Let's Celebrate!

Today I'm here with the Colour Crazy Challenge Design Team and our next Blog challenge.  This week's sponsor is All Dressed Up

For my project, I've selected Prosecco Time and this is my completed card.

To make this card, I sized the image for the height of an A2 card front but not quite as wide as normal.  I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.

I used Simon Says Twisted Scalloped dies for the edging.  The patterned paper came from a special friend from Florida. It is a perfect match!

I Haven't Been Everywhere....

Today's card is for one of my girlfriend's birthday - which is actually Friday.  Since we celebrated earlier this month (and I have several days of Design Team cards scheduled) I wanted to share her card today.

She's a 'Traveling Lady' and so this image from Stampendous -Travel-Home stamp set was perfect for her card.

Everywhere is definitely on her list! ~ and oh the memories she will make....

I stamped this image on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Memory Box Wrapped Scalloped Rectangle die for the image and the brown dotted Swiss background matting.  I mounted them on a peach card base that coordinated with the top suit case.  For the finishing touch I added a 'memories' tag and a wooden heart.

Happy Birthday my friend ~ May your travels be safe and your memories many!

A Monkey Mail Hello!

Today's featured card is from Polka Dot Orchard's Monkey Mail digital stamp set by Artist Kimberly Wiener.  This set comes with 19 images and 18 sentiments!  Be sure to check it out especially since it's currently on SALE!

For this card I simply selected the image - the monkey with the word hello beside her in the oval, and printed it on Neenan 110# card stock.  I used Copic Marks R81, R83, R85 and R56 to color the ring and monkey holding the mail.

I used a standard x-stitched rectangle to die cut the edges of the colored image and also the OMG! Hello background paper. Next I carefully cut out the hello out on the inside line, then traced the inside line with a black multi-liner.  I glued the background paper to a standard A2 card base. Then I cut a small piece of cellophane behind the open window and  glued it to the back of the colored image.  I carefully lined up the Hello onto the background paper so it would line up straight when I added the top layer.   After gluing it down, I added the few sequin sprinkles on top of the Hello.

I took double sided foam tape and went around the back of the open window and the edges of the colored image.  Lastly I removed the tape coverings and added the top layer to the card base, ensuring all the sequins were inside the window area. Wa-La ~ a Monkey Mail Hello Shaker Card!

Moments of the Season

Christmas in July may be nearing the end for 2020 ~ BUT WAIT!  You've got to check out the new digital package on Polka Dot Orchard!  Newly released Peppermint Wishes by owner Jessica Pickeral is simply adorable. (and on sale)

PLUS - this week only you can add the Digital PAPER & EPHEMERIA  package of Peppermint Wishes for FREE!

And here's my first card using these two packages.

After downloading my copy, I layered the candy cane background to fit an A2 size card base.  Next I added the left candy cane, then duplicated it and reversed it to match up to make the heart. For the next layer I selected the light tan in the background and made a text box.  The final layer is the sentiment.

I die cut using Gina Marie Designs Zig Zag Stitched die (discontinued)  set for the image and the background paper. The completed card is mounted on a Kraft A2 sized card base.

When Skies Are Stormy ~

Today's featured card is a digital from Whimsy Stamps, named Bella to the Rescue. It is part of their Sassy Cheryl's Illustrations.

I've made it up to use generically - as a get well, birthday or thinking of you.

After sizing for an A2 card front, I printed the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.   I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the image edge and the dark blue matting.

I found a miscellaneous stamp that fit perfectly in the 'flag' of her little umbrella boat.  Then I used Quick Quotes Chalking Inks and a cloud stencil to make the multi colored background sky.

Birthday Wishes For my Friend

Today's featured card is from Polka Dot Orchard's Blessed Lives digital package.  The package was designed by artist Jeanie Hayes and includes three images and two sentiments.

I adore this sentiment and made this card for my sister-in-law's birthday (yesterday).

To make this card, I sized the flowers to fit an A2 card front and positioned the sentiment close to the flowers.  I printed this on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.

After completing the coloring, I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching dies for the image and the green leaf printed matting.  I mounted both on the white card base and added my message inside.  The best part about this year's card for her is that I was able to hand it to her.  I'm so thrilled to have her and my brother back in SC for their retirement.

This image and many others are currently on sale at Polka Dot Orchard.  I hope you will pop over and load up your cart. There are so many great images!

Wishing you Bright Sunshiny Days!

Today's card was made for one of my best friends from my home town.  We were 'young mothers' together some 35+ years ago and spent lots of afternoon strolling our little ones.

For her card this year, I selected Polkadoodles, Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles ~ Float Away.  I love picking stamps and coloring them to resemble the person receiving them. This image is her up and down!

After printing to fit an A2 card base, I used my Copic markers for coloring.  For the decorative edges on the image and the water embossed matting, I used Penny Black's Elegant Stitching die set.  Next I returned the colored image to my Misti and stamped the sentiment.  Then I added the matting and then the image to the white card base.  Lastly I added glossy accents to her glasses for an extra dimensional effect.

Holy Cow!

When it was time to make a birthday card for one of my 'cow loving friends' I knew just the stamp to grab.  Penny Black's Grass Cake would be perfect!

With my image on Neenah 110# card stock, I was ready to color with my Copic markers.  Even though the black parts were 'inked', I still used several shades of "N" to shade them a bit.   After coloring I used the Tattered Lace Beaded Chain Nesting Die for the edge.

Next I typed the sentiments that I wanted to use.  Knowing her favorite color is purple, I used that for the card base.  It finished up just too cute!

Shine Our Own Light

The A2 sized image is on Neenah 110# card stock and I used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching for the edges of the image and the coordinating mat.
Since this encouragement card was made for a friend that doesn't particularly like animals, I strategically placed the sentiment over the cat in the image.   Sentiments don't always cover up our errors. Try placing your sentiment in different locations to balance your card or pop it up for added dimension.

I Will Be With You

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made this weekend.

I followed the youtube video for the Double Fold Point Technique.  (Reference:  https://youtu.be/S5NIdP-d548 )

Here's my completed card, the inside and a few details.

Inside

For this card I selected the Stamping Bella, Tiny Townie Pirate stamp.  I typed the scripture sentiment myself.

I stamped the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic markers for coloring.  I used My Favorite Things, Elegant Rectangle Stax nesting dies for the image and the sentiment inside the card.  The image sizes fit well as I made the Fancy Fold card from the video.

I was also able to use this card  for a second challenge. It required a fancy fold card, using a dimensional and enameled dots.  I used foam squares to raise the sentiment on the card front and added the orange enameled dot to the front and also the inside.

I was thrilled that this technique was so easy.  I hope you will try it also.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not JustScraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.
