As parents we always say time flies as we watch our children quickly grow up from infants who need us daily to adults who stand proudly on their own. It seems as grandparents the time flies even faster especially when you don't see the grandchild often. But you hold on to the memories harder and cherish each and every one of them.
Today my first grandson, Spencer, turns 18. Watching him being born from across the room is as clear today as it was so many years ago.
For his card today, I used Cuttlebug's Typeset Embossing folder over a 'roll off' paper from doing gelli prints. I love the wide variety of earth tones that were captured on this scrap of paper! After trimming to the card size, I brushed the tops with black Versa Fine Clair ink so the letters would show better and have depth. Then I secured the young man silhouette and the 'Happy Birthday' die set from Gina K Designs. Next, I added the die cut '18' from the Studded Numbers set from Gina Marie Designs. After added the black mat, I secured the top designed piece to the white card base to complete the card.
Happy Birthday Spencer!

A wonderful, masculine card for your grandson - I know what you mean about them growing faster than when your children did!! I was also present for my granddaughters birth, and she turned 15 the in May, and it's still a very vivid memory.
