Tea for Two
One of the special consignment requests that I had back in 2023 was to make a keepsake birthday card for each month's birth date for Baby Olivia's first year of life. Her grandmother was so thoughtful to think ahead and know this would be a wonderful treat to look back on when Olivia was older. Olivia's great grandmother made the dresses for each occasion and the photo sessions were done by the grandmother. I think I enjoyed this as much as the family did!
Time flies and Olivia is turning TWO today (9/27/25)!!! Her party happened a few days ago - a tea party of course - and I had the honor and privilege of making her keepsake card.
Thanks to my friend Heather from the Netherlands, I had two adorable Lili of the Valley images to work with for this event. It was entirely too hard to choose which completed card to show Olivia's grandmother as I loved both of them! It was no surprise that she did too!
Here's the completed cards ~
You're the Cherry on Top of Our Lives
Both images were colored with Copic markers and have lots of layers, flowers, and ribbons to make them frilly and girly for this sweet little lady.
Here's her birthday photo from the park ~ isn't she the cutest!

But this morning I'm here with the Design Team from the Classic Design Challenge blog as we open the September/October blog challenge. As always our challenges are anything goes with an optional twist. For this month the optional twist is add a tree(s) or leaves.
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Moondrea Designs. If you haven't check our their images you need too as they are so pretty!
For my Design Team card, I selected their image, 'Dahlia Maiden' and made this card adding three leaves on the right edge.

Disco Birthday!
Several months ago a friend in one of my groups posted how excited she was with the full size 'Disco Ball' she'd found on Clearance at Hobby Lobby along with a glass tiled initial 'J' for her craft room. Little did she realize she was planting the seed for her birthday card in September!
Hopefully it stayed in one piece through the mail to her!
I used a metallic blue glossy 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" background cardstock with the edges rounded. I added a couple of rows of mini glass tiles (Dollar Tree) for the dance floor. The 'Dance' and 'DISCO' words were copied from the internet and printed.
I started at the bottom, secured the dancing couple onto the tile floor and tucking the 'dance' words behind them. Then I added the large Disco ball spacing it between them and the top of the cardstock. After adding foam to the Disco word I secured it across the metal rod at the top of the disco ball.
I searched and found a small Happy Birthday die and cut it and the hearts out of metallic paper also. I added the sentiment to the center of the ball and the metallic stars randomly around the card front. Lastly I die cut the pink circles and added in the spaces, adding a little bit of Diamond Stickles to each one to increase the sparkles.
Hope she gets a good laugh out of it on her special day!
Happy Birthday Jackie!

My First Gran ~
As parents we always say time flies as we watch our children quickly grow up from infants who need us daily to adults who stand proudly on their own. It seems as grandparents the time flies even faster especially when you don't see the grandchild often. But you hold on to the memories harder and cherish each and every one of them.
Today my first grandson, Spencer, turns 18. Watching him being born from across the room is as clear today as it was so many years ago.
For his card today, I used Cuttlebug's Typeset Embossing folder over a 'roll off' paper from doing gelli prints. I love the wide variety of earth tones that were captured on this scrap of paper! After trimming to the card size, I brushed the tops with black Versa Fine Clair ink so the letters would show better and have depth. Then I secured the young man silhouette and the 'Happy Birthday' die set from Gina K Designs. Next, I added the die cut '18' from the Studded Numbers set from Gina Marie Designs. After added the black mat, I secured the top designed piece to the white card base to complete the card.
Happy Birthday Spencer!

No Horsing Around ~
Being a card maker is totally enjoyable when you can bring a memory back to the present through your card design. The card today that I'm sharing is just that ~ one of my all time favorites because it will remind my daughter of the special time in her childhood when she owned her horse, Sally.
Hard to believe my 'baby girl' turned 41 this past week, yet the things we have been through together are priceless. Thanks to Angie Blom Designs, I was able to use her 'A Beautiful Ride' digital design to make this special birthday card.
I sized the image to about 4" square, printed, and colored her with my Copic markers. Then I carefully fussy cut around the image and set it aside. I selected a background of variegated tree splattered paper from Stampin' Up and added it to a coordinating burgundy mat and then a black mat. The banner sentiment was computer generated and secured to the coordinating strip of lime green cardstock. I secured it on the ends and bottom to the background, leaving the top edge 'open' to add the horse and rider. Next I added a layer of foam to the back of the colored image, leaving the bottom 3/4" edge without foam to allow it to slide under the sentiment banner. Once it was aligned properly, I was able to secure the horse and girl to the background with the bottom edge secured under the banner. I added this completed sandwich of papers to the 6" square top fold card base, ensuring it was well secured. For the final touch I added the coordinating lime
green organza ribbon and bow at the top fold.
Yep, she loved it!
Thank you for stopping by today to see what I've been coloring.

Milestones
Today we are celebrating a friendship made over the last 4 years at our Physical Therapy office. One of the Therapist is moving his family to a new location and today is his final day here. Although it's sad to see this young man go, it's exciting to know that he is taking the next step in the path that God has planned for him and his family. He's stepping out in faith and with courage.
Not knowing his hobbies, I decided to make a mixed media type card of encouragement as we give him our best wishes.
I used two stamps for the background on this card: the 'Clock' on the left is by Katzelkraft and the 'Rulers & Lights' on the right by Studio Lights. Next I embossed this with 'Many Clocks' embossing folder by Darice. The rulers are highlighted with Phano markers and the clock edges with Ranger Foundry Wax. I added washi tape down the left side from AALL and across the bottom from Tim Holtz. The 'Young Man' silhouette was die cut out of black cardstock and heat embossed with black embossing powder. The sentiment was taken from the Memories set by Club Scrap, 12/08 ~ heat embossed with black, matted and raised with a layer of foam prior to securing on the background. The yellow mixed media stamp was gifted from a Stamp Camp friend and added for that little tie in of color. Lastly, I added the brown twine at the fold with the coordinating key.
Inside held our special thoughts and well wishes for Lucas as he and his family move forward to new adventures.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.
