Steampunk Gina

One of the skills that I admired some of my crafting friends doing is making mixed media and steampunk cards.  This is a style I've never had much interest in but lately I seem to be gathering supplies for this type of crafting!  I'm a good gathering crafter!

For my selected image for Moondrea for May, I picked Steampunk Gina to see what I could do.  Before I could get her Copic colored - my standard medium - I sprained my right wrist! Not what was in my plans and definitely not able to hold a Copic marker.  Plan B ~ ever so slowly I began water coloring with my left hand.  I'm sure I painted more like she's colored (not enough white spaces) but hopefully you will enjoy her, especially her white skin like the living dead characters.

After water coloring I used a scalloped edge die for the image and the green matting piece.  Notice her hair is fussy cut around the die image and overlaps into the green matting area. The image has the black liner mat, then a piece of adhesive foam to raise her above the green mat.

I added a couple of preprinted sentiments, both with adhesive foam and then a jeweled key hole sticker to complete the card design.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.  Hopefully I'll get back in the swing of posting more soon.  I've got about 4 more weeks of the brace, so things are a bit slower for sure.

You can purchase Steampunk Gina at  Moondrea Designs Etsy store along with many other great designs.  Check out her monthly progressive challenge on the Facebook page also.
