Praying For You

Earlier this week I had to make a sympathy card for one of my high school friends whose husband lost his fight against cancer.  Even though we only see each other now in passing, my heart still hurts for her and her children during their time of sadness.

For her card I selected Altenew's Floral Sprig.

I stamped the floral image on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic R81, R83, R85 for the flowers and YG61, YG63, and G94 for the leaves and stems.  I selected a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company's Mourning Dove Sentiment Kit.

I used Penny Black's Elegant Stitching die for the image and tied a knotted web with green crochet thread.  I added this to the burgundy card base to complete the card.

My Grace is Sufficient

Recently I was the lucky winner on Graciellie's Design's New product drawings.  With my coupon I was able to select three of her wonderful digital packages.

Today I'd like to share the first card I made using Do Not Worry

I sized the image for my A2 card and added the sentiment from The Vine digi set.   After printing this on Neenah 110# card stock, I colored the bird and flowers using my Copic markers.  I used the Gina Marie Designs Petite Looped Lace die for the beautiful edging.

I placed the completed image on a coordinating teal card base and added a lighter teal organza ribbon.   I think you'll be seeing this design again.

When Little Boys Explore

Today I'd like to share a great little boy card using Polka Dot Orchard's Explore & Conquer digi set. This set was designed by Jeanie Hays.  In this set you will find three image stamps, three sentiment stamps plus one image and sentiment combo.

Here's my finished card and I feel sure if you've raised a son, this is a familiar image.

To make this card, I printed the main image on Neenah 110# card stock and colored using my Copic markers.  I used a tiny screen stencil and Quick Quotes Blue Jean chalking inks around the colored image.  I die cut the edges using Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  I also used the same die on a matching solid blue paper to use as a matting.  I layered the mat and image on a coordinating green card base, then added the sentiment from the same package.  For the finishing touch I added a royal blue string with a frog charm.

A Day of Happiness

Happy Monday and

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Liz!

Who would have thought when we met some 34 years ago that we would still be great friends?  I am truly blessed that our Lord has allowed our life's paths to cross.

For her birthday, I selected Unity Stamps' Angie Girl, Nia.

I stamped Nia on Neenah 110# card stock and colored her with my Copic markers,  I also stamped the image on gray and the floral print of her shirt.  I paper pieced each piece over the colored image.  I used a coordinating strip down the left side with several fun rectangles and finished her card with the sentiment tag and a twine bow.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Today I'd like to share a special card I recently made for the upcoming birth of a little girl in our church family.    I made this for our women's circle group to go along with our gifts.

I selected Whimsy Stamps, Cradled by the Moon, by artist Crissy Armstrong.

Although pictured in the frame, it is given separately with the frame for their nursery.

After stamping the image on Neenah #110 card stock I used my Copic markers for coloring.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the completed image and then cut a coordinating solid pink liner mat.   At this point I returned the image to my Misti and stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink.  I used a confetti die with multiple size stars and the same solid pink paper  to make the extra stars scattered around the image.

The frame opening was 6" square so I matched the small flower print and adhered it to a 6" card base.  Then I added the mat and image.

Inside the card I added a tagged sentiment that said,

For this child,
We have prayed.

With our quarantine situation, we certainly couldn't have a shower for the expecting parents.  However with the Amazon delivery of gifts, followed by the card and frame, we know they were showered with love from us.

Enjoy Life!

Today I'm here to share a fairly new image from Createful Hearts Digis & Designs, called Smooth Sailing featuring Bailey Hedgehog and Fin.

I sized the image to about 4" x 3" and printed it on Neenah #110 Card Stock. I used my Copic markers for coloring and one of Gina Marie Designs Double Stitched In and OutRounded Rectangle dies for the border.  I found a fun striped paper that looked 'beachy' and mounted it to the A2 size kraft card base.  I stamped the sentiment Enjoy Life! which looks like what Bailey and Fin are doing.  I added the red twine and enameled dots to finish the card.

I encourage you to enter your cards on the current monthly blog challenge for Createful Hearts.  Click here to enter your card.

Find Joy in the Simple Gifts of Spring

Today I wanted to share a card I made for a card swap which was to use a new stamp.  I decided to use these cute boots with a few spring flowers growing out of them.

This stamp is from Simon Says Stamps, Showers & Flowers.  I used my Copic markers for coloring and the Gina Marie Lace Square die on the finished image.  I used My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edge die to make the green background mat. After adding the colored image, I added the tag sentiment and an  enameled heart.

Whimsy Love

Today I wanted to bring you a little Whimsy Love with Sylvia Zet's, Spring Bringer.  I will always have a fondness for all of the Sylvia Zet's fairies as they are what brought me to Whimsy Stamps.

For this card, I stamped the image on Neenah 110# card stock. I used my Copic markers for coloring and then the Gina Marie Designs Frilly Lace Nesting Die on the completed image.  I covered the card base with a brown embossed pattern paper, then added a couple of bright circle patterned rectangles. To complete the card I added the sentiment 'You Are Loved'.

You Make the Rainy Days Brighter

I am writing this blog posting, yet another huge thunder storm system is about to arrive here.  I almost titled this blog Rain, Rain, Go Away!

However I wanted to share a cheerful rainy day card of encouragement with you today.

I used a very old rain background die, cut out of a blue/gray paper and a brighter blue background paper mounted to the card base. This cute little chick dancing in the rain is from Simon Says, Showers and Flowers set.   I used my Copic markers and fussy cut around the completed image.  I used a red crochet thread for the weaving and bow and added the sentiment from the same stamp set.

A Mom is Like a Flower

Good morning ladies!  I am hoping that you have already visited Jan's Digi's this month and picked up your Free Angel of Mercy package.  If not, head over soon as this offer is only good in the month of April. Remember to use the code ANGEL at checkout to zero out the balance.

While you are there, I'm sure you will browse around too.  Today I'm showcasing another new release for April, Pansies for Mom.  This package is also on sale for the month of April.

With two main images (and FIVE sentiments) I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use, so I ended up making two cards to show you today.

I used my Copic markers for coloring for both of these.  The first one is die cut using Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies and the second one My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edge die.  Both of these designs are sure to be a hit on a card of any kind.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I enjoy sharing my work with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not Just Scraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.
