Heal Me

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for Word Art Wednesday as we open the biweekly challenge and share the last winners.  This weeks (742-743) edition is sponsored by Concord and 9th and the featured scripture is from Jeremiah 17:34.

For my project card I have selected Concord and 9th's Long Line Roses image.

I stamped the single rose, then scanned the image so I could size it to fit my card front.  After printing, I colored the rose with Copic markers and then fussy cut it out and set it aside.

I selected a deep red card base and added the mint green heart print first to the base, followed by the handmade fiber paper.  Next I added a large foam square to the back of the colored rose, then secured the rose on the left, slightly at an angle so it fit on the fiber paper.  I used Gina Marie Designs Drop Pendant die to cut the printed sentiment.  I added this to the right of the rose and then randomly placed three coordinating enamel dots to complete the design.

Be sure to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog site where you can obtain your free download of today's scripture.   Thank you for stopping by also!

Bella Rosa

Today I'm sharing the February image from Moondrea Designs for the monthly Progressive Challenge.   If you love coloring this type image you should check out this challenge on the Facebook page and join in!

The February image is Bella Rosa and this is my completed card.

I used Copic markers for the coloring then added a coordinating aqua blue liner mat and a deep pink patterned mat before securing to the 5 1/2" x 6" card base.  I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the headbands, earrings and the diamond pendant on her gown.

I will add the sentiment when the occasion comes up to use the card.  Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been coloring.

Bursting Into Flower

Today's featured card is a Penny Black stamp named 'Florescence', which means 'bursting into flower'.  I think that is a pretty cool name and perfect for this image.  The buds look full and ready to pop open at any moment.

It's also the perfect birthday card for my friend Kathy, who's celebrating her special day today!  She's such a lovely friend who can be a serious and quiet, not bothering anyone.  Then BAM!  She has everyone cracking up or has made the most amazing layered card you've ever seen and you're just gasping!

I had to come up with some sort of surprise for her card, but you know how hard it is to make cards for a great card maker!  I knew she'd be expecting a Copic colored card because that's me, that's my style.  So bravely, I did this in watercolors.  Not the watercolor pens and add water - I did this with the watercolor paint pallet.

Behind the sentiment I secured the loopy string bow that Kathy taught me to make and added foam to the back of my sentiment strip (another Kathy tip).  I used a lime green ink pad to ink around the edges and then secured the completed card front to the black card base.

I've learned so much from the friends I've met through crafting and the tips and tricks we've shared.  You're a special lady Kathy and I treasure your friendship.  Hope you have a fantastic birthday!

God is Within Her...

Several weeks ago I was admiring a friend's small family album that she had created.  While each page was carefully and beautifully decorated there was one page that was a show stopper!  I had never seen a circular musical stamp like this.

I'm sure I'm not alone in the rest of the story... of asking what the stamp was named and who made it.  But my quest didn't stop at just this stamp (Passion Music by Stamperia) but also the sister stamp (Passion Love Art by Stamperia) had to be purchased also.

Today I am sharing my first card using pieces of the stamps from both sets to make this Music themed card for a swap challenge.

It took a bit to find the right doily after going through my circle dies and assorted other round display pieces in order to locate the right piece for the round music stamp from Passion Music.

I also stamped the horizontal strip of notes on white Neenah cardstock and inked the edges with black ink. The scripture is a piece I had in my stash box, one I use a lot.  The piano keyboard and the ballerina slippers came from the Passion Music set.

I used Copic markers for the coloring on the selected pieces.   Each are listed below in the Products section. Having both coordinating sets will really add to the possibilities for the card designs I can make.  Thanks for stopping by today!

You Are Loved

Today's posting with the All Dressed Up Design Team is to allow us to share more inspirational cards and projects using this months new releases.  I selected  'Winter Walks' then really had a tough time deciding on which girl I wanted to use.  I know how I like large images. As you can see at the bottom under 'Products' the actual image has three girls grouped together.

I sized the single image to about 5" tall and printed on 110# Neenah cardstock.  For this design I stayed with just the 'C' series (cool grays) of Copic markers except for her hair and snow.  After completing I used a red fine tip marker and drew in the random hearts, then added the 1/8" black mat.

The gray card base is 6" square and covered with four different love themed black and white prints that are cut and matted in black.  Once secured to the card base, I added the completed girl from the Winter Walks digi set and then secured the 'You are loved' sentiment at the bottom, slightly overlapping the image.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.  I hope you'll grab an All Dressed Up image and enter our blog challenge also.

Glowing with Love

Welcome to my first posting as a Design Team member with Moondrea Designs.  If you follow my work, you've seen several cards that I've done over the past few months using her beautiful images.  I was excited to post for one of several Design Team positions and thrilled to see that I was accepted.

Today I'm showcasing one of the newest images L'Amour, which can be found on the Moondrea Designs Etsy Store.

After sizing and printing I used Copic markers for all of the coloring except for the gold crown, which was done with a metallic pen.  Next I trimmed around the image and secured her to a copper colored mat that had been edged with the Penny Black Elegant Stitching Die set.  I added the second mat out of coordinating deep aqua, securing to the image set.

The card base is also a copper colored card stock with a multi colored striped patterned paper covering the background.  I added two small tabs on each side with small gold adhesive decorative trim, then added the double matted image, tilting it slightly to the left.  Lastly I randomly added three bright gold stones  around L'Amour to complete the card design.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been working on today.  Be sure to visit the Moondrea Designs blog to see other inspirational cards by the Design Team during the month and also the Etsy store to browse and make your purchases.

