How Are Things At Your Pad?

How can anyone resist smiling when you see this 

adorable frog from the 

Stamp Up Frolicking Frogs set?

For the background effects, I used my wooden handmade

distressing blocks to ink SU Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink, 

and Wild Wasabi.  The stamped image is colored with 

Copic markers except for the red sparkle gel penned tongue.

I picked this stamp set up from a new Facebook seller that you might like to check out ~ Stampin Up Stamps & Stuff.  Be sure

Word Art Wednesday ~ PANSIES & SYMPATHIES

For today's Word Art Wednesday card, I used my first

Graciellie Design Stamp, triple matted and
done in colored pencils on a black card stock base.

Sweet Sixteen Party Girl

Not only do our kids grow up fast,

but before we turn around good

our grand children are all grown up too.

This weekend my family is celebrating

Destiny's Sweet 16th Birthday!

For her card I selected the Julie Nutting

Party Girl card size stamp

and used lots of her favorite color...orange.

One extra thing that I always enjoy 

is making the envelope to go with my

handmade cards. 

For her, I wanted a gently reminder

how fragile life is a sixteen,

so I added a 

Grow in Grace

book marker to the top of the envelope.

Congratulations Baby ~ Shaker Card

Recently, I tried my hand at

a larger shaker card

for a special young lady's baby shower.

While in the end, I was pleased

with the results, I do think I 

will refresh with a youtube video

before trying another one.

My First Step Card

and maybe my last.....

Earlier this month we celebrated my Dad's 80th birthday!

You HAVE to have a special card

for that big number....

So with loving care, I created my first step card

to the man who means the world to me!

Clean out the clutter

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 354

This is a rarity  - you can see the wood on my 

work desk!

I'm proud to say this is due to two reasons.  

One I great gift from a friend ~ the 

roller organizer cart below

allowed me to move some of my most

used tools off to the side, yet roll them

back round beside me when I'm working.

and two, my family from Texas helped me 

this past weekend do a home makeover to

clean out clutter and give myself 

room to BREATHE!

Oh the Blessings I receive every day!

A Cool Ride ~ Blended Mountain Technique

After seeing a couple of cards on Pinterest with what appears to

be a blended mountain background technique, 

(none of which included instructions) I decided to try my

hand at incorporating a digital copy of a stamp I had received

along with an inked background card to see what I could 

come up with.  

This is the scanned image that I wanted to use~

I took a blank 5 x 8 index card and my distressing blocks

along with several Stampin Up ink pads and went to work on the background, aiming for the mountains of the west.

Then I carefully ran the index card through the printer, 

printing the wild horses onto the inked card.  

Being from South Carolina, this Cool Ride would be a 

DREAM for most of us, so I added the finishing touches with a bit 

of green twine and a metal plate that says 'DREAM'.
