Treasure Each Other

I seem to blog a lot about friendship and God's blessings of the special people in my life.  I don't ever want to take those relationships for granted.  My friendship circle is a true treasure and I thank God daily for YOU.
Thursday night is SCRAP night on Christian Card Maker.  My card was made using a sentiment from a daily calendar and features the Whimsy stamp Dolly designed by Sylvia Zet.

May this bring a smile to you tonight as you think about your special friends.  Don't forget to tell them how important they are to you....don't wait.

The Beauty of a Sunset

Today blog is showcasing the Unity Stamp Sunset Promise, one that is quickly becoming my top choice.  Loving the beach and living at the lake - the time I spend by the water is such a solitude and closeness with My God and with nature.

These cards are done using the Unity sentiment first and then I enlarged a stamped image to use for the Word Art Wednesday scripture this week from Psalm 90:12.

Both cards are printed on Neenah Bright white card stock and Copic colored.  The Unity card has a white pearled starfish accent piece added.  This will make a perfect Sympathy or Encouragement card.

The second card with the Word Art Wednesday scripture reminds us our days are numbered and our focus on God must remain strong each day as we seek His will for our lives.
An additional sparkle to the water was added in this card, using some glitter nail polish.

Thank you for stopping by today - May your day be blessed and may you enjoy a SUNSET ... maybe even by the water.

Number Our Days

Today's featured card is a combination of Word Art Wednesday's
scripture verse from Psalm 90:12 and
Whimsy Stamp from the Crissy Armstrong Collection

My stamped image was copic colored and then each piece was die cut using Gina Marie's Pleated Rectangles.  I then chose an Easel Card base since each of the pieces turned out large.  The tent fold on the Easel is tucked under the pleated edge of the bottom die when standing.  A threaded loopy bow is holding a dragon charm that are available at Lori's Lovely Paper Crafts.

I'd also like to share the scripture from Word Art Wednesday and hope that you too will make a card and submit your entry for some great prizes on their blog site.
Thank you for stopping by today ~ May your day be blessed!

Filled with Blessings

Today's card features Whimsy Crissy Armstrong Collection "Noah's Ark".

I wanted to make this card generic, so it could be used for anything from  baby boy's birth to a card of encouragement and reminder of how much God loves each of us.

In addition to the Whimsy Noah's Ark stamp, I used copic markers, and Darice Book Page Dies for the image and sentiment.  Blue and green sequins and a loopy bow were added as finishing touches to the striped background and red border strip.

Thank you for stopping my blog ~ I hope your day will be blessed!

I am the Resurrection and the Life

Today's card was inspired by a Pinterest posting using the Darice embossed cross folder.  This simple, yet elegant design, speaks to each of us in a powerful way during this season approaching Easter Sunday.

Many churches erect a wooden cross in the church yard this time of year with the deep purple drape.  As you drive by, take a moment to give thanks that HE IS RISEN!

For we are told in John 11:25-26,

"I am the resurrection and the life,
He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes
 in me will never die."

May your day be filled with blessings!

Taking A Glance ~ Envelope Challenge

This months 'Envelope Challenge' on Addicted to Card Making was hosted by Jennie.  It continues to be my favorite challenge as 15 ladies receive the same supplies to make a card and the results are so amazingly different and unique.
For my card I added the Unity QUINN girl stamped and copic colored and I lightly inked the butterfly with Tim Holtz Distress ink, Salty Ocean.
All other supplies were what was included in the envelope.

Jennie provide us with a great stamped sentiment that could be used for many different cards.  Inside my card I added the scripture from Isaiah 43:18,
"Remember not the former things, not consider the things of old"...
Another great project envelope ~ Thanks Jennie!

Thank you for stopping by and please come back to visit often.

You Need Only to BE STILL

Today's card is focused on the scripture Exodus 14:14,
The Lord will FIGHT for you, you need only to Be Still.

