decided on the stamp set 'Gone Fishin' by Woodware Stamps.
For this one I started on the computer and spaced out the words I wanted to use, then printed the card front. I found a fishing rod sticker that was long enough to got from one corner to the other! Then I stamped the man character in the stamp set - the man holding the big catch and colored him to resemble my son-n-law. After cutting him out, I found a scrap of the red netting and added a small piece behind the guy holding he fish. Then I was able to stamp the hook, worm, fish and bobber straight onto the card front and color them. I matted the card front on an aqua blue color of card stock and then onto the tan fish paper. I used an additional piece of the background paper to cut out the head of the purple worm, top of the green lure and two of the red and white bobbers. I added a layer of foam to the back of each and then secured them to the card front. Once everything was secure and dry, I added this sheet to the olive green 6" cardstock top fold card base to complete the design.
Happy Birthday BRANDON!
Thanks for dropping by to see what I've been coloring. I hope you'll be back soon!
