My Friend

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a card swap.  I selected the single flower and the sentiment from Beccy's Place, Nasturtium set and made this sweet Friendship card for my swap partner.

The words the designer put in this package are heartwarming to say the least.  Combining this sentiment with a single flower made a lovely yet sentimental card any friend would love to receive.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what's on my desk.

Ornaments for 2024

Each year I carry on the tradition started by my Mother of making a special ornament for each of my kids.  Over the years this has grown to include all of the family members and a few special friends.  This year I made three different ornaments that I'd like to share with you.

The first one was inspired by my online friend Ester Ashburg's posting on October 7th.  This is my favorite and I made 40 of this design.

Front

Back

The base is a 3" wooden ornament shape, painted white with a black top.  The image is stamped using Versa Clair Nocturne and the star is a die cut that I secured in the sky.

The back sentiment is computer generated and selected to remember Carl's first Christmas Choir performance at the new church where we are now members.

After completing the front and back, I used Mod Podge to seal the stamped front, then added the white organza ribbon and bow to the topper.

The second ornament was made using the Sizzix Snowflurry die and soda cans.  There are three layers and they are secured together with the center brad.  Carl helped die cut these and we made 20  of them. These were inspired by the one I received last year from Lisa at Yours Truly Greetings.

The third ornament I only made 8 - for my grandchildren. They are made using the bottlebrush Christmas trees and a wooden bead.

Each were very different from the other but fun to make and even more fun to have on our tree.

The Reason for the Season

Merry Christmas 2024!

Today's card was made using the nativity brass stencil by Lynell Harlow, Dreamweaver , Wise Men.

This stencil was a gift from a special friend.

I used Distress Oxides Faded Jeans and Hickory Smoke for the sky, then Fossilized Amber for the star.  The camels were done using Distressed Oxide Walnut Stain and then Pumice Stone for the bottom third.

Once I removed the stencil, I used Copic markers E43 and E42 for the center sand dunes and shading under the Wise Men and Y15, Y19 for the top star.  After trimming close to the image, I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner.

The A2 card base is covered with a metallic fiber paper.  Then I added the blue matting and the image to the center of the card to complete this design.

Today I hope you and your family can enjoy a few quiet moments to focus on the reason for this season, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Tippy Toes

Today's card image is from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps and is called 'All Dressed Up for Christmas'.

How do you like that die shape the image is on?  If you look closely you will see it's the same die as the sentiments, just turned vertical.  So if the die is too big for the card base, what do you do?  Like the card size - it's entirely up to you!  In this case, I trimmed it where I needed to while still using the die shape.

Thank you for stopping by today to see this Christmas card.

See you tomorrow for the last Christmas card!

So I'm adding her in this posting also.

The third girl in this stamp set was posted on 12/15 @https://pamspearls4u.blogspot.com/2024/12/get-your-merry-on.html

Happy 2025

Today I'm posting with the All Dressed Up Digital Stamp Design Team as we share this month's new images.  There are three new images available now ~ Penguin Fun, Star of 2025, and Happy 2025.

For my project card I have used 'Happy 2025'.

I started with a digital background named 'New Year Fireworks Party' from Creative Fabrica.  Using Photoshop Elements, I then layered the 'Happy 2025' image over the background.  Then I was able to lighten the opacity of the background under the image to be able to color her.

After printing I colored the image using Copic markers which are listed below for your reference.  I used the Spellbinder Fluted Classic Oval die for the embossed and cut edge.  After securing the blue patterned paper to the card base, I added the colored image to the center.  I used an orange metallic cardstock to die cut the 'Happy New Year', then secured the words along the top curve.  Lastly I added Crystal Sticklers to the headband for a little additional sparkle.

It's hard to believe 2025 is about to be here! Wishing you an early 'Happy New Year' full of crafting!

Richly Blessed

I'm continuing to share 2024 Christmas cards from various manufacturers as we work our way to the big day!

Today's card image is from Penny Black and called Pleasant Perch.

This is another very large stamp which is one reason I enjoy Penny Black images.  It's okay to tilt your die cut image when mounting on the card base.  As you can see it allows the image to appear to be floating or in motion.

Thank you for stopping by today to see this Christmas card.

Get Your Merry On!

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps as we open the new December challenge.  I selected '3 Little Christmas Girls'.  This great package by Wendy Burns has the images of the three girls together and then has them separated also.

This is actually Girl 03 image.

She was lots of fun to color in Copic shades of red.  After die cutting the image and sentiment I outlined both with the R46 Copic.

The card base is 6" square covered in festive Christmas paper with two additional horizontal strips of patterned paper.  Then I secured the image and the sentiment to the base as shown.  Lastly I added the paper poinsettia and leaves to complete the card design.