I combined this scripture with the Christian Card Maker Sketch Challenge design for this simple, calming card. With such a powerful message, I didn't want to add too much to take away from the focus of the scripture.
I think this will make a great card for someone facing a long recovery from an illness or similar life battle. It has actually been quite comforting to me making the card and meditating on this as my Dad will be going through a medical procedure today. God always puts His word there for us, right on time!

The CCM Sketch provide for the challenge:
and a digital scripture image for your future use.

May your day be blessed and may you find time to BE STILL and allow God to be God.

Seek The Lord and His Strength

Today's card is a combination of the scripture provided by Karen  at Word Art Wednesday and the artwork design by Ginny at Maxam Made Studio.
My card was also done as part of the Friday Fellowship on Christian Card Maker ~ Womens' Fellowship Facebook Group.

What a wonderful verse 1 Chronicles 16:11 is to meditate on today, our day of rest.

After lightly Copic coloring, I used the Gina Marie Fancy Vine Frame to cut the image design and the background blue matting frame and two 5mm gun metal flat backs were added to for the final touch.

Sharing the freebies from Karen and Ginny so that you too can create your card to send an encouraging message to someone in need.

May your day be blessed as you Seek the Lord in all that you do.

Wherever You Go

Today's card is my recent submission to Sassy Stampers Anything Goes challenge.

For my card I used Unity's Willow Girl with an alternate sentiment.  Image was copic colored then mounted on an orange swiss dotted rectangle and added to the craft card base.  And additional 1/2" strip was added to give grounding to the charmed butterfly.

Happy Scraps!

Slipping in a late post tonight for Left Over Scrap night cards on
Christian Card Maker.  A great opportunity to grab up the bits and pieces and see what you can come up with.
Tonight an additional challenge was added to use a NEW stamp to entitle you to be added in for a drawing for a free set of six little Christian symbol stamps.  Can't wait to see what the ladies are creating.
My card is a Happy Sparkly Birthday card
for my sweet Friend who will be turning 72 next week.

Using my new stamp, received today, Whimsy Celebrate Big, I colored my image with copic markers.  Then used Gina Marie's Wonky Stitches Four Layers Dies for the image border and two additional scrap pieces.  I added several dimensional balloons, and a wooden Happy that was distressed with Tim Holtz Shaded Lilac.   Since the yellow glitter paper wasn't holding well with tape or glue, I added additional brads to ensure the pieces would remain in their positions when mounted on the hot pink card base.

I hope you will be inspired to use your scraps
to make a card or too and brighten someone's day.

Simple Pleasures of Sharing

This morning I'm finishing up my package for the monthly challenge
to send five cards for Chemo patients.
Today's featured card is a digital image from Maxam Made Studio's March 7, 2017 blog.
The soft image can be used so many different ways,
I thought it would be perfect for this project.

Additional products used include the Lotus Blossom Lace Rectangle by Gina Marie Designs,  Copic Markers Y8, Y13, Y18, YG23 & G43, brown twine and a craft card base.

This posting will also appear on Christian Card Maker, Artsy Cards, Karle's Passion, and my personal selling site Not Just Scraps.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will be blessed by a simple pleasure of sharing your work with others.

Christian Card Maker's Friday Fellowship

Each Friday on Christian Card Maker, we are given a suggested scripture or sentiment to use for cards for the weekend either for our Heart Lines Ministry work, our monthly challenges or to send  to others who need prayer or note of encouragement.

I had just received Heartfelt's new Dogwood Chapel Stamp set which matched up perfectly with the words for this week.  Using the Gina Marie Fishtail Dies, this simple and clean card conveys a very deep meaning to all who see it and
especially to the Chemo patient who will be receiving it.

 Compliments of Maxam Made Studio.

He Shall Cover Thee with His Feathers

It seems the 'feather', whether from a small bird, a soaring eagle, a strutting peacock or some other bird, has become a very popular symbol in the world of card making.  It's versatility certainly tends to give us crafters a wide variety of uses
and our Bible scriptures can add even more options.

