Tea for Two

One of the special consignment requests that I had back in 2023 was to make a keepsake birthday card for each month's birth date for Baby Olivia's first year of life.  Her grandmother was so thoughtful to think ahead and know this would be a wonderful treat to look back on when Olivia was older.   Olivia's great grandmother made the dresses for each occasion and the photo sessions were done by the grandmother. I think I enjoyed this as much as the family did!

Time flies and Olivia is turning TWO today (9/27/25)!!!  Her party happened a few days ago - a tea party of course - and I had the honor and privilege of making her keepsake card.

Thanks to my friend Heather from the Netherlands, I had two adorable Lili of the Valley images to work with for this event.  It was entirely too hard to choose which completed card to show Olivia's grandmother as I loved both of them!  It was no surprise that she did too!

Here's the completed cards ~

Turning 2 ~ Time for Tea

Both images were colored with Copic markers and have lots of layers, flowers, and ribbons to make them frilly and girly for this sweet little lady.

Here's her birthday photo from the park ~ isn't she the cutest!

The Lord Be With You

Today I am posting with the Word Art Wednesday Design Team as we open the challenge for Week #718-719. Our sponsor for this challenge is Divinity Designs and our featured scripture is  2 Thessalonians 3:16.

For my Design Team card I have selected Divinity Designs 'Sea' image.

I stamped the image and used Copic markers for coloring. After sizing the scripture to fit the image, I printed it on white cardstock and matted in black.  I used Stampin' Up Fabulous Frames for the Rose matting and selected a burgundy card base.  Then I secured the layers and sentiment as shown.  Lastly I added the light pink organza ribbon at the top fold and knotted for the final step to complete the card design.

Don't forget that you can get this scripture free at the Word Art Wednesday blog to use on your cards.  I hope you'll visit there to see the other design team cards and enter your cards for a chance at winning the sponsors gift certificate.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.

Hello Little Birdie

Today we share another round of the new September 2025 All Dressed Up Digital images both on the ADU blog and throughout each of the blog team members blogs as well.

For my project card I was given 'Tip Toe' this cute fall fairy chatting with the bird on the mushroom.

After printing the image, I used my Copic markers for coloring and then used 'Carnation Crafts, Pretty Shabby Square Die set for the image and dark brown matting edge.

For the card base background I selected a printed paper that resembled a mixed media piece  - with flowers in the corner, coordinating purple dots and vintage script.  I used the same dies set for this piece also.   Then I secured each piece to the 5 3/4" square card base as shown.  Lastly I added the teal gauze bow and Hello embellishment on the left side of the image with a piece of Baby's breath behind it to complete the card design.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you'll join us on the All Dressed Up Coloring Challenge with your ADU card and see the other Design Team member's cards also.

She Sells Seashells

I'm back this afternoon posting with the design team from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps as we open the new challenge for the month.  Since it's Beach Time here in the USA, I selected  ADU's Seashells image for my Design Team card.

I really enjoyed coloring this sweet little girl as I miss the trips I use to make to the shore each month.  Looks like she has quite a find in her shell hunt!

I colored her with Copic markers and die cut with Penny Black Elegant Stitching Rectangle Die set.  The start of the nursery rhyme was computer generated, matted and raised with foam at the bottom of the card after everything was secured.  Lastly I added the deep teal organza ribbon at the top fold with the starfish charm tied in the knot.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  Hope you'll visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and enter your ADU image cards for a chance to win!

Dahlia Maiden

Today I'll be posting twice with different design teams, so watch for me to be back later this afternoon.  But this morning I'm here with the Design Team from the Classic Design Challenge blog as we open the September/October blog challenge.  As always our challenges are anything goes with an optional twist.  For this month the optional twist is add a tree(s) or leaves.

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Moondrea Designs.  If you haven't check our their images you need too as they are so pretty!

For my Design Team card, I selected their image, 'Dahlia Maiden' and made this card adding three leaves on the right edge.

