Today we're celebrating my brother's birthday and I'm sharing the card I made for him. This year I wanted to focus on his musical talents. I quickly saw that a 6" card base was almost too small for all the instruments he plays!
I had recently purchased several gold die cut instruments from Jean on Scrapbook, Stamps and Craft Destash that were from Anna Griffin. I was able to use two of them, along with the Sax player, the piano die, and Happy Birthday music die that I already had. I die cut each out of gold cardstock except the piano - which is cut out of black.
I had not made this type card - with the acetate window, so I randomly selected one from Pinterest to follow. RemARKably Created by Janet Wakeland was the spot I landed and her directions were super easy to follow.

The only thing I did differently was not stamping the sentiment so it could be seen through the window. Then I was faced with wanting to write in the card and not really having much room. To fix this I added another piece of white cardstock and attached it at the top with musical washi tape, like a curtain. This allowed the view from the front to still have the white behind it and our writing be hidden on the inside back of the card base.
Happy Birthday Mike!
Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on. Hope you'll stop in tomorrow to see another All Dressed Up Design Team card.
