I Miss Your Face!

 Guess what image is back today on my special card?  Probably my favorite flower for 2025 from Unity Stamps ~ this single partially opened large petal flower from Unity Stamps, 'Blow Your Mind' package.  While it doesn’t appear to be huge, believe me – you can’t stamp two of them on a 6” square! It's big, bold and beautiful! 

My close friend made the decision to move to assisted living last month and today's card is one I made for her.  You know if you’re a follower of my blog that she loved her flowers and loved to ‘try’ to teach me how to care for them.  Her flowers didn’t go with her to her new home so I guess I’ll have to fill her new shelves with Copic colored flowers and funny sentiments to brighten her day.  Although I’m happy to say she is having a blast, enjoying the food, games and of course a whole new world of friends... I do miss her.

For this card, I stamped the flower image with black Versa Fine Clair and heat embossed it.  I used Copic markers for coloring the flower in several shades of red.  I found a coordinating background paper that looks like paint brush strokes  with colors from yellows, oranges and reds and even a bit of aqua.  I also came across this mint green lacey cut oval doily in my stash and started building the card front by securing it in the center first.  Then I die cut on large leafy stem out of dark green and trimmed it into several pieced to fit around the bottom of the flower.  After adding a layer of foam to the embossed flower, I secured it to the card front, overlapping the doily, and secured the leaf stems around the bottom.   I also added a foam strip to the sentiment, then secured it across the image to complete the card front design.  Once I added it to the 6” card base it was ready to go to my friend's new home.
