With An Attitude

Today I'm showcasing the new April image from Moondrea Designs, Artist Andreia Salvia's 'Spring Fairy'.

You might look at all the beautiful shades of purples and greens with a few pinks and yellows and say 'How pretty' , 'but what is that dark aqua swirl on her face?'

When I was a teenager with very long flowing hair, we went through a 'fad' where you took a small amount of your hair and braided it separately.  Some colored these strands so they stood out even more.  At the time, these were called "Your Attitude".

Now many years later, that different and frankly weird memory came to mind when coloring Spring Fairy.  She looked like she needed to have a special strand of hair shaded differently ~ "her attitude".  Artist choice right!

Like most things I do that are considered Out of the Box, I always want to encourage anyone reading my blog or seeing one of my cards, to not limit yourself to the standard card size, the standard image, the same old traditional colors.  Allow yourself to do something different.  It's okay if no one likes it but you.  You are the colorist and card maker.  It's your design.

So be sure to check out Spring Fairy on Moondrea Designs Etsy store or on the Facebook page.  There are so many beautiful designs just waiting for you there.

Happy and Sweet!

It's time for a new challenge for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps!  I hope you were able to join the last challenge with your ADU card and maybe you are a winner!

For my Design Team card today, I selected 'Spring Hair Do' and made her into a Birthday card.

I started by stamping the image and coloring her with Copic markers.  Then I die cut the completed image and the aqua blue mat with the Tattered Lace Pearl Circles die set.

The card base is a 6" white square side fold with a peach marble background mat added. I added a layer of foam to the back of the completed image then secured it to the center of the aqua blue circle.   I added these to the center of the card, then added the flower embellishments and die cut leaves that I'd colored also.  To complete the design, I added the three bling dots randomly around the image and the 'Fairy Happy Birthday' sentiment in the bottom right corner.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring. I hope you'll check out the All Dressed Up Challenge blog and enter your cards there also.

You Are Amazing!

Today I'm posting with several of my Design Teams by the 15th falling on a Wednesday too.   We'll get the day started with the Classic Design Challenge blog and a brand new Sponsor - Cute Bee Designs!  We are grateful and excited!

The optional twist for this challenge is 'Furry Friend'.

The image choices that we were allowed to pick from made it really hard to decided.  I know we all wanted to color each of them!  I selected Tania with a Bunny

She was a lot of fun to color and so was the rabbit!

After picking the colors from my scraps for the matting and card base, I added the black liner mat to the image and foam to the back of the embossed sentiment strip that I found.

The peach with gold dotted paper is more like tissue paper than card stock.  The high fiber content made it all but impossible to cut with a paper cutter.  It secured well to the card base and then I added the horizontal piece of multi colored stripes.

I secured the image and the sentiment to the card base, then added the flower to the left of center and peach string at the top fold to complete this card design.

Thanks for stopping by and please go check out Cute Bee Designs to see variety of images offered.

Another Design Team posting for the 15th is from Word Art Wednesday, Week 748-749.  Our featured scripture is from Psalm 11:8.  Remember you can download this beautiful scripture from the Word Art Wednesday blog site to use on your cards and other projects.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Seth Apter who is offering a free website class as the prize.

Several of Paper Artsy stamp sets are designed by Seth Apter.  When I pulled this set 'Deck the Halls' I mistakenly thought it was one of his designs.  However it is actually designed by Jo Fifth-Young.

This is also where a Christmas themed stamp set worked perfectly for the look of a baby mobile to go with this scripture.  I'll just chalk it up for a win, not a mistake!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll visit the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog and post your Anything Goes cards for a chance to win the free online class.

With Love

Today is my turn to post an image of my choice from Moondrea Designs to share with you.  I've selected Carnation Fairy  because I like the flower series that artist Andreia Silva has done.  I hope to complete each of them ~ it's just hard to know which to pick next.

For this card I selected rich shades of caramel colored skin and the softest pink colors for her dress that looks like it is just flowing from her.  I stayed with the shades of pinks for the carnations.