This card was made for Christian Ministry so I started with my scripture stamp from Psalm 91:4.  I knew I had the right one when I pulled this peacock feather with the heart in the center!
God does cover us with His feathers and under His wings.
When God is in our heart,  He is the center of our life.
How comforting to know and trust Him every day.

Sketch Recycled Card

With Monday's being a Sketch Challenge card day on Christian Card Maker, I decided to recycle a calendar image for my entry.
This is from Lang Calendar Company, which really gives the image a rich texture look. As with most calendar images though, the challenge is they are usually large ~ too large for a regular card base.  For this card, I was able to keep the base width 4" so the completed card will fit into a legal envelope.

and the sketch design provided

I hope you will be blessed by this simple design and the important reminder to always
"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good".

Welcome Dobby!

Our weekend challenge on Addicted to Card Making
is a giraffe card with the much broadcast
and February 28th birth of the baby giraffe, Dobby, at the Denver Zoo.

I think each of us has a favorite animal stamp to 'collect' in our stash...the giraffe happens to be mine, so I really enjoyed making this card.   I'm not even really sure why I love the giraffe so, they have just always been very unique to me and beautiful in their own way.
What's your favorite animal?

Welcome to the Family, Baby Dobby!  We are so glad you are finally here!

Supplies used: Welcome die is by Die'sire; baby giraffe is a miscellaneous unknown manufacture and the larger giraffe is by Phyllis Harris.

Seek Ye the Lord

Today on Christian Card Maker we were blessed with a digitized scripture and a floral wreath designed by Stephanie Wampler Wright (Steph's Scrap Happenings)
for Friday Word Fellowship.

I'm making several in various sizes, with this being the largest one, 6 x 6.
I loved copic coloring all the variety of flowers, then mounted this one on a paper doily.  Sky blue flat backs were added around the edge to add a bit of elegance without taking away from Stephanie's design.

Please visit Stephanie's blog site and thank her for the freebie also:

Finding the Rainbow

Does a Sympathy Card have to be sad?

While we are all sad for the loss and we want to express our understanding, caring and compassion to our friends, I think that we can do that respectfully through our cards,
without being dreary.

Today's card is being mailed this morning to one of my online friends who's father in law passed away yesterday after a long illness.   My message to those who 'loved their Gramps'... May you will always treasure his memories ~ and as you celebrate his life and your sadness begins to heal, ...remember 'your Gramps' endured the rain,
and today He is enjoying the
 RAINBOW.

He's Watching Over You

Today's card is an additional card that I did using the Word Art Wednesday
scripture from Ecclesiastes 3:1.
If you follow the scripture postings from their site like I do, printing them in various sizes, then die cutting them into your sentiment stash box is perfect for putting together cards when you need them quickly.  Thank you ladies from WAW for this continued blessings of God's word!

The big eyes of this little fellow reminded me of how God watches over us, the warm hat of how he keeps us warm and close during the storms of life and the multitude of feathers of how he surrounds us with his blessings.

This card of encouragement was sent to a couple, going through a long season of events that just don't seem to make sense and with each week seem to spiral downward.  Yet as I watch these two strong Christians, though sometimes frustrated, I continue to see them pull each other up and return their focus to the Lord for his strength and his guidance.  What a powerful witness they are to many around them.
My prayer for you today is to remember when things just aren't lining up the way you had planned, they just don't make sense,
God has the perfect plan and a purpose for everything.

Be an Encourager

If you had to say this morning ....
Who is my encourager?  Who is always there for me, telling me it's going to be okay,
lifting my spirits, praying for me....Who would that be?

I can honestly say, my life continues to be blessed with a very strong circle of encouraging friends and family.  I am grateful and humbled in so many ways when different friends seem to pop in and pick me up, set me back on the right road after a little set back or a bad day,
or just love me for who I am... a child of God.

Today's card was done as a Sketch Challenge for Heart Lines Ministry on Christian Card Makers, a card ministry to send cards of encouragement.

Are YOU an Encourager?
Do you fit the role of being there for others?
Listen to your heart today and find a few kind words of care and encouragement to share with someone.   So many in today's world need to know they are God's children and they are important.
