Birthday Sunshine

Today I'm giving a big shout out to my friend Lisa Jones on her special birthday and sharing the card that I made for her.

Knowing that Lisa's favorite colors are yellow and orange really helped with my decisions throughout this card as I kept getting pulled more to the aquas and purples.

I had decided I wanted to use the Floral Seahorse from Technique Junkies and to emboss with white, then Copic color the image.  Little did I realize how hard that was going to be to see the lines and tiny spaces on this very detailed image.

But here's the finished card and just a few details following ~

This is a very unique image with flowers wrapped around a seahorse.  But it's one that I'm personally drawn to and adore.  I purchased it while at my first Stamp Camp in 2023 (where I met Lisa) and now it reminds me of the friendships that have crossed paths over the last two years.  How beautiful some of those have become!

After embossing the image with white,  I colored her with Copic markers and carefully fussy cut as close to the image as I could.  For the under the water elements and the gold netting I used dies from several different sets and also used metallic papers.  I stamped the sentiment on a coordinating piece from my stash and added foam to the back of it along with foam to the back of the seahorse.

The yellow background paper is from Crafter's Consortium and is mounted on a navy blue card base.  I secured each piece as shown in the photo and added the tiny bling dots as the final touch.  A little later I'll share the second one that I did at the same time ~ in shades of purples.

Happy Birthday Lisa!
I hope you have a Fabulous Day!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been coloring.  Come back soon!

Hangin' at the Beach

I'm back this afternoon to share one adorable puppy basking in the sun under his umbrella.  It's the new challenge for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps and I've selected 'Beach Time' to use for my Design Team card for this posting

He's a pretty cute dude "hangin' at the beach" with his assortment of beach toys and colorful umbrella from Elizabeth Craft's, 'So Fruity Summer' Die set.  All of the coloring was done with Copic markers. I used Gina Marie Designs Labels Six for the scalloped border around both the image and the matting. Then I secured both to the background paper that varied from white to deep orange.  Lastly I added the bottle cap sentiment "Hangin' at the Beach" to complete the design.

I hope you'll hop over to the All Dressed Up Challenge to see all of the Design Team cards and enter your card made with a ADU image for the challenge.   Thanks for stopping by here!

A Really BIG Birthday

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for the Classic Design Challenge as we open the August/September challenge.  Our challenge is always Anything goes and our Twist for this month will be 'Happy Birthday'.

A big thank you goes out to our sponsor, Mirtillamente Digital Designs.  For my project card, I've selected their Lisa LeGine Happy Birthday and made a 'wobbler' birthday card.

I started by printing and coloring the image with Copics in bright neon colors to match the flowery glitter paper I'd selected. I colored about a 1/4" border on the outside of the image with the green neon and then cut out the birthday girl and set her aside.  Next I die cut the black background mat using Gina Marie Designs Pierced Nested Die.  I trimmed the flowered print to fit the 5 3/4" square card base and secured it.  Then I added the black mat on the left side, near the fold.

For the sentiment I used the words that came with the digital package but I retyped the work BIG and enlarged it to fit the card theme.  After trimming each word, I doodled around and added the green neon to the edges then added to the card base on the right side.

To attach the birthday girl, I used a 'wobbler' spring, which is a purchased plastic spring with adhesive on both ends.  One attaches to the card base and one to the object you want to move or wobble.  Here's a short clip ~

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring. I hope you'll hop over to the Classic Design Challenge and see the other cards made by the Design Team members. While there, enter your cards too!

He is the Rock

Today the Word Art Wednesday Challenge is opening for Weeks #712-713.  The new sponsor is  Stix2Anything and our featured scripture is from Deuteronomy 32:4.

For my Design Team card today I have used a generic mountain image and added the selected scripture.

After printing, I used Copic markers for coloring and the Pink & Main, Stitched Rounded Rectangle die for the decorative edges on the image and the brown patterned mat. I also printed the selected sentiment and used a stitched banner die to die cut it.   After securing the scripture to the completed image,  then I was able to secure both the image and matting to the hunter green card base to complete my card design for today.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been working on. Please join us on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge with your cards and also get your free digital download of the featured scripture by right clicking and saving to your hard drive.

H, I, J, K .....

I don't know about you but 'MY Momma' taught me to always say thank you and to do it promptly.  When I came home from Stamp Camp 2025, my husband was having hip replacement surgery two days later and thank you notes for the girls and gifts were the last thing on my priority list.

The longer time past the worse I felt about not getting my little notes in the mail until finally I just had to stop everything and get them done!  I honestly was so tired from taking care of my patient that making a choice of what image to use for 10 different ladies was mind boggling....especially when I wanted each card to have uniqueness specific to the receiver.

After a good bit of searching I finally ran across the Cherry Blossom Monogram Alphabet and knew I'd found exactly what I wanted to make to send to each of the Stamp Camp 2025 ladies.   Here's a peak of the starting day..

This beautiful floral alphabet would be perfect, especially since we all have a list of each other's favorite colors.  I colored each one with my Copic markers, die cut with Penny Black's Elegant Stitching Rectangle Die and mounted on coordinating card bases.  The butterflies additions are from various manufacturers.

It was wonderful to be a part of Stamp Camp 2025, to see old friends and to meet a few new ones.  Our hostess is always the best and finds the most unique locations.  We each showered our crafty friends with so many cute gifts and amazing crafty projects.  Thankfully, I finally got all my thank you notes in the mail!

Be Your Beautiful Self

When I attended Stamp Camp back in June, Ginger taught two different types of Eco prints techniques.  The 'Leaf Spraying' technique was a lot shorter method to get to the beautiful results than the method of using rusty nails and boiling a wrapped bundle of several prints.  Both methods however produced beautiful Eco prints for backgrounds.

Today I'm sharing the first card I've made using the sprayed Eco print I made at camp. I am grateful for the gals that gathered the assortment of leaves for all of us to have an amazing assortment to work with.

We used two sheets of Canson Water Color paper for each set of designs.  One sheet is placed on plastic and the leaves placed fairly close without overlapping them.  Then we sprayed three random colors of Distress Oxide or Oxide Stain sprays over the leaves.  Quickly the second sheet was placed on top and using our hands we basically rubbed over the entire sheet to allow the ink to absorb around the leaves on both the top and bottom of our set of sheets.

After drying, a script stamp is used to carefully hand stamp in the open leaf blank spots. Then a Phano pencil (China Marker) is used to draw around the leaves.    A few ink spatters in black or white and the paper is complete.

Mine randomly cut into 5" x 6" pieces for backgrounds....

I selected today's piece, trimmed to fit the yellow card base and added the sentiment along with a die cut fern piece.

Delivered this one to my friend Martha for her birthday TODAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTHA!
