Sending Birthday Love!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO

LISA JONES!

How blessed I am to have girl friends  ~ up and down ... across the USA.... and around the world also!  Some you just know immediately...'she is my people'.
Those are the friendship where a committed relationship begins.

That's the type relationship / friendship that I share with Lisa.  We are aware it is one of long distances, one of long times between seeing each other, and one of mostly a Facebook message once a month or so.  However, let their be an issue, a family problem or someone messing with our children - we re there to support each other to whatever extent is needed.  What a blessing you are to me Lisa!

We both love birds and especially hummingbirds, so I took a whirl at this google image for her card, colored in Copic markers and framed with the Penny Black Grateful Stackers die set.

I hope it will brighten your  day Lisa,
and add to your Birthday joy throughout the month!

Love you Lisa ~ Happy Birthday!

Off the Beaten Path

This afternoon we are opening the next challenge for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps ~ #176 for August.  For my Design Team project I selected Sandy Beach and made a generic fun summer card.

I colored the image with Copic markers and added the sky, water and sand around the camper.  Then I used Tattered Lace Lacy Days Square Die set for the decorative edge.

I added several strips of multi patterned paper across the matting before adding the image, then secured the image and mat to the card base.  I added a preprinted sentiment at an angle in the top right corner to finish the card.

I hope you'll stop by the ADU Challenge blog and see the other Design Team card and enter your cards made using the All Dressed up stamps and images.  I'd love to see what you are making.

Just Humming By

Today I'm sharing a Hummingbird birthday card in celebration of 'another' Pam's birthday!

This image is a tattoo image that I used Copic markers for the coloring and then fussy cut as close as possible.

I used Sugar Pea Designs, Floral Pocket Tag package for the flowers and leaves.  I wanted to make everything in the aqua green to blue to purple shades so I used two floral patterns and ran all the flowers and leaf dies through, then just layered them up!

I added a layer of felt foam behind the head and top wing of the hummer and positioned him as if his nose was right in the flowers!  Then I added the pre stamped and embossed Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom of the card base.

It still had too much white space for me so I added the lavender to light blue 1/4 inch organza ribbon at the fold and added the cross charm in the knot.  Lastly I added Wink of Stella "Clear" on the head and tail wings of the hummingbird and she's ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on. Hope you have a blessed day!

Count Your Blessings

Good morning from the Design Team for the Classic Design Challenge. We're opening the August/September challenge today with two wonderful sponsors:  Fred She Said and Sheepski Designs.

For my Design Team card I selected 'Emma in the Leaves' from Fred She Said and made a generic fall card.

I used Copic markers for the coloring and then die cut the edge of the image and the aqua mat with Penny Black's Elegant Stitching Rectangle Die set.

I mounted the multi leaf patterned paper on a 5" x 7" brown card base, then added the image with aqua matting.   Next I used a piece of scrap from the aqua matting to add behind the sentiment 'Count Your Blessings, and centered and secured it across the width of the image.  Then for the final touch, I added the orange ribbon with a leave charm tied in the knot.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been working on.  I hope you will pop over to the Classic Design Challenge to see the other Design Team cards and to enter your cards for a chance to win!

Slow to Anger

Good morning! Today I am posting with the design team for the Word Art Wednesday blog site as we open Week #764-765.

Our lovely sponsor is Stamp Simply.  I have used one of their older (discontinued) stamps called 'Thank You #33, Flourishes'.

Our featured scripture is from Proverbs 16:32, which you can of course download for your cards and projects from the Word Art Wednesday blog.

I stamped the larger flower, then went back with the smaller flower masking off the leaves to be able to place the stem and smaller flower in the right spot.  Then I went back and added the smaller leaves.   I used Copic markers for my coloring of the stamped images and have referenced them below.

When I was browsing the Stamp Simply website I noticed they sell a wide variety of other crafting supplies.  One item was the Sizzix, Embossing Folder, 665735, Doily Texture Fades.  I love the vintage look that folder brings with it.  After flipping through my stash of pinks, I found one with a darker pattern on the side and used it in the Embossing folder.  I inked the raised section using a 'Memento, "Sweet Plum" teardrop ink pad and trimmed close to the patterned edge.

Next I used Gina Marie Designs Looped Lace Rectangle dies for the completed flowers and for the selected scripture.  I used a light pink 5 3/4" square card base and secured each layer as shown, adding a piece of foam sheeting under the scripture.

At the top I wrapped burgundy waxed thread around the flap and knot and covered the knot with Butterfly domed button from K&Company.  Lastly I added three tiny flat back white pearls around the flowers for a bit of elegance

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.  Hope you will hop over to the Word Art Wednesday blogsite and download the free scripture from Proverbs, see the other Design Team cards and also enter your card for a chance to win the prize!