I sized the image for a 5 x 7 card so that I would have room to color the beautiful folds in the gown and many locks of her hair.  I used Copic markers for the coloring and they are referenced below.  I cut a gray liner mat and then the wider  mat behind her is a very unique paper  - as it was from a National Geographic and was processed using Citrosolve to get the patterned design.

Both pieces were die cut using the My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle Stax Die set.   I secured the image and liner mat first then centered and secured the patterned mat to the kraft card base.  After arranging the three leaves on the side and lightly glueing, I added the image over the edge of the leaves and secured to the card base.  Then I secured the final three paper flowers over the edge of the image and leaves to complete the design.

I hope you will visit the Classic Design Challenge to see the other Design Team cards and to enter your cards for a chance to win!  Thanks for stopping by here to see what I've been coloring.

Disco Birthday!

Several months ago a friend in one of my groups posted how excited she was with the full size 'Disco Ball' she'd found on Clearance at Hobby Lobby along with a glass tiled initial 'J' for her craft room.  Little did she realize she was planting the seed for her birthday card in September!

Hopefully it stayed in one piece through the mail to her!

I also found the disco ball at Hobby Lobby, but this one was from Paper Studio and made for cards.  It was still 3" in circumference which was quite large.  I stamped the images from the Dina Wakley, Essential Silhouettes, Copic colored all the white spaces and then fussy cut them.

I used a metallic blue glossy 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" background cardstock with the edges rounded.  I added a couple of rows of mini glass tiles (Dollar Tree) for the dance floor.  The 'Dance' and 'DISCO' words were copied from the internet and printed.

I started at the bottom, secured the dancing couple onto the tile floor and tucking the 'dance' words behind them.  Then I added the large Disco ball spacing it between them and the top of the cardstock.   After adding foam to the Disco word I secured it across the metal rod at the top of the disco ball.

I searched and found a small Happy Birthday die and cut it and the hearts out of metallic paper also.  I added the sentiment to the center of the ball and the metallic stars randomly around the card front.  Lastly I die cut the pink circles and added in the spaces, adding a little bit of Diamond Stickles to each one to increase the sparkles.

Hope she gets a good laugh out of it on her special day!

Happy Birthday Jackie!

My First Gran ~

As parents we always say time flies as we watch our children quickly grow up from infants who need us daily to adults who stand proudly on their own.  It seems as grandparents the time flies even faster especially when you don't see the grandchild often.  But you hold on to the memories harder and cherish each and every one of them.

Today my first grandson, Spencer, turns 18.  Watching him being born from across the room is as clear today as it was so many years ago.

For his card today, I used Cuttlebug's Typeset Embossing folder over a 'roll off' paper from doing gelli prints.  I love the wide variety of earth tones that were captured on this scrap of paper!  After trimming to the card size, I brushed the tops with black Versa Fine Clair ink so the letters would show better and have depth.  Then I secured the young man silhouette and the 'Happy Birthday' die set from Gina K Designs.  Next, I added the die cut '18' from the Studded Numbers set from Gina Marie Designs.  After added the black mat, I secured the top designed piece to the white card base to complete the card.

Happy Birthday Spencer!

I Will Meditate

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Challenge Week #716-717 of Word Art Wednesday.  I'm posting with the Design Team today and we are featuring the scripture from Psalm 77:12.  Our sponsor for this challenge was scheduled to be My Favorite Things but due to their business closure, Trinity Stamps has graciously stepped in to offer the prize this month of a $25 gift card!

For my Design Team Stamp I selected 'Peaceful Birds' by My Favorite Things.  I used Copic markers  for the coloring and die cut with the coordinating dies.  For the background, I selected one of the sprayed prints I had recently done using a stencil and Distress Oxide sprays.

I trimmed the sprayed background and added the die cut pieces using foam where needed to build it up for depth.  Then I added the turquoise mat and attached to the coordinating rust colored card base.  I used a strip of the background as a mat for the printed scripture sentiment and added it to the bottom of the card with foam under it also.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you'll go to Word Art Wednesday to see the other Design Team cards, to get the free scripture for your cards, and to add your card in for a chance at the sponsor's prize!
