Focus on What Matters

So many things in our lives happen without warning, rhyme or reason.  Sometimes we are able to look back later and understand why and other times, we never can make sense of any part of the event.

Being thrown in the middle of a murder of a family member is definitely an event we didn't see coming.  So many twists and turns since that day, all which continue to confuse us more. However one of the best parts has been building a trusting relationship and friendship with another member left behind.

For this new relationship we are grateful.  We don't know if it's for a month, a year, or for our lifetime.  But we know we've been put together for a reason and a purpose.

My husband has waded through so many pieces of paper, emails, forms, bills ,etc., as he is working through the estate. As you know it's tiring and confusing.  It all seems small though when he gets a text for help or advice from this young man.   We are always reminded to 'Focus on What Matters'.  Life is very short.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.

Christmas Sparkles

Another double posting day ~ as I'm back this afternoon with another round of sharing this month's new images from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps.  I've selected Christmas Sparkles and made this cute little gingerbread man  bordered card for my Christmas 2025 stash.

This new image by Wendy Burns was released along with  Puppy Post and Pumpkin Hat for this month.  Christmas Sprinkles was my favorite!

After sizing her for an A2 card, I printed her and then colored her using Copic markers.  I used the Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die for both the edge of the completed image and the edge of the green polka dotted matting too.  I used a top fold A2 card base and secured the mat, then tilted the design image to the left corner and secured it.  I added four small enameled gingerbread men to each corner for the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you'll check out the other Design team projects on the blog and enter your ADU cards too.

He Will Rejoice Over Thee

Today we open the Word Art Wednesday Week #722-723 Challenge with Stamp Simply as our sponsor.  I have selected their Falling Leaves Border Strip as a top border (although it could also be placed vertically) to go with our selected scripture from Zephaniah 3:17.

I think this is a beautiful scripture especially for the fall time of the year.  I sized the scripture to fit evenly across the border of leaves then printed and used Copic markers for the coloring.  Then I lightly brushed a little bit of light red chalk over the colored leaves to soften the background around the leaves.

The background is a gelli print with lots of orange and yellow.  In the center of the piece, I used the smaller leaf dies from the Globleland Autumn Broken Leaves set and used several of the orange leaf patterns to add to the corners.  Each layer was secured as shown on the olive green card base and the leaves were layered at the bottom corners for a little dimension and complete the card design.

Be sure to check out the other Design Team project cards at the Word Art Wednesday challenge and add yours in too for a chance at the $25 gift prize from Stamp Simply.

Full of Christmas Joy

I'm back this afternoon with another Design Team card to share.  This time I'm posting with the All Dressed Up Digital Stamp Team and we're opening the October challenge today!

For my Design Team card I've selected ADU's Mistletoe Mice and made this Christmas card for my 2025 stash!

I printed these cuties on Neenah 110# cardstock and used Copic markers for the coloring.  I stamped  the extra snowflakes around the completed image to give it a wintery feel and add a little background color.

I used the Whimsy Stamp Co, Notched Stitched Square dies for the completed image and the coordinating additional layers.  After securing those to the 6" top fold card base, I added a tiny blue flat back gem to the center of each snowflake.

The sentiment was taken from Picket Fence, A Christmas Hello, and was stamped, matted and die cut using Momenta Nesting Rectangle dies.  Once secured together the tag was added to the top center of the card and a tiny heart added as brad.

Thank you for stopping by this afternoon to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you head on over to the All Dressed Up Digital Stamp Challenge Blog to see what the other girls came up with and to add your ADU image cards to the challenge.

Count Your Rainbows

Good morning!  Today I'm posting twice, with two different design teams... so look for me again this afternoon!

This morning we are opening the October/November Classic Design Challenge with Rachelle Ann Miller as our sponsor.  Our theme is always Anything Goes and our twist this month will be Trees and/or Leaves.

For my Design Team card I selected Rainy Day Friends by Rachelle Anne Miller and used this sweet girlfriend image to make a card of encouragement.

I'm also particularly proud of this card as it is the first card I've made using a Gelli print background that I made.

I started by printing the Rainy Day Friends image and then colored the cute little girls with my Copic markers.  I fussy cut them and added a foam layer to the back.  After digging through my stash looking for a leaf embellishment or a die cut large enough to be a background behind the girls, I came across this reddish brown laser cut doily embellishment from an old Creative Memories package.   The color matched the girl's dark hair perfectly and they fit well lifted above in the center.

Next I came across this print I'd recently made when I was learning how to use my Gelli plate. (You know... the one that has been in the drawer for at least three years, cause I'm afraid of it!)  The inks in this one also coordinated well with the other elements of the card.  This print was a first pull and was on recycled paper so it was very thin.  I carefully trimmed it down to just under 5" square and secured to the rusty brown card base.  Then I added the medallion to the center and then the colored image.  Lastly I added the computer generated sentiment and the water dot elements to complete the design.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you will visit the Classic Design Challenge next to see what the other Design Team members have made and to enter your handmade cards too.

Tell Cancer

Today I'm sharing the freebie from Moondrea Designs, named Flower Witch.

She's perfect for a Halloween card and was fun to color.

I miss the great sentiments from Cas-ual Fridays and this one is probably my all time favorite from them.  From the set Supercalifragilistic, we can easily turn the Halloween witch into a great card for a cancer patient.  This one is in the mail already!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  Be sure to check out all the great designs on Moondrea Designs.  Thank you Andreia for this great free image!

Great Gain

Happy Wednesday and welcome again to Word Art Wednesday, Challenge Week # 720-721.  Our WAW Sponsor for this challenge is Concord and 9th, and our featured scripture is from 1 Timothy 6:6.  I've selected Vintage Flower to make this greeting card that is focused on the sentiment and can be used for any occasion.

For this design, I began by stamping the flower in the top left corner of a full sheet of Neenah paper then used that paper in the printer to add the free scripture from the WAW site.

I used Copic markers for coloring and the Gina Marie Label Six Rectangle set for the edge of the image as well as the deep purple matting.  Next I secured both to the purple marble print and then the set to white card base.  Lastly I added three tiny purple pearls randomly around the flower to complete my design.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you will visit the Word Art Wednesday Blog site so that you can not only see the other Design Team card but you can also download your copy of the featured scripture.