Glory

Today I am posting with the Design Team for Word Art Wednesday, Week 740-741, as we focus on the scripture from 2 Corinthians 4:17.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Not2Shabby who have donated a $25 gift certificate for the selected winner.

For my project card, I've used the digital image 'Peace' from Graciellie Designs, and added the selected scripture as the sentiment.

I printed the bird image and colored her using Copic markers, then fussy cut and added two coats of mod podge to seal and give a extra shine.  I let that piece dry overnight.

The A2 card base is a peach top fold and I started by adhering the brown Gina Marie Designs Dotted Double Lace for the background.  I added the tiny dotted light blue rectangular cut paper to the inside area of the frame and then secured the featured scripture in the bottom corner.  I found the green ivy vine in my bits and pieces and secured it to the top of the scripture in the open area, overlapping the scripture.  Lastly I added a foam square to the back of the bird then added her to the top left corner of the card to complete the design.

Remember that you can get the scripture from the Word Art Wednesday blog for free to have for your cards and other projects.   While there be sure to enter your cards for a chance to win the sponsor's gift certificate!

I Heart You!

Today we open the All Dressed Up February Challenge #170 with tons of inspirational cards from the Design Team.

For my project card, I selected  'Hugs' and made this multi layered uplifting card.  Sometimes no words are required to convey the message!

I printed this sweet little girl and used Copic markers for the coloring.  I used the Penny Black, Grateful Stackers for the decorative edge of the image  and the fuchsia mat.

I selected a green card base and added a vertical strip of red and pink hearts down the left edge.  Then I secured the matted image, slightly overlapping the border print.  Lastly I added the heart border die from my stash, which fit perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.  I hope you will visit the All Dressed Up Challenge to see the other design team cards and to enter yours in the challenge.

Fluttering By

Good morning from the Classic Design Challenge as we open the February/March edition.  Our sponsors for this challenge are  'Last Minute Manda' and 'Fred, She Said' and the optional twist will be Blooms or Butterflies.

For my Design Team card, I selected the 'Marigolds & Morpho' Digi set from 'Fred, She Said' and this is my completed card.

My love of coloring flowers and butterflies pulled me to this image and it was a great one to color with my Copic markers.

Once completed I used the Cheery Lynn Heart Edge Square die set for the image edge and the mauve matting edge.  Both pieces were then secured to the 5" square mint green card base.  Lastly I randomly added three enamel dots around the image to complete the design.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.  I hope you'll visit the Classic Design Challenge Blog to see the other Design Team projects and enter your cards also for a chance to win!

And Walk In Love

Today I am posting with the Design Team for Word Art Wednesday, Week 738-739, as we focus on the scripture from Ephesians 5:2.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamps of Life who have donated a $25 gift certificate for the selected winner.

For my project card, I've used the digital image 'Potted Plants' from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps, and added the selected scripture as the sentiment.

I printed the image and colored her using Copic markers, then used Gina Marie Designs, 'Scalloped Stitched Rectangle' dies for the decorative edge.  The same die was used for the bottom edge of the scripture prior to matting on the green cardstock.

The card base is 5 1/2" square and I started by adhering the purple polka-dotted cardstock background to it.  I added a vertical strip of printed hearts on the left edge, then secured the colored image, allowing it to slightly overlap. Lastly I secured the sentiment to the right of the image.

Remember that you can get the scripture from the Word Art Wednesday blog for free to have for your cards and other projects.   While there be sure to enter your cards for a chance to win the sponsor's gift certificate!

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.

For God Is For Me

Today I'm posting with the design team for Word Art Wednesday challenge for Weeks #736-737.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamp Simply and our featured scripture is from Psalm 56:9.

For my challenge card, I have used Stamp Simply's, 'God Will Take Care of You' set and pulled just the leaf branch to add to the selected scriptures.

This layout design was cased from a beautiful scripture card with this fun fold which was made by my friend Holly.  It's 4" tall and 6" long with a fold between the vertical embossed piece and the main design.

I stamped the leaf branch and used Copic markers for the coloring, then used the coordinating die for cutting.  After printing the scripture, I used My Favorite Things, 'Arched Elegant Stitched Stax' dies for the scripture and the coordinating mat.   The scripture piece was inked and a foam sheet added to the back before attaching to the mat pieces.  I also added the vertical vellum bubble strip to the mat and three enamel dots.  Next I embossed a strip of green cardstock 1" x 4" for the vertical piece on the left.  I used the Sizzix Damask Embossing folder for this design.  A coordinating olive green waxed thread is added around the embossing strip and card base, knotted and a bow added.  Then the card base is glued together inside from the center fold to the fold line.  This enables the front to fold, leaving the embossed strip and back remaining flat.

As always our featured scripture is free for you to save to your device for use on your cards or future projects. Simply right click and save to your files.

I love the way the fun fold turned out and the inspiration I got from the card I received.  You'll be seeing this card layout again!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on and for joining us on Word Art Wednesday.  Don't forget to enter your cards on the WAW Blog posting for a chance to win the Sponsor's $25 gift certificate!

Winter Ballerina

Today I'd like to share with you another lovely image from Moondrea Designs.  This is this month's freebie for entering in the progressive challenge last month.  Winter Ballerina is also available in their Etsy store for a limited time.

Images like this with lots of ruffles or lace and lots of twists in their hair are a Copic colorist dream for coloring - at least for me.  Winter Ballerina was no exception.  I completed the card by die cutting the image with Gina Marie Designs Looped Lace Rectangle Die  and double matting.

If you haven't found Moondrea Designs on Facebook or Etsy, you should look them up and see all the lovely images available.  I'll be entering her in this month's Progressive Challenge also.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been coloring.