The completed image is mounted on gray cardstock and both pieces have been rounded on the corners.  For the background mat, I used a shade darker pink and tied the black gingham ribbon around the mat, then secured to the white card base.   After tying the bow, I added the image and the flower gemstones.  A tiny 'With Love' tag secured under the edge of the bow completed the card design.

Be sure to check out the other flower fairy designs of Moondrea Designs.

Poured Out Easter

It's the day before Easter and this morning I wanted to share this card I made using Colorado Crafts, Poured Out Easter.

After stamping and Copic coloring I used the Gina Marie Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die with a coordinating 1/8" mat and a rustic red card base.  The stamp sentiment was also from the same package.  Lastly I wrapped and tied a thin piece of twine around the top flap and added a charmed bow in the knot.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.

I Can Face Tomorrow

The next set of Easter cards I'd like to share are also from Unity Stamps, and are from the 'He Lives' set.

Both cards are Copic colored and I used the same Gina Marie Pleated Oval Die.   Though they are slightly different layouts and drastically a change in colors, they both turned out beautifully.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.

Blessings

Good morning!  It's April 1st but not an April Fools Joke as we have opened Week 746-747 for Word Art Wednesday Scripture blog.  This edition we are focusing on the scripture from 1 Kings 8:62.  You can download your copy of this scripture by clicking on Word Art Wednesday blogspot and then right clicking and saving the scripture to your files.  We encourage you to do this so you can use it for your cards or other crafting projects.

Our sponsor for this edition is Birch Press Design and they are offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge.

For my Design Team card, I've used the single stamped word 'Blessings'  from Birch Press Design "Spring Blessings" clear stamp set.  After completing the card I was unsuccessful in finding the stamp set online to reference for you.  Since it was introduced in 2018, I'm assuming it's been retired.

I stamped the 'Blessings' using Versa Fine Paradise ink and printed the scripture on the same shade of blue cardstock.  Then I die cut the sentiment using Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Rectangle dies.  I mounted both pieces on foam and then on a tiny floral dusty rose cardstock print and set them aside.

I used a dusty rose pre cut heart filigree paper as a topper and secured it to a tiny floral darker blue print and then to a navy 5" x 61/2" cardstock piece. I secured the 'Blessing' in the center, about 1 1/2" down, just above the open heart cut out.   Next the scripture was secured at the bottom right corner, coming in slightly to leave a tiny pink border showing.

To add a little detailing, I glued blue flatback beads at the arched curves around the card and one extra to dot the 'i' in Blessings.  Nothing too fancy but turned into a beautiful card, don't you think!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you will take the time to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog and download the free scripture from 1 Kings 8:61.

Peaceful Moments

Today I'm sharing another Unity Stamp card I made for one of my girlfriends who recently lost her best friend.

I've selected Unity's Enduring Connection stamp image and sentiment.

The image is stamped on heavy weight water color paper and I used a standard 36 piece Artistry watercolor set from Altenew.

The image and the sentiment edges were die cut using the Heart Edge Square set from Cheery Lynn.  For the layout, I've used Unity's monthly 'Layered Layout' challenge

I hope she and many others who suffer the loss of their best friends can find comfort in peaceful moments.

Lilly Cat Fairy

Have you played along on a monthly Progressive Challenge before?  The ones that I have from digital images are really fun and easy.  Start by following Moondrea Designs on Facebook.  Then each month,  you enter one of her images ~  colored and made into a card ~  into the Progressive Album.  A winner is selected but everyone who enters receives the Artist's choice image for the free!  This can be used for the next month's entry or you can use another Moondrea image you already have, and continue to receive a free image again.

This is the image I received last month and I'm using  for my entry for March.

Meet Lilly Cat Fairy

I've colored her with Copic markers and used the Penny Black Grateful Stackers die set for framing.  She's mounted on a coordinating floral patterned paper on a copper brown 5" x 6" card base.  I added the preprinted fishtail sentiment across the bottom to finish the design.

Hope you will join us on the Progressive challenge.  You can purchase Lilly Cat Fairy on the link below.
