Praise Him in the Storm

The Starfish has always been my favorite sea creature with the Sand Dollar running a close second.  Finding either of these treasures on the beach is always amazing and beautiful.  I was taught at an early age to gently pick them up and return them to the sea in hopes that they could still survive even if it appeared they had been washed ashore for a while.

When I came across Unity Stamps, Tranquil Tides stamp on the swap site last month I was thrilled to be able to purchase it for my own.  I very unique image with flowers instead of other sea life, it's gracefulness still touched my memories of many walks on the beaches of South Carolina.

Being such a unique image, I decided to continue my metallic painting on black watercolor paper with this image.  I'm sharing the results today with you.

I stamped and heat embossed the image using white pigment ink on the black watercolor paper.  I used metallic watercolor paints throughout the image and then fussy cut around the edge leaving 1/4" border to maintain the black contrasting background.

The 5" x 7" card base is  black cardstock  and I selected the brown speckled pattern to resemble the sand, tearing the top edge and inking with brown ink.  The water patterned paper is secured at the top then the sand paper is overlapped and secured at the bottom.  After adding the completed image in the center of the sand area, I stamped the 'Praise Him In The Storm' sentiment under the starfish image to complete the design.

The more light that shines on the metallic image the brighter and reflective it is.  What a great analogy of God's light in us as the more we are filled with his Spirit the brighter our light shines for Him.

I would also like to give layout credit to Unity Designer Julissa Sargo who inspired me with her card.
