Stop In For a Bite

Today I'd like to share a cute card I made for a Halloween Themed card swap.  I used Darice Stamps, Stop In for a Bite, (JDC179) .  [Note, This product may be discontinued.]

I stamped each image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I selected the Tayored Expressions Color Block Cutting Plate to make this into a multi-window design.  I used the scalloped dies to cut the images and a matching purple card stock for the border.  I mounted these on an orange card base.  I put this back in the Misti and stamped the sentiment with purple Versa Claire ink.  Next I added the google eyes to the bat and also an additional purple backing to give just a little extra edge at the top and bottom.

Today I'd like to share an image from Angie Blom Designs in a slimline card design.  This beautiful mermaid is from her Good For the Soul package.

For this card I sized her on the large side to fill the 3 x 8 in card front.  After printing on Neenah 110# card stock, I used my Copic markers for coloring.  When complete, I used the Gina Marie Design Scalloped Stitched Slimline die on the image to give it the water-like edge. I put the image in my Misti and added the stamped sentiment from Technique Junkies, Sky Touches the Sea.   I cut a light blue mat just slightly larger than the colored image.  For the card base I selected a coordinating pink card stock then added the mat and colored image. 

This was a great image for coloring and I'm sure it will be one that I will use many times.

I made today's card for a weekend End Of Summer challenge on my card swap group, Addicted to Card Making 2.0. I had just received this cute C. C. Design stamp from the  Roberto's Characters Collection - Summer Henry.  I think it was perfect and such a cute image. 

I stamped the image on an A2 sized card front and used Copic markers for coloring.  Then I returned the image to the Misti and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine ink.   I used Gina Marie Designs Labels 3 die for the image and the coordinating paper.  They are mounted on a white A2 card base.  Lastly I added the charm at the bottom, and now it's ready for entering the challenge.

You're So Sweet

Today I'm joining in with the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog to share with you a card from our Sponsor, Polkadoodles. 

For my Design Team card, I selected Sunshine Delight Little Friends - Winnie Sunshine.

To make this card, I sized the image to about 3" square and printed her on Neenah 110# card stock.  I used my Copic markers for coloring.  

I wanted to give her the appearance of laying on a hill so I used a stitched curve die on the colored image.   I put the bottom aside for a moment and pulled out my distressed oxides and a leaf stencil.  I used several shades of the oxide inks to make the multi colored leaves.  

I mounted an orange patterned paper on an A2 card base, then added the two pieces of the colored image, leaving a small separation to bring more color into the foreground. 

Once everything was securely glued, I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment 'You're so Sweet' at the bottom of the hill.

Marci Is Ready to Celebrate!

Today's card is showcasing La La Land's Dress Up Marci.

Here's my completed card, then a little bit about making her.

I stamped her on Neenah 110# card stock and colored the image with my Copic Markers. Then I returned the image to my Misti and stamped the Celebrate sentiment using VersaFine ink.   

Next,  I used the Simon Says Twisted Stitched Border die on the right side and trimmed the left side a little closer to the image.  I covered the A2 card base with a matching teal paper, then added the complete image.  

 Lastly, I added glossy accents to the pearls in her necklace and set it aside for several hours to be sure it was dry before mailing it.  Note: If you're using Copic markers, the glossy accent does tend to pull some of the colors 'across the lines'.  But this is minimal and in person not as noticeable.

Slimline ~ Enjoy the Simple Things

Today I'd like to share another Angie Blom Digital Design card that I made.  This one is from the set Better in Boots and as you can see I used the Slimline card design.

As with the last Angie Blom card I shared, I use her image that is laid out for printing.  While I love layering and designing my digital cards, these images that she provides are a great time saver when you are in a hurry. 

After printing on Neenah 110# card stock, I colored the flowers using my Copic markers.  I enjoy adding the light blue around the image to give it a soften look.  

I use the Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Slimline Die for the image, then matted it on a solid background paper.  I measured this part and then folded my card stock to allow about an inch extra at the bottom.  I took the next size up die cut and carefully lined up the bottom while allowing the top edge to be off the folded card.  This way when cut it doesn't cut the fold and you have the scalloped edge on the sides and bottom.  I could have shifted the image and allowed the die to cut all four sizes, then mount it on a larger card base.  This just gives it a slightly different look and helped reduce the size slightly to ensure it fits in the envelope. 

Lastly I secured the colored image and mat to the pretty die cut card base and it's ready to be sold or mailed.

For my entry, I used Pool Hair Days by Artist Crystal Minkler.

I did something a little different, as I used the image to go with a card challenge from another group. 

On Addicted to Card Making 2.0, we have an Envelope Challenge every month - our hostess sends out a set of embellishments to 15 ladies who have signed up. Each person must make a card using some or all of each piece. 

 First, I'll show you what I received from our gracious hostess. 

The polka dot paper was double sided, as is the blue graph paper.  The yellow is the card base and has a Z fold on the front. Do you see the 'odd' item in this photo?  Bottom left... yep, a square of toilet paper.  Our hostess has a good sense of humor doesn't she!  

For my creation I wanted to use Polka Dot Orchard's Pool Hair Day.

I started by duplicating the flip flops to make a banner and then  printed them and the girl in the pool.  I used my Copic markers to color both images. 

I decided to build my card with the Z fold towards me, kinda like a tent, and the larger items on the standing back piece.  

I cut the banner of flip flops to fit in the blue graphic paper and attached that to the front of the Z fold.   I cut the 'polka dotted paper' in half vertically and then flipped it over as the back colors matched my Copic coloring. I added those two strips on each end of the back panel.   I fussy cut the girl in the pool and positioned her between those two vertical pieces. 

I printed the sentiment from the PDO digital set and trimmed it to fit the tag that was included.  For the mystery piece of 'Toilet Tissue'  - I colored it orange to match her bathing suit then added it to the tab end of the tag, trimming the edges.  I added the button and twine on top of the tag and then placed it on the left side. 

I'm really happy with the way it turned out and that I was able to use all the parts!

 Today I'm here with Jan's Digital Stamp Shop to share the project card I made using Eggs-tra Ordinary Acts.  This set has one image and five sentiments and is especially nice for thank you notes for kindness and gratefulness.

Here's my card and a few details.

I sized the image to fit an A2 card base and added an additional layer with the sentiment ' Thank you!'.   I printed this on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  I matched a plaid paper and then used Memory Box's  Matinee Rectangle die for both the image and the paper.  Next, I secured the colored image to the background paper.  I tied a brown organza ribbon on the left side then attached them to the card base.  After they were secured, I added a 'pig' charm to the ribbon as the finishing touch.

God Knew My Heart Needed You

For my project card I have selected her Wedding Digi Stamp 6.  Here's my finished card and then a few things about making it.

For this card, I sized the image to fit an A2 size card base and colored her using my Copic markers.  I used the Gina Marie Nesting Labels #3 to cut the image and the two mats.  Using the dark mat close to the image, draws your eyes focus to the colored work.

Next I put the colored image in my Misty and stamped the sentiment at an angle.  I specifically wanted to use this sentiment for two reasons.  One it goes well with this image but also because it looks like it's been written by the bride. To me that's giving it that special touch, rather than worrying about it covering part of her gown. 

After assembling on the white A2 card base, I added three enamel dots, also from Gina Marie Designs, and a white organza double bow.
